I read my KJV every day.

I repeat, Christ was not a Calvinist.

You know that I meant that you didn't even read the sermon by Boice . But , as usual twist away from the intended meaning SFIC .

The End Of Roger Nicole's Message

"The Doctrines Of Grace In The Teachings Of Jesus ".

So every one of the great points of Calvinism finds direct support in the words of Jesus . Some of them find no better support anywhere else in Scripture . Did Jesus teach Calvinism ? Was Jesus a Calvinist ? Would the Author of all grace teach us concerning the doctrines of grace ? Why , certainly ! And it is our comfort and our refuge .[/quote]

I have no desire to read Boice, Pink, Calvin, or any other person who is going to try to convince me that Christ died only for the elect.

I have already proven through expository teaching of 2 Peter 3:1-9 that Christ died for all, not just elect. So there is no need for me to waste my time reading Boice, Pink, Calvin, or any of the Calvinistic teachers.

Without reading Boice, Pink, Calvin, etc---A simple question can be asked

Who are the elect? Very elementary----the elect are the whosoever will's

One needs to be reminded that when one reads Calvin---one is reading words that are a little bit less than infallable

And having said this you show how your mind is closed.

I wonder what baptists belived before John Calvin was born?

They believed the biblical doctrine of grace, which for some reason someone tacked a man's (calvin) name onto it.

I said that because it is clear, at least to me, that you have closed your mind to studying these doctrines. I affirm Scripture alone for doctrinal authority. However, even in Scripture we see

Act 8:30 So Philip ran up to it and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. He asked him, "Do you understand what you're reading?"
Act 8:31 The man replied, "How in the world can I, unless someone guides me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

They modified the doctrines of grace to their own liking. Grace is extended to all who choose to accept.

God is not a puppeteer. Nor is He playing some sadistic game in which He chooses who will believe in Him and who will not.

As the mind should be closed to any false doctines such as Christ did not die for every man, woman and child in the world.

If this is true, that Christ died for every single individual that ever lived, then won't everybody be saved?

Seriously, I am the one who is uneducated, and it seems clear to me that IF Christ died for every single person, then shouldn't all be saved?

Ah, but the person must choose Christ, you say?

But salvation is not based on human will, it is not based on my choice.

The Calvinistic T.U.L.I.P. petals are of this earth, earthy. They will fade, and they will wither. But the Word of the LORD abideth ever.

When the passover lamb was slain, who was saved?

Only those who applied the blood to their door posts.

When the high priest offered up the sacrifice for "all" of Israel, was "all" of Israel saved?

No, only those with faith, who believed God.

Christ is the true passover Lamb. He has been slain, but only those who apply His blood through faith will be saved.

If I recall, last month you were a fence sitter...and now you are speaking up for calvinism from ignorance. Christ died for all (Hebrews 2:9), the Bible says. All won't be saved (Matt 7:14), the Bible says this, too. Your 2 + 2 is = 5.

And do we ourselves make ourselves partakers or are we made partakers by the working of God? What saith the Scripture?

We can only be partakers through faith. The only requirement that I am aware of.

The answer is "Yes." :)

I'll ask the reverse...do we make ourselves reprobate or are we made reprobate by God?

Scripture declares that some will not come to Him that they might have life (John 5:40). Why won't they come to Him? Because they love darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19,20). They choose the darkness. It is not forced on them.
