Hot air balloon pilot in big trouble with pastor after emergency landing on church's dirt lot:

The naughty trespasser was part of this :

Clovis Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly Weekend
You’ll want to arrive very early on Saturday and Sunday to ensure a good vantage point to watch these beauties launch. Most often, our balloon pilots begin inflating around 6:15 am and plan for liftoff around 7:00 am, weather permitting. Visitors will be able to enjoy delicious breakfast items while they wait for the festivities to begin...

Ridiculousness. That church just lost any claim to being a welcoming, friendly church.

Not as ridiculous as one might think if the church wants the balloonists not to think of their empty lot as an emergency landing zone. This kind of festival is probably one big beer bust and secular holiday that that church wants no part of.

It happens once a year. Church should put a big sign out in their lot pointed to the sky, "No Landing Zone".

Good idea. But, keep in mind, if this landing had gone sideways, guess who the balloonists or their heirs would have sued for whatever reason their lawyers could think of.

Don’t know enough details, but on the surface this pastor’s reaction would NOT be very encouraging to me to become a “CHRISTIAN”, if I were not one already!

Wasn't there a funeral session/service involved in this conflict?
Yes, I assume inside the building. I don't think it was an outdoor service.
Yeah, that's the story the "Reverend Chester L. McGensy, D.D., Senior Pastor" gave in an official statement on their facebook:

Facebook - Family Community Church Fresno, CA

But as commenters noted:

Was there really a funeral?...it definitely did not look as if a funeral was going on. There were not very many cars. I’m just curious.
there was no funeral at the time, it wasn't until 3 hours after
The pilot landed at around 8:30a. The funeral was scheduled for 11:30. The pilot is on KMJ right now
I have to call malarkey on your statement after hearing from the pilot....it is obvious that your pastor's hot air probably equals what was in the balloon.

From what I read, the church's property is an attractive place for balloonists to land. For many various and sundry good reasons, the church doesn't allow them to land. One team does land and doesn't get themselves and their gear off the property in a timely manner. The police who were chasing the balloon get involved.
