The democrat party platform for 2008 had the following plank regarding the slaughter of the unborn genteelly referred to as Reproductive Health Care.

We oppose the current Administration’s consistent attempts to undermine a woman’s ability to make her own life choices and obtain reproductive health care, including birth control. We will end health insurance discrimination against contraception and provide compassionate care to rape victims. We will never put ideology above women’s health.

Given the above Christians who voted for Obama should not lie about their support for abortion. One of Obama's first acts as president was to restore financial aid to Reproductive Health Clinics in foreign countries, reversing the policy by President Bush.

While I am not a "single issue" voter, I can clearly see how one can get there... especially in the case of abortion.

I find it interesting that the 2008 reference mentions not only "reproductive health care" but also "birth control." Everything that was posted above about the Democrats and abortion is 100% true, and those that support such garbage will be held accountable.

But make no mistake about it. Republican hands are dripping with the blood of the innocent. Superficial attempts to appear to oppose abortion are not good enough. For eight years, they had a Republican President, Republican Congress, and a conservative Supreme Court, and nothing was done to stop the slaughter. Republicans will flap their jaws around election time about moral values and abortion. Enter Foley, Vitter, Sanford, Ensign, and Craig. So much for the moral values. Republicans are in essence using innocent blood to purchase votes.

Actions like limiting federal funds for abortion is a red herring. The fact is that the slaughter continues unabated. Who cares who pays for the evil? Evil is evil. At the very least the worthless outgoing administration could have forced the issue before the Supreme Court, which might have remanded it back to the states. They did not even lift a finger to do that. They had the power, and the votes and did nothing.

So when all you self righteous Republicans get a belly full of what is being dished out now, (and it is your fault this administration is in power for tolerating a liberal, inept administration for the last eight years), then maybe it will get through your thick heads that repeating the same old cycle is not the answer. But you won't. You will attach yourselves to another pseudo conservative from the Republican Party in 2012, and it will start all over again.

The Obama adminstration is good enough for every one of you Republican apologists. It is exactly what you deserve.

There is complete logic in it. They had the votes, and they had the power. What they did not have is the passion, moral bearing, or intelligence to pass the legislation. Again, this is nothing but giving liberal Republicans a pass because they are Republicans. If you have a Republican Congress and a Republican President, how do you not pass your agenda? It is nothing but exchanging votes to win power in exchange for blood.

that is right. How can anyone see the slaughter of unborn children and say this issue alone is a deal breaker. Why is murder not a deal breaker, why is ripping a child apart limb by limb not a deal breaker, where has this callousness come from in the Christian community? It is sick and disgusting. What you disagree with is whether or not abortion should ever be supported. If it is not a singular deal breaker for voting for someone then you deserve no respect. This putrid practice is should be opposed at all costs. The ripping apart from limb by limb of children is hideous and should not be mingled in with political tools such as the mantra "I am not a one issue voter". Such callousness is ungodly and the indoctrination that one must undergo to be made to hold that position is not natural. Why our hearts do not break for the dismemberment of unborn children by use of metal surgical tools and a vacum is needs to be answered.

It depends on what the single issue is...

IOWS, I may agree with the candidate on all issues, but there may be something, one issue, in that person's life, that would keep me from voting for him or her.

For some instances of single issues that would keep me from voting for the candidate, and the reasons they should not be overlooked:

• Known to take bribes (Can't be trusted with small things, I am not going to trust him with big things.
• Supports racism (America is just not for one race)
• Marital infidelity (Again, the trust issue.. )
• Spouse abuser (Anger and control issues)

NOW... I don't care if that candidate can get us out of this recession, and end all wars, etc.. if they fall into one of those categories.. I would not vote for them... Would you?

For the ones that voted for Obama... If he abused Michelle, or was known for taking bribes, could you in good faith have voted for him? If that one issue would stop you from voting for him, then that makes you a one-issue voter.

NOW... Let's look at abortion. A person that supports abortion supports the killing of innocent life.. And in my eyes, does not have the respect for human life it would take to be in a leadership role to govern human life.

If the candidate doesn't value human life, then the decisions he or she makes will hurt our country.

What may be some issues that would keep you from voting for a candidate? I know you have some, and if you do, that makes you a single issue voter.
