Climate Change

It is sad that so many Christians are disobedient to God’s first command to man to steward creation and sees destruction and making a place unliveable for future generations as what God intended by ruling or reigning.

Gen 1:28-29

Gen 2:15
I’m all for being good stewards of the land.

The modern environmental movement has nothing to do with stewardship. It’s all about destroying the USA and replacing capitalism with socialism/communism.

peace to you

I guess if it helps you sleep at night to believe that so you can justify the destruction of the planet God has given us and future generations.

It is amazing the terrible things people are willing to do to others and themselves as long as it is framed to them as opposing their supposed enemies.

And before Gen 1:28-29 & 2:15 even before Gen 1:4 the following was, the plan.

Where was the devil, Satan when Gen 2:15 took place? Licking his chops?

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 1 Peter 1:18-20
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Rev 13:8

Heb 1:2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;

Heb 2:6-8 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man (Adam), that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man (Why is this singular, why is it not sons of man), that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

Why? Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 1 Cor 15:50 - Is it because Adam was created flesh and blood?

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Are you suggesting we go back to the 13 hundreds when there was virtually no pollution.

And you got THIS from this quote????? "I’m all for being good stewards of the land.

I can appreciate that you may not agree, but this is plain flat lying to use this quote to garner your response!
I'm sure Adam Shiff would be very proud of you.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

You mean like forcing a medical experiment on the masses, & now they want the children too? The ‘good’ CDC says we have to administer the shot to find out how it works. Not the way we used to do things…….brave new world.

I received the polio vax from Dr. Salk himself when I was age 7 & it was still somewhat experimental. The covid vax was much-better-researched than the polio vax was for a good while.

I’m suggesting that when we see that our individual and collective actions are destroying God’s creation, we try to obey scripture to steward His creation so that the earth is liveable for future generations.

We have the technology to reduce our environmental impact on the world. We just need the political will to use it and part of that is Christians wanting to obey scripture rather than their political leaders.

Reflexively being opposed to environmental conservation aimed at protecting the earth and land we all share just because someone else has told you that “those people” are commies and socialists is like cutting off your leg because you were told that it looked like the leg of your enemy.

If you oppose socialism, then oppose environmental solutions that are socialist. If you see all solutions as socialist, maybe your political values are actually harmful to the world and opposed to God’s call for stewardship of creation. But we should all be trying to steward the earth God has given us, which canadyjd did say they support.

Repeat post #25; as this reply answers none of the objection raised in that post!!:Rolleyes

Syracuse, NY ( Latitude 43 degrees)
This was in the late 50's, early 60's.
A lot of the snow comes from lake effect.
Thanks. We were in Fort Kent, a few miles above 47N, and averaged 134"/year but essentially no lake effect snow though we'd get wrap-around snow after coastal storms.

I did understand that. My point is the 11 year cycle has only been recently observed and may not reflect longer cycles that haven’t been observed.

peace to you
I think the 11-year sunspot cycle was discovered not all that long after sunspots themselves were known. It's the longer cycles like the Dalton and Maunder minima that are more recent discoveries.

I am sticking to my statement that if man was causing global warming, it would've been manifest long before now.

My views on biblical stewardship of our Resourses doesn’t effect my sleep at all. My enlarged prostate is another issue.

I have seen the “terrible things” people do to others in the cause of environmentalism. Maybe you are aware of spiking trees, burning cars on car lots, attempting to destroy farmers by frivolous lawsuits, deliberate corruption of science and destroying the careers of scientists who disagree with “global warming”, threats and intimidation, physical assaults and so on.

I hope you are outraged by the actions of these “environmentalists”

peace to you

I agree on the enlarged prostate. Taking finasteride, tamsulosin, saw palmetto, & stinging nettle root extract for it now.
There are a lot more germs on our one hand than there are people on the earth, & each hand goes right on functioning. Now, if there was a concerted effort to actually harm the earth, it'd succeed up to a point, but our unintentional acts can't really harm it. After all, it went right on after WW2.

Climate Change pushers are like a cult but God never changes: “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will NEVER cease.” Genesis 8:22 emphasis mine

Even if global cooling, er… global warming, er… climate change were legitimately the sole responsibility of mankind, it would not follow that the utterly wasteful and extremely corrupt political "solutions" the powers that be are constantly attempting to foist on the American people and others in the West are in any way legitimate, though they are often wildly successful in wreaking ever more destruction.

There is ample evidence that the powers that be either don't have a clue or don't even care or both.

Just the fact that they went from hollering "Global COOLing!" to hollering "Global WARMing!" before hollering the nebulous "Climate Change!" should be enough to warn off any sensible person. When those in power finally calm it down, drop all of the political rhetoric, and sensibly address the issues, then there can be fruitful discussion. Not holding my breath.
