Christian Firearms Owners

I don't see a problem, as long as it doesn't become an obsession or a tool for malicious behavior. I do think they should only be used against people as an absolute last resort.

Even so, I don't own a gun, personally. (I have in the past, when I lived in a more dangerous area.) That's a personal choice, though, not a right-or-wrong thing.

What do you think? UnChristlike (aka, turn the cheek, etc)? Or perfectly fine with God?

A thought. There is a stigma about guns that I think has been driven into the minds of the past two or three generations that firearm ownership leads to violence. Pure propaganda.

You're right about that. This same propaganda has successfully infiltrated some
Christian fellowship's because it ties in well with their doctrine's that Jesus is all
compassion, all love and would never pick up a gun much less discharge one.

It is so easy to assume that because we live in a nation like America (where our
laws still pretty much protect us from harm) they believe God doesn't want anyone
to use force against some unsaved person bent on killing them.

In fact, some Pastor's actually teach and preach that if some unsaved person wants
to murder you, then it's God's will and "time for you to come home to Jesus..." and
your death will somehow "speak volumes" to your killer and that will be the ticket to
winning him (or her) to Christ.

Has anyone ever heard of the world, the flesh and the devil?

I beginning to think some Christian's want to bring Heaven down to Earth (while still
in this sinful state) and are trying to live like there's no sin out there. This is accorded
by the way they avoid anything and anyone who might bring persecution to their
doorstep.
