Well I went and ate at Chick-fil-A today to show my support for their Christian stance against the homosexual agenda. I was actually shocked at the crowd. I went early thinking it would not be very crowded. The first place I did not stop because the parking lot was full. The second place was the same way and that was for breakfast. I waited about 30 minutes for lunch to start and went back to the first place and cars were driving around looking for places to park with the drive through lines long and full. I found a place to park and went in and the place was packed. Great experience to see people take a stand against evil. We need more of this kind of support.

It was awesome. People waiting an hour to an hour and a half to show their support. The lines were out the doors and the cars were backed up trying to get in. Fantastic show of support for the company's owners who stand on God's word.

I said this in another thread, but...:

Nope. The nearest one to me, in Michigan --- is at a college, in Rochester, Michigan. Which is about 35 miles to my north. There's also one in Toledo, Ohio and I ain't driving all the way down there.

Plus, I don't have car right now; so, I got no chicken. :tear:

I have heard that Chick-fil-A only opens in like upper middle class neighborhoods, as in $250.000 a year and above. They don't venture into the working class part of the Country. Might be because of them scary black people or something. Just sayin' ya'll, just sayin... :tongue3::laugh::type:

Forgive my rambling post.

Chik-fil-A didn't open only in what I would call high-dollar neighborhoods in my town, at least. There is one in an indoor mall, one in a sort of outdoor mall near a Chili's, a Chedder's, a Golden Corral buffet, and across the street from a Best Buy, Petsmart, Christian book store, and others. Across another street is a trailer court and a Wal-mart. I think there may be one at the local college in the food court, too.

On other topics, this article really struck home to me:
http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarne...hing-attacks-threats-against-chick-fil-a.html

I went to one in a mall and there were, by my guess, around 300 people in line across the large food court and down the hall, doubling back on itself. It was about an hour wait, and well worth it imo. Another location, I'm told, had cars backed up down a major city corridor onto a highway. I can only guess how many people didn't or couldn't go because of the lines. Local news said the location sold out of almost everything (which makes me wonder about their business today and how long it will take to resupply).

At the location I went to, people were upbeat and patient, and the workers, though harried, seemed to be keeping up their always positive attitudes.

Just my $.02:

In my opinion, although it's been around for a long time, the culture war on the topic of homosexuality has gotten so much more severe in the last generation or so because Christians have been largely focused on careers, raising kids, and paying off mortgages, while the pro gay movement is working full time every day on-task in Hollywood, especially television, and also in all forms of literature and news media day after day, to convince everyone that this lifestyle is normal and just as healthy as the traditional family unit ("a family is a family" and "who is it hurting?" are common sentiments). Many the top-rated shows prominently feature a gay couple as normal and healthy and no-big-deal. Reality tv, extremely popular now, nearly always has a token gay contestant. There has been years of making this lifestyle mainstream and Christians have done little about it but complain. While we Christians focus our lives on gaining material possessions and career advancement, and prioritize after-school soccer and Sunday School couples-night-out potluck dinners, we have become too insular and too weary to be very active in the culture war. This is not what I see in the Bible regarding the first century church, and we could learn a lot from them. *passes mic*

Not so down here. In St. Augustine on US 1 in front of Home Depot, in Daytona Beach they are in Speedway Blvd.
I been to many going cross country and most were where the working people could get to, had to be for me, I was driving a18 wheeler, I might have to park 1 to 5 blocks away and walk back.
And the scary black people deal is uncalled for, go to Atlanta, Memphis and most larger towns and you will see them where the people are.

I can,t believe what I read. This is not a Homosexual vs Heterosexual issue, this is a free speech issue. I do agree with Dan Cathy 100% on his stand on Biblical marriage. To quote Clarece Darrow in his defense of "Scopes" in the early 20th century Monkey Trial said he was not there to defend what the defendant said but only his right to say it. "FREE SPEECH IS GOING THE WAY OF SPATS"

How is this a free speech issue? Cathy had his say. No one censored him.

It won't fly. The mayors pushing this are just grandstanding. Again, no one stopped him from having his say. However, there are business consequences to statements.

Whether or not it will fly is not relevant. The government tried to stop them because of what they said. That is government fighting against free speech no matter how you stack it up.

There was a clear attempt to intimidate by a government official. The attempt is to get those who stand for moral values to be silent. That part of the government is in fact standing against free speech.

No it is not. They did NOT restrict his speech. However, there can be business consequences to speaking out. That is not censorship.

When it is done by the government it is censorship. The government cannot enforce consequences to curb free speech. Ever!

Yes it is an attempt to bring censorship. No one can be made not to speak even if threatened with death if they have enough courage unless perhaps their tongue is cut out.. The problem is that any kind of coercive action to limit opinions or speech is censorship. What stops one might not stop another, but the censorship is still there and it happened through that Governor.
