My deepest, heartfelt condolences to the family of Chris Temple. He enriched and blessed this forum with his knowledge and insight,as I am sure he blessed many people in "real" life. We can be thankful for the time he spent here. Temple family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Subject: Donations for the Temple's

Some of you have asked to help with funeral expenses and other costs
associated with conducting a
memorial service and burial in Raleigh.

If you feel led, please make your gifts payable to Providence Baptist Church
and designate it for "Benevolence". Include a note indicating your gift is for the Temple
Funeral Expenses. Do not put that information on the check itself. You can send your gift directly to Providence Baptist at 6339 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC 27612-2638 or you can drop it in the Church office slot in the foyer of the church.

We greatly appreciate all the help and prayers all of you have offered on Chris's behalf and I know your love for this family is supernaturally inspired by your faith and trust in Christ.

God Bless you all

Jesus lives, and so shall I. Death! thy sting is gone forever. He who deigned for me to die, lives, the bands of death to sever. He shall raise me with the just; Jesus is my hope and trust. Jesus lives, and death is now- but my entrance into glory. Courage, then, my soul, for thou hast a crown of life before thee; Thou shalt find thy hopes were just; Jesus is the Christian's trust. (From an old hymn)

I am afraid that I became a memeber fairly recently and didn't have the pleasure of meeting Bro. Temple on-line. But from the testimony that I've read here, I have hope that he is with the Lord. I look forward to meeting Bro. Temple in Heaven one day.

My prayers go to his family. I am sorry for your loss. May you be comforted in this time of transition until you can be reunited with him in Heaven.

God Bless You,
Charlotte

What happened to Chris? I have been gone from the baptist board for about 9 months due to moving, etc., and was stunned to see that he had passed away. Apparently he was sick for some time...can anyone provide me more details?

Thanks,

Chick

The following links, taken from the Prayer Request forum, may shed some light on your question (especially the second one):

Our heart goes out for the family and close friends of Chris. But our grief is not like the world's, for they do not have hope. We have hope in the Lord, who reassured His disciples with these words: "Because I live, ye shall live also!" (John 14:19b) May this blessed hope comfort us all!

2Co 5:1
¶ For we know that if our earthly house of this
tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of
God, an house not made with hands, eternal in
the heavens.
2Co 5:2
For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be
clothed upon with our house which is from
heaven:
Mabey it won't be too long before we can see him & talk with him again.

Being away from the BB for a few months, I am shocked and saddend by the loss of Chris. He assisted me numerous times in my early Christian life when I had some serious issues. His E-mails reflected his posts on the Baptist Board, down to earth, straightforward, and always an eye toward the Lord. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be missed.
