You implied it since when I showed you Matt 1:21 you indicated thats for jews. Do you mean ethnic jews ? Yes or no
“His people” (Mat_1:21), “My people Israel” (Mat_2:6) and “the house of Jacob” (Luk_1:33) references ethnic Jews.
Or do you think it means something else?
Dave Hunt explains: “‘His people’ is found 150 times in the Old Testament. Most often the phrase means Israel or physically related; never does it mean Calvinism’s elect. It occurs nine times in the New Testament; eight times it means Israel (Mat_1:21; Luk_1:68, Luk_1:77; Rom_11:1-2, Rom_15:10; Heb_10:30) and one time the redeemed (Rev_21:3).”
Citing John Calvin as a “hostile witness,” even he argued that Mat_1:21 referenced ethnic Jews:
“By Christ’s people the angel unquestionably means the Jews, to whom he was appointed as Head and King; but as the Gentiles were shortly afterwards to be ingrafted into the stock of Abraham, (Rom_11:17,) this promise of salvation is extended indiscriminately to all who are incorporated by faith in the “one body” (1Co_12:20) of the Church.”
