CNN is now hope bashing

CNN raised eyebrows on Friday over an analysis piece that claimed President Trump was peddling "unsubstantiated hope" amid the national emergency sparked by the coronavirus outbreak.

In the article titled "Trump peddles unsubstantiated hope in dark times," CNN politics reporter Stephen Collinson suggested that the president is being too optimistic in the battle against the deadly virus.

"To fight the coronavirus, President Donald Trump is adopting the audacity of false hope," Collinson began. "For the past two days, Trump has said he is dispensing 'game changer' breakthroughs on treatments and a wartime-style effort to mass produce medical supplies that appear as rays of light amid America's darkening battle against the coronavirus pandemic. His eagerness for remedies no doubt reflects a sincere desire to deliver Americans from the nightmare of lockdowns, fear for loved ones and atmosphere of national trauma."

Collinson then argued that it's "becoming clear" that the president's rhetoric is "an emerging political strategy" since he can't hold campaign rallies, "so he's just moved them into the White House briefing room."

Wonder if CommunistNewsNetwork will cover this story, where Italy is no longer treating anyone over 60? Of course socialist medicine is only covered in a positive light, always wonderful.
Israeli doctor in Italy: We no longer help those over 60

The UK is about the same. Medicare could be iffy in a disaster since it is underfunded.

If the GOP throws us into a depression with this lockup, they are going to pay the price in November.

What's up with Italy? First they were refusing to treat 80+, then 70+, now 60+? Keep going, and they'll only be treating ten year olds.

Guess is like the run on toilet tissue, demand exceeds supply, but with Italy, it can be deadly. That country is a mess, I have heard rumors that the government there is doing what some African countries did with the AIDS epidemic - any death related to AIDS at all was classified as an AIDS death.

So people smoke more in Italy, and they're older to boot, still shouldn't make this much difference. Supposedly, there were a load of Chinese guest workers in Italy, and some of them were from Hunan. The was this:

"Hug an infected person", not so smart in retrospect. By the way, CNN is almost always negative in tone now. they have not promoted hope since Obama ran in 2008. Doom and gloom are their stock in trade.
