Thank God in Heaven for the few republicans strong enough to stand up to the entire team-zero juggernaut, If only the party leadership was a strong as them. I pray for Ted Cruz, and the rest of them They're job isn't easy to begin with, but when self-professed Christians are so willing to lie about what they are doing, the job seems overwhelming. They need our prayers for strength, and victory.

Actually the House has a responsibility to stand up for what their constituents are telling them and the majority of Americans don't like Obamacare. It is the right thing to do. God Bless our Congress for making a bold stand for America. It has only been 7 days into Obamacare and it is showing it's ugliness. Wait until 1 Jan 2014 hits and see what everyone thinks. I'll say by this time next year Americans will be ready to impeach Obummer because of this horrible law.

Nope. The polls I cited didn't ask simple "yes" or "no" questions that would lead to a desired outcome. They actually sought out an honest-to-God opinion from people.

Desperate to be right.(smh) It's on the screen. Anybody can read and see who started with the polls. And now you just can't bring yourself to be wrong as ITL's poll info refuted yours.

Impeach him for what? He didn't pass the law. Congress did. If the majority of Americans don't like the law, then the majority should get their reps and sens to pass a law to get rid of it.

Who signed it into law? Now I don't think there is no way he gets impeached, but you wait and see if you don't hear that word thrown about next year after everyone is sick of the law.

Presidents sign all sorts of things into laws. But you can't impeach him for something that's not an executive function. Laws are made by the legislative branch.

We understand that the President is not negotiating. He's not negotiating because he said he wouldn't if ACA is on the table. He said this 2 months ago, 6 weeks ago, 1 month ago, 2 weeks ago, last week, and every day this week. WE GET IT.

That does not make it ok.

That does not make it ok.

Then it also doesn't make it okay for the Republicans to not take Obamacare off the table.

Both sides are doing the same thing and any one without a partisan agenda could readily see it and admit it.

That's your opinion. Not negotiating is in itself, a negotiation tactic. So the Republicans can whine all they want about it being unprecedented and that past Presidents have negotiated. But apparently not negotiating is Obama's strategy.

Its not a strategy, he doesn't negotiate because he has no people skills and he would lose his backside. He is afraid. Its the reason he said "I shouldn't have to" when it came time to call Putin. He is inept, ignorant, and he doesn't like people. He doesn't know how to deal with people who do not just fall at his feet. He is not a leader so he leads form behind. He never obtained any leadership skills. So now he relies on the press to carry the water for him. And apparently some folks are buying it. Calling it a strategy.

Agreed that he's not very good at negotiation. That's why he sent Biden to Capitol Hill last New Year's Eve to hammer out the agreement on taxes with Boehner. Plus he's stilled POed at Boehner for walking out of the grand bargain negotiations back in the summer of 2011.

But this time not negotiating is a strategy.

There is no negotiating with kidnappers and that is what the Tea Party/GOP currently is ... a group of kidnappers. Negotiate with them and they will never be satisfied. Call their bluff and if they really are stupid enough to shove the country an economic cliff don't cry when your retirement account is suddenly dropping to almost zero and when interest rate zoom upward. If you have an adjustable loan you should pray this ends soon.

Congress is acting like a grownup here. No "time out" or corporal punishment is due someone who is taking a stand for fiscal responsibility and an end to to this pretend dictator's reign.

The Republicans in Congress are doing the same thing he is. Obamacare had nothing to do with the current funding of the government until the Republicans made it so.

Obamacare shouldn't have anything to do with whether or not the government is funded. This is nothing but a lame attempt by career politicians to win a fight they have already lost three times.

They didn't do what they needed to do to defeat it way back when and now are desperately holding the funding of the government for ransom unless they finally get their way.

It's a very bad precedent to set. Got a piece of legislation you don't like and we can't get it repealed? Let's shutdown the government until they decide to change it.

Absolutely foolish.

All the Dems need to do now is start a dialog of what if?

What if the Republicans don't like the Social Security system?
What if the Republicans can't come up with another way to change Roe vs Wade?
What if the Republicans think Affirmative Action needs to be thrown out?

The Republicans have shown the American people that they really don't care about them. They just want to get their way and don't mind shutting down the government to do so.

There's a legislative process for changing laws. The Republicans can't win on that front so they are holding the country hostage.

Yet they are supposed to be the party of conscience and morality. Well currently they look disgustingly like selfish manipulators. But as the party showed during the last election cycle, it is DEFINITELY not beyond making an exception to choose wickedness if wickedness gets them what they want.

Wow. Your ignorance of appropriations bills is overwhelming.
