Christ the Savior

In researching for a Christmas-related message, I was struck by the fact that Jesus Christ is called a "Savior" only two times in the Gospels!

By an angel to the shepherds in Luke 2:11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

By the Samaritans who met with Jesus by the well in John 4:42 "Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world."

In other NT books both the Father and Son are called the Savior, but this just struck me that no one in Israel - including His disciples - saw Jesus as "Savior".

Interesting?

How about the woman who said that even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the children's table.

"O woman, great is thy faith:"

That is interesting too.
