Looks like we are splitting hairs here.....was vs is

not splitting hairs - just giving the facts

Impeachment has lost it's meaning. It has become nothing more than a political maneuver. Instead of motion by Congress that formalized a national scandal and its associate shame, it has now become a badge of honor by the person being impeached. Both sides will use it to their own advantage. Congress will point and say, "See? He is impeached!" The person being impeached will say, "See what they did to me?" It is the American people who are being played as fools.
