Gasoline will still be bought at non-CITGO stations that also employ hardworking Americans that are being hurt by the socialist policies of our federal government that have become so onerous since the 1960s.

That's one thing I can say about Citgo, they can't outsource any jobs.

It's one think American's are having trouble making ends meet then big business is given incentives for sending jobs to other countries.

There goes American pride (or if that word hurts Christian sensibilities, read dignity). Now every stupid socialist and every lowlife jihadist Muslim can come to America and call whoever happens to be president Satan or maybe even a pig right before national television and right before a gathering of nations, and we'll bow our heads and swallow the insult and retreat to a corner and sniffle there.

My own home country has swallowed its pride long ago when its own government started being the official "recruiters" sending Filipino college graduates abroad to wipe the butts of Arabs children and to clean their houses for them. It's one of the reasons I left that country, the primary one being that my wife was already here and we just don't go for divorce.

If we don't stand up to cockroaches like this Venezuelan president, we're going down that road too.

This is not about Bush.

This is about the American Presidency, and ultimately about the American people.

My brother-in-law and I have not been buying anything from 7-11 since we found out the CITGO company was practically owned by Venezuela. And we've been doing that for a couple of years now.

Pinoy sounds as if you are going through a lot of angst...you fly a flag on this board I would guess of your so called home country ..fine...but then
you leave it ..and you have the power of Jesus Christ to overcome and fight the good fight in your home country but yet you leave it and come here and fly that flag...again nothing personal but it seems like a lot of angst on your part...why not be an empowered believer go back to your country and do your part instead of and excuse me but it looks as if you

As with Hugo Chavez ...bush and him were buddies back in 2000 and 2001 then came the coup and Chavez blamed bush for that(history will write that final chapter) so Chavez has had it out for bush ever since but at one point they were buddies with an invitation from both to visit each other...how soon we forget the real story and what happens to cause a person to leave a friendship.

As for addiction to oil ...if you really want to support terrorist buy Saudi Oil????? don't you know that some of this money trickles to right wing jihadist...or wahabists sympathies...the real solution is to lose our addiction to oil and look to the heartland once again.

You know nothing about me and what I've done for and gone through for my country except my handle on this board and the flag that I put in there. So it's the Filipino flag, so what ? I left my country because the alternative would be to live apart from my wife, who was here, had no plans to go back home, which might end in a divorce.

Well, I owe you no explanation, but if it'll help you sleep, I did not want to come here. Not that I hated the USA, far from it. First, yes, I love my country as I hope everyone of whichever country loves his, even Chavez, and, hopefully, you.

But my wife came here from Saudi Arabia, and did not want to go back to the Philippines. She had been with me thru thick and thin, mostly thin, and I did not have the heart to tell her "come home" with nothing better to offer than more thin, in the light of economic difficulties there.

Tell me, my critic, would you demand that your wife stick it out with you in a difficult place where the future is bleak, when here is an opportunity for her to live a better life ? And, oh, yes, by the way, case you're wondering, we came here through the front door, not the back door. God supplied everything we needed, poor as we were, to process our papers. My wife was just a seamstress then earning $7.50/hour here, and I was a passenger vehicle driver in the Philippines, earning the equivalent of $5.00 a day. And if that wasn't God working His will in our lives, I don't know anything anymore.

As for doom and gloom, well, like I said, you know next to nothing about what I've already gone through to try to bring about change, so you're not qualified in that area.

But let me tell you, I do not believe that God will move to make things better for my country, or yours, because His kingdom is not of this world, and the benefits He has promised to His people are eternal and spiritual, not temporal and material.

My anger is not against my country, but against those who run it, who are corrupt, self-serving, and have no feelings at all for the people. I do not believe that a true Filipino nationalist, one who truly loves the country, will ever come to power higher than that of a Senator, because such a man is contrary to US interests.

Second, I do not believe in true, no strings attached independence being "granted". It must be fought for, and blood must flow. Which means ? Revolution. Armed struggle. Lost lives. The US's own history attests to that, France's history attests to that, England's history attests to that, China's history attests to that, Cuba's history attests to that.

The Christian's own freedom was bought with blood, albeit the blood of the Son of God.

And I would still be in that state of mind, and where I used to be, if God in His providence did not pull me out of where I was, and make me understand that there are better countries to hope for, where He is the Supreme ruler. Would you advise I go and take up arms against the legitimate, albeit corrupt and elitist, government ?

So in other words, you concur with Chavez' suspicion that Bush engineered the coup ? Whose coup ? Who was "dethroned" ? Was it Chavez ? Of it was chavez, how come he's still president ?Do you have proof that Bush engineered the coup ?

We have all left a home country, including Americans at one time in history. This does not mean we abandon our mother country nor lose that first love.

At one point we settle where we are,,,wherever that may be. We are pilgrims of God and strangers in any country.

I defend the UK with all my heart, and yet I know I will never live there again. I love Canada far too much and expect I will die here.

I was reading about the Lithuanians after communism invaded their country. They were strong Catholics. On one hill they had built many crosses of wood, stone and metal. The communists destroyed them all. The very next day there were new crosses built on that hill....It represented who they were. To this day, there are crosses on that hill. We should all have a heart for our homeland, even though we move along in our journeys on earth.
