This is probably one of the most normal things that the Unification Church has done, in comparison to their past exploits.

It's Christ's Church, not mine or yours. He is the Architect and we are merely builders, following His plan. I stand on pretty firm ground when I confidently say, blessing AR-15s is not the mission Christ gave His Church to accomplish.

Local congregations do not have the right to go outside the bounds of what Christ prescribed. Their autonomy begins and ends there.
Simply ask for scripture

And the beat goes on....

A man wears a crown and suit as he holds an unloaded weapon at the World Peace and Unification Sanctuary in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania, on Feb. 28, 2018. Worshippers at the controversial Sanctuary were encouraged to bring their rifles to Wednesday morning's commitment ceremony following a brewing nationwide movement to restrict certain firearms and accessories in wake of a fatal shooting of a Florida high school.
