I can only go by the call and response shared in scripture. The pagan sailers and the pagan Ninevites repented and believed.

    Now, 120 years later...
We see that it does not take long for a society to corporately abandon. Hence my link to Jeremiah 18.

I disagree. Jonah shows us our inner self. Not the self we portray to the world, but the self that God observes.
You certainly can think I am wrong. That doesn't mean I am wrong.

Now, I understand - Every Christian in the world acts just like Jonah
That is the reason that not even one church in the World is discipled

Nope, you don't understand. Perhaps if you peer long enough in your own heart you'll see a bit of Jonah in yourself.

Since you can see in everyone's heart - I will let you decide what my heart says -

and guess what - I will give you the last word - as I am done with with silly conversation.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Romans 7:21-23 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Your arrogance is astounding, AustinC...the same kind of attitude I get from you in most of our past interactions. Real Christian of you, friend. I doubt it.

Wrong. Ninevah was destroyed that the scripture be fulfilled.

    Are we not like Jonah?
Do we not all hold prejudice from our upbringing? Does not our social group affect whom we associate with? Do we not get angry at times when we don't understand God's work in this world?

Honestly, look inside your heart. You, like me, are desperately wicked in your fleshly nature. We are made right with God, not because we have piously fixed all our ailments, but purely because Christ is our righteousness with God.

Please, don't put everyone into one category. Compare yourself to the Scriptures, and not everyone else. Nobody has stated here that their flesh isn't corrupt and the sin nature is wicked. But, we have the "new man" or new nature. Maybe YOU should let the HS do his work instead of you trying to do it for him. You come across as arrogant and you bloviate so well.

"For all have sinned..." That's one category we all fall into.
Jonah shows us ourselves and how we naturally rebel against our King. It is not surprising that God tells Micah that he wants us to do what's right, show mercy,...and...walk humbly with God. The humility God is talking about is for us to walk under the Supremacy of God, not live as though we can command God or demand of God.
We are like Jonah and we all need to acknowledge this.
So, yes, you are included in the person of Jonah.

    Lol...

...you're not alone in your sentiment. He's a BB legend and sage in his own mind.

I see you still have the never-ending need to justify yourself. It's what I've come to expect from you. Jonah was Jonah. I'm me, and of course, you've proven you're you. Scripture and Adams fall put us into that category. Apparently you don't know what the word "humbly" means, but feel the need to continue to try and steamroll your opinion over anyone who disagrees with you. You, friend, might be like Jonah...I am not.

He, in my opinion, is no legend anywhere. Typical blow-hard techniques to try and silence any opposition that comes his way is neither "humble" nor Scriptural. His continued self-aggrandizing justification of himself and his opinion is the highest category of pride, IMHO. I blocked him for a while. I should have left him on block.

Note, I am not accusing. You are.

I am stating what we learn from Jonah, that we are like Jonah and Jonah is like us.

I can see that offends your own pride. Very pointedly: I don't care if I offend your pride.
We are all sinners and Jonah, a man whom God anointed to write Holy Scripture, shows us that we are like him and he is like us.
I don't care if you accept this truth or not.

    Back to the OP.
I heard the old sermon by Allistair Begg on my drive in to work. "The man on the middle cross said I could come." The sermon, in my opinion, answers the OP's question.
