I love to teach my children things about Jesus through that Christmas tree -

The tree is an evergreen because God is forever. He has always been here and always will be here.

We put lights on the stars to remember that it must have been a beautiful starry night the night Jesus was born.

We put the angel on the top of the tree to remember the angels who spoke to Mary, Joseph and the shepherds.

Each and every decoration on our tree has special sigificance to us - from the babies being born, to our first house purchase, to special memories from childhood (I have a small "Twas the Night Before Christmas" because my grandfather read that to us every Christmas eve as a child). It shows how much God has blessed us through the years with His unfailing love.

We have a tree skirt with the Nativity on it - and then we put an additional Nativity set under the tree - and we remember the greatest gift that was ever given to us was given to us that night in Bethlehem so many years ago - but it is still fresh and alive for us today.

What a wonderful testimony to my children - and they totally know the TRUE meaning of Christmas - NOT that druids decorated trees or anything like that. Trust me, Satan has no hold on our Christmas.

I wonder if druids drive cars, live in houses, use electricity and have children? If they do should we Christians abstain from these things because these pagans do them?

Don't people get tired of carrying that heavy load of legalism?

    Matthew 11:28
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest

But if you give Jesus your load, you are not able to brag about how you are carrying it.

I used to be trapped under the load of legalism...Praise God Christ set me free!

Probably not, but I bet he didn't hesitate to lead out with one. That's got to be where the rest of us clergy got that from....

Years ago I joined the male chorus. The musician had each of us sing a bit so he could place us in the chorus. He told me and another guy to sing filler. Neither of us understood but later he explained. Normally in a 30 voice chior there are 5 to 10 people who can sing. The rest sing "filler" and just make up the "voices"...

Well, my biggest compliment was the day my dad said, "he's loud! That's for sure."
