I understood the OP to be asking about priorities. Which is more important to us - our earthly nationality, or being in Christ's kingdom, that kingdom which He tells us is not of this world?

Hmmm, I wonder how many British subjects had a conflict back in 1776 - attending a church in the colonies with a pastor who believed that you should revolt against your Crown?

I don't know, Salty, but there were plenty who did so before and since. For example, the 2,000+ ministers who could not obey the Act of Uniformity (1662).
