Hundreds of Muslims in the divided region of Kashmir took to the streets Monday night in violent protest over the reported desecration of Qurans in the United States.

"Over a dozen people have reportedly died in the clash that ensued between police and protesters, and a Christian private school was set ablaze in the volatile Himalayan region.

"While violence and protests in Kashmir have been ongoing since June, Monday’s protests shifted from India’s rule over the disputed region to anti-Quran actions in the United States, where footage was taken of demonstrators tearing out pages from Islam's sacred text over the weekend...

It seems to me that before any action is taken, like burning the Koran, or similar actions we should think of how these actions will impact Christians living in Islamic areas. Such actions do not promote the message of Christ. They simply make life much harder for Christians in other areas. Such actions also make us look ....... well Islamic in attitude.

Violence breeds violence which breeds violence.

Blame everyone else but the perp. It's the liberal's mantra.

Are you saying that to be non-confrontational so as not to put our fellow Christians at risk or to make their lives more difficult is liberal. I see it as Christian!

The church that plans to burn the Koran probably could care less about their fellow Christians in other places. They certainly have done nothing to indicate they think of anyone except themselves.

If making other Christians lives easier by not doing something that will bring them trouble is liberal, than I think it is a good liberal policy.

Do unto others as ye would have them do to you.
We need more Christians to live by the Golden Rule.

So you believe it is all right to do something that may harm or put the lives of your brothers and sisters in Christ in other parts of the world in danger?

In our world it is possible to places the lives of others in danger by what we say and do, and what we write on the Internet. I know of a case where this has happened, but cannot speak further about it.

So we are to lower ourselves to their standards? Is what you say a reason to totally ignore the Golden Rule?

If we had acted more Christian perhaps they would not have hated us so much. You realize this hatred came about after WW II. Christians and Moslems lived together for centuries peacefully, but not recently and mostly because of the un-Christian way the countries of the West have treated them. Now, they bringing hatred upon themselves.

It is a very tragic era we are living in.

But that is no excuse to commit acts knowing it will enrage millions. Leave that to the followers of Mohammad, but not the followers of Christ.

Crabby, who has promoted Quran-burning on this board?

How can a person with a modicum of rationality take a report about islamo-terroritst violence...and turn it into a convenient opportunity to bash everyone but the guilty party?

Why do you feel such a need to be an apologist for these folks?

Is your plan to in the next few posts, pull a "guilt by association" stunt against conservatives? Wouldn't surprise me...

I am simply saying we should not act like them. It is not Christlike!

Perhaps you'd be kind enough to show me where any of us on here are advocating violent or evil behavior against the Muslims.

Don't assign me any homework, and don't answer my question with an unrelated mis-direct. Just answer the question.

If we had acted more Christian perhaps they would not have hated us so much.

Hey, I bet if we had sent flowers to Tokyo in 1941, they wouldn't have bombed Pearl Harbor.

You know, had we bought Mohammed Atta gift card to his favorite bookstore, he wouln't have flown the plane into the WTC. Heck, he would have probably bought everyone on board a free ticket, and given everybody on board a "Allahu Akbar" T-shirt.

Please tell me you're not serious here. The most rudimentary education would quickly decimate such a ridiculously ill-informed point of view.

Let's cut to the quick of my first post. Should we knowingly do extreme things that we know or should know will cause harm or create danger for our fellow Christians in Islamic countries? That is what SAG called liberal. I see it as Christian concern for other Christians.

Let's look at what Sag38 said...

sag38 said:

Not even close.

Crabby, you need to remember that the rest of us can read too when you misrepresent the words of others.

Bearing false witness is not Christlike.

And this is in complete contradiction to what our Savior has said...

WE are HATED because we ARE Christians...
Jesus said we will be persecuted when we act like Jesus...

And this is exactly what Muslims do... they persecute Christians who act like Christ....

Quit apologizing for this false religion.. .or perhaps your sympathy toward this satanic religion will convert you to Islam.

HOW can you justify these murdering thugs by blaming Christians?
Talk about blaming the victim!

I'm sorry, maybe I'm not clear:

Show me where folks are advocationg Koran-burning on here..

And I'm also still quite disturbed by this quote of yours:

If we had acted more Christian perhaps they would not have hated us so much. You realize this hatred came about after WW II. Christians and Moslems lived together for centuries peacefully, but not recently and mostly because of the un-Christian way the countries of the West have treated them. Now, they bringing hatred upon themselves.

I see this very much akin to, "Well, she deserved to get raped. Did you see that skirt she was wearing?"

Disturbing, on two fronts:

1. The amount of time/energy you expend in defending radical muslims and their corresponding radical behavior.
2. The apparent lack of recognition on your part of the extreme adversarial nature of islamo-fascist behavior, islamo-terrorists, and the like.

This is historically impossible to prove, just the opposite.
Have you not heard of the Crusades?

Yes, for a few periods of time there has been eras of relative peace between islam and "the people of the book" (Jews and Christians).

However there is the overriding doctrine of "jihad" in all brands of islam.

islam cannot not rest until they have realized the global strategy of their prophet to bring the entire world into "submission" by whatever means possible including "jihad" and the resultant bloodshed.

Their favorite tactic is to provoke a people or cuture to anger then blame the provoked for the "retaliation" of the provokee.

So with your attitude crabtownboy turn the other cheek and then be prepared (perhaps in your own lifetime) to have your head and the heads of your family members handed to you on a silver islamic platter (unless of course you "submit" to the "Religion of Peace").

Actually "turning the other cheek" and "going the extra mile", etc... is clearly a teaching which involves a non life threatening situation.

Personally, I am don't have that kind of Christian attitude and neither should you (and I suspect you wouldn't) when it comes to protecting the lives of my family members.

Like someone has already said, they have already been enraged at "the Great Satan" (That is their name for us) by their sheikhs and imams.

Crabby wouldn't dare eat a ham sandwich! It may offend his Moslem brethren! I'm sure he also makes sure to lay down to mecca five times each day as to not offend. It's also quite possible he requires his wife to wear a veil, as once again, he is afraid to offend his brothers.

Wow, you're being mean today. CTB is a Christian and he wants Muslims to become Christians.
