CNNs misinformation about kids with covid

Of course, you hope no child gets infected, but that’s not reality. While concerning that there was an uptick in infections among children, there’s still no need to panic. CNN tried to do this recently:

Children now represent more than a quarter -- or 26.8% -- of weekly Covid-19 cases nationwide, according to data released Tuesday from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
The update comes as schools across the US have been in session or are getting into full swing. Experts have encouraged adults to get vaccinated to protect young children returning to the classroom.
"If we want to protect the children, particularly those who are not yet eligible for vaccination, you want to surround the children with people who are vaccinated -- teachers, school personnel, everyone else," Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Tuesday.
Some 251,781 child cases of Covid-19 were reported in the past week (August 26-September 2). That number represents more than a quarter of the 939,470 cases total that were reported over that period.

We've lost 30 children and 29,167 adult in my area way less than 25%). We have some on ventilators and some on heart-lung bypass as they struggle with covid. They need our prayers.

When a child is found to be covid positive in a school they quarantine the whole class. I noticed last year they started reporting quarantined as if they were covid cases.

My wife was quarantined because she had a headache. She took the test and it was negative but could not go back until 14 days were up unless cleared by a doctor. It would have taken 2 weeks to be seen so she stayed at home.. with pay. The kicker is the school system received federal dollars in covid relief for those quarantined.

Putting someone on a ventilator is a virtual death sentence. I question the protocols of hospitals in withholding Ivermectin. India has experienced wonderful success in areas where Ivermectin is made available.

I abhor the practice of putting people on Remdesivir. It damages multiple organs and hastens the death of so many.

I have 2 friends that recovered from ventilators....my wife has 2 coworkers still on them.

I suspect the issue with Ivermectin is liability. Merch is one of the main pharmaceutical companies supplying the medication and their position is it is not intended to treat covid. Add to that the recommended dose for serious covid cases (by many physicians) is over 150 to 200 mg every 3 to 6 months things can get complicated.

I understand people wanting to use these drugs - but at the same time they have not been proven effective in a control group (the evidence is far less than the evidence people reject as sufficient for the vaccines.

Without a study you cannot know if the drug is what helped in the recovery.
