all is fair in love and war... and debate and discussion (at least in the threads I start). I have hijacked and run so many threads off topic that it is only right that mine should from time to time. No harm, no foul.

And I do enjoy all the suggestions and ideas, and the chance to advertise.

I believe there's always room for improvement (that goes for any website out there), but I will say that your site looks as good or better than most small to medium Church sites I've seen. It's a lot easier to navigate than many I've seen.

I do like the pictures of the street preaching. Some people say it's kooky to do that. I say it's boldy doing what we're supposed to be doing, and my hat's off to you guys for doing it.

While I don't care for the pictures (as we discussed before) It is the right thing to do to include them since that is what your church stands for...

Your website is informative about your church.

2 free programs that you can use are Joomla and Drupal. We're using Drupal for our church website and it's working really well. Our site is still under construction (aren't they all?) but you can see it at www.nbc.org

    HTH!

I think you'll find the easy to use. Good luck.

You can get some nice templates at www.oswd.org

I bought Macromedia Homesite 5 a few years ago I have no problems sharing my software with you if you wish.

As long as you do not pass it on.

    Let me know.

Hey thanks for the invite. I am home this week with the new baby and am trying not to do much with the site this week other than add sermons, but I will try to look into the template site (always looking for good suitable ones) and I will try to check out the Homesite software and reviews very soon. Thanks again.

Why is it OK for you to pass it on, but not for Bro. Williams to do the same? If the liscense for the software restricsts it to your use then you should not pass it along, if it is shareware or freeware then the liscense would usually allow anyone to pass it along.

I don't have Frontpage, so I don't know which aspects of the site are part of the template. Perhaps it would look dated to someone who has been using those same templates for many years, but not to me.

SiteGenWiz is a easy to use one also. There are both a Free Version and a Paid version. If you can use Word you can use this.

Nvu is one I will have to look at, tho I can not see it being easier than SGW.

    As for this...

"I bought Macromedia Homesite 5 a few years ago I have no problems sharing my software with you if you wish. As long as you do not pass it on."

If you are transferring the rights, and have removed it from your system, that is fine. But if you are burning a copy for him and are still using it, it is theft. I hope I am wrong, because it is really hard to find any type of Christian board that are not loaded with hypocrites.......no offences meant at all...just wondering....it looks like a nice board!

When I first developed our church website I sued sitegenwiz. You are right it is very easy to use, and is a great starter application if you don't know HTML. However, the format of your page is very restrictive and you don't get to create your own file names for your pages the app does it for you. This might not be true in the paid version, but it is in the free one.

I learned alot from using sitegenwiz, but now I want more freedom of design so I am using Nvu.

If you learned so much from using sitegenwiz, why did you sue them?

Alright, I haven't had a chance to use the new software yet, other than to scan it.

I therefore have not had any chance to try it out and see if it is something the church would be interested in or not. I do though, appreciate the pointers.

We have however, added a new line of "sermons" to the site. We have been blessed to have the ability to recently acquire a small spot (30 minutes) on a local radio station. We have two of those broadcasts available on the site as of now, and these should be added weekly, Lord willing.
