I've been a cabbie for 11 years...I think I'ld move to bartending in a second if was able to...

Wouldn't be a used car salesman or politician though ;)

. meant to be tongue-in-cheek.
)

I read a real good biblical reponse from Artimaeus, did you miss it?

btw, what's refered to as "strong drink" in the bible wouldn't even come close to the weakest alcholic drinks of our time due to our more advanced distillation processes and technology.

We can get a clue from this verse too:
Isaiah 5:11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

And what do you really mean by "cultural persuasion"? Isn't it presently the culture for Americans to drink???

Here's the thing, if YOU have absolutely no conviction in bartending and you know without a doubt it's not a problem with God, it's soley between you and God and I can honestly say I would rather my husband go to a bar with a Christian serving the drinks than someone who doesn't know God.

Yea, just like a woman who would rather have her husband go to a madam who is a Chrsitan then one that is not, right?

Free,

nice attempt to compare two completely different things there, especially since one is a sin and the other is not. *sighs..oh brother* :rolleyes:

I don't think that this is accurate at all. Please provide some proof.

The Jew cut the drink that they used from 7 to 21 times with water according to many sources. Strong drink was straight and there was no fermintaion process like we have today.

Before I became a Christian I had convictions against alcoholic beverages. I saw too many drunks and what happened to their lives. Plus I was in athletics in high school and college.
