CNN reported Monday evening that the U.S. government, under President Barack Obama, had wiretapped Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort — both during after the 2016 presidential campaign.

CNN Admits Trump Campaign Was Wiretapped: Breitbart News and Mark Levin Right, Mainstream Media Wrong - Breitbart

Unlike one of Trumps biggest distractors on this forum, his name is like one of those shell fish treats at a good sea food restaurant, who was one of the Presidents real big distractors, I never doubted his claim. I doubt is seafood boy will issue an apology for his claims of Trump being paranoid, even though he should switch to eating forl, and have a stuffed crow under glass with a loaded baked potato!

I do not believe he will be able to. I think he was banned.

Trump vindicated!

Trump tweeted that "Obama had my wires tapped in Trump Tower just before my victory."
He also tweeted that "Obama tapped my phones during the very sacred election process."

So now it turns out that Paul Manafort had his phones tapped, something just about everyone thought was what happened.

Well, Paul Manafort is not Trump, so Trump's claim that Obama tapped his phones (Trump's) during the election process is not vindicated.
Furthermore, I doubt that Manafort's phones were tapped inside Trump Tower, more likely his cell phone calls were intercepted.

So, Trump vindicated? Hardly.
However, the MSM contention that this wire-tapping thing was a loony conspiracy theory? Yes, proven wrong.

Trumps original tweet was "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!"

Manafort lived in Trump Tower.

Manafort lived in Trump Tower.

I did not know Manafort lived in Trump Tower.

In any event "Obama had my wires tapped in Trump Tower" is not the same as Paul Manafort had his wires tapped in his apartment in Trump Tower. Also, it's likely that Manafort's cell phone calls were monitored, not his home phone in Trump Tower.

No, if they have a wiretap on you, they can tap into any phone you use at any location. You are over-analyzing again.

If you own a hotel and sometimes live in the building and someone wiretaps any suite of the hotel, your hotel is wire-tapped.

I don't think so. If you are using a landline telephone, which is probable with the phones used in Trump Tower apartments, that requires a physical listening device attachment somewhere on the line. Could be at Trump Tower itself, could be at a telephone line substation junction point, could be at a telephone line switching station. If Manafort leaves his Trump Tower apartment and goes to Harry's Bar and uses their phone, they cannot monitor his conversation on that phone unless it too, was tapped.

At least that is my understanding.

But a cell phone call can be intercepted by tuning into the microwave radio signals between the phone and the cell tower.

If you own a hotel and sometimes live in the building and someone wiretaps any suite of the hotel, your hotel is wire-tapped.

Sure, in the broad sense of the phrase. Trump needs to use better sentence structure. Saying "Obama tapped my phones at Trump Tower" gives the image that Trump's personal telephones were tapped, not that room 1178 was tapped.

But CNN just admitted Trump was right, they didn't own up to the fact that they were wrong.

I didn't say it clearly enough myself - I meant that the court gave whoever did this authority to wire-tap any phone from any location, which is about what you said.

Trump SHOULD use better sentence structure, his tweets especially are often ambiguous and vague, but I don't think he ever will. Trump seems unfazed by imprecise language to the point sometimes I think he is doing so deliberately.

And who do you think Manafort was talking with at least some of the time.

The POTUS.

Therefore they were both tapped.

I know you're not dense (though you evidently believe Trump to be), but you really need to be listening to Rush or Hannity or Fox News (and others) in order to stay abreast of this. Metaphorically, Trump was 100% correct, he WAS indeed being surveilled, illegally, by the Obama administration, even though he referred to it as 'wiretapped'. Heads should roll over this (though I'm growing VERY skeptical about Session's complacency in the 'Russia collusion probe', he should've NEVER recused himself, I'm thinking this was a betrayal).

Hide & watch, wait & see, Trump will be vindicated for his statements. It's unfolding NOW.

Trump was right, he was being illegally surveilled

When the news broke I posted several times that I believed members of Trump's campaign staff were indeed being surveilled. I stated I doubted that Trump himself was being wiretapped. I thought that was the default understanding--Trump's campaign aides wiretapped, Trump not wiretapped. I never bought into the MSM fixation of falsely accusing Trump that he thought it was an electronic device placed on a wire.

And, no thank you, I don't need to listen to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, or Fox News.

...Trump not wiretapped.
...

Still don't get it, do you?

Maybe I was wrong about you. Maybe you ARE dense.

And you should expand your horizons and include info from the 'other side'. You'll be much more 'balanced' if you do.

Did you think he meant that Obama personally did the tapping?

You can bet he received a transcript, thumb drive or both.

"Trump not wiretapped." Since the tap was done between some of the Manafort and Trump conversations both Manafort and Trump were tapped.
