Cohen to Testify Against Trump

Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former lawyer, will for the first time publicly accuse the president of criminal conduct while in office related to a hush-money payment to a porn star, a person familiar with his planned testimony before Congress said.

Appearing on Wednesday before the House Oversight Committee, Mr. Cohen also will make public some of Mr. Trump’s private financial statements and allege that Mr. Trump at times inflated or deflated his net worth for business and personal purposes, including avoiding paying property taxes, the person said. The financial statements were developed by Mr. Trump’s accountant, the person said. The Wall Street Journal hasn’t seen those statements.

Mr. Cohen’s testimony is expected to focus on his “behind-the-scenes” accounts of working for Mr. Trump for over a decade, a period during which Mr. Cohen will say he witnessed “lies, racism and cheating” by Mr. Trump, the person said.

Mr. Cohen is expected to recount racist remarks Mr. Trump allegedly made to him, including instances in which Mr. Trump allegedly questioned the intelligence of African-Americans and criticized their lifestyle choices, the person said.

Mr. Cohen’s planned testimony comes 13 months after The Wall Street Journal first reported that Mr. Cohen paid $130,000 in October 2016 to former adult-film star Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels, to buy her silence after she alleged having a sexual encounter with Mr. Trump.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders in a statement called Mr. Cohen a “disgraced felon” and noted that he had previously pleaded guilty for lying to Congress and making other false statements.

Sadly, he will go before Congress this week and we can expect more of the same,” she said. “It’s laughable that anyone would take a convicted liar like Cohen at his word, and pathetic to see him given yet another opportunity to spread his lies".

He's testifying. But he's not testifying against Trump. He doesn't know anything about Trump and collusion. If he did, it would already have been leaked by Mueller's gang of thugs. He doesn't even know of anything Trump did that was illegal, or it would already have been leaked.

This hearing is not about anything more than keeping the narrative alive.

Apparently you didn't read his opening statement.

I also knew that nothing went on in Trump world, especially the campaign, without Mr. Trump’s knowledge and approval. So, I concluded that Don Jr. was referring to that June 2016 Trump Tower meeting about dirt on Hillary with the Russian representative when he walked behind his dad’s desk that day -- and that Mr. Trump knew that was the meeting Don Jr. was talking about when he said, “That’s good...let me know.”***

Cohen's opening statement.

OK granted it was hearsay innuendo which in many cases and for a great segment of the public is the Gospel which proves both our points as it certainly is a delight to the ears of Trump haters, RINOS NeoCons, Socialists and Communists.

[Regarding Cohen's opening statement]

OK granted it was hearsay innuendo...
Some of it has already been demonstrated in court. Mr. Cohen also brought evidence.

...it certainly is a delight to the ears of Trump haters, RINOS NeoCons, Socialists and Communists.
I suppose there may be some people out there who are delighted. Among everyone I know who recognizes the corruption of our President, this is horrifying. This testimony continues to support the evidence that we have an amoral President who will use his power for personal gain and the gain of his friends.

Much of the hostile questioning today attacks the credibility of Cohen. That can be an effective tactic if there is no evidence, but there is plenty of evidence.

If a pathological liar and murderer leads police to the body he buried, will the police deny that the body exists simply because the murderer has a poor track record of credibility? Of course not. Cohen's words should be based on what they reveal -- based on objective reality -- not whether or not we like Cohen.

Cohen is drawing a map to find the bodies. Will you deny their existence if they are discovered? If so, then you are denying reality.

If what is being presented is even partially true, he is certainly not "an excellent president[sic]."

He certainly is "an excellent president". A very energetic president that has gotten more accomplished for the common U.S. citizen in two years than most others have in two terms.

Not unless you prefer criminals for Presidents.

Criminal? The criminal is the star witness of the Democrats that has already lied to congress. All this is a Democrat socialist globalist elitist never ending smear job to embarrass him all the way up to 2020 election day, and possibly to justify impeaching him.

Well maybe, if you guys can ever get any indictments through and get him to court. And find him guilty.

So far, Trump has been a great President.

In the Opening Statement: "Never in a million years did I imagine, when I accepted a job in 2007 to work for Donald Trump, that he would one day run for President, launch a campaign on a platform of hate and intolerance, and actually win. I regret the day I said “yes” to Mr. Trump. I regret all the help and support I gave him along the way"

My Highlight. I have seen no real evidence of the Hate and Intolerance referenced here. Trump, his campaign and his presidency has been the target of more one-sided reporting, more hateful rhetoric, more threats of violence to him his family and his officials, more intolerant language and action and more plain unvarnished disrespect than any president in my memory.
I am 55 years Old and remember Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama. All experienced disrespect and even hatred to one degree or another. All experienced opposition by the opposing party. None has faced the degree of outright hatred Donald Trump has dealt with from the first announcement of his campaign.
Trump is not perfect.I do not excuse his language or moral failings. I do not pretend that he is "pure as the driven snow".
But as of now, He is the President of these United States and I will continue to pray for him, I will continue to support him in the right things he does for our County. I will continue to hold him accountable for his misdeeds. I will continue to be aggravated at his too frequent childish behavior.
As I Did For The Other Men Who Served As President, In Obedience To My Understanding Of The Word Of God.

1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
13 ¶ Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

Too often we Christians have denigrated those in authority over us. As I tell my congregation, 'If you want a better pastor/preacher pray harder for me!" If we want a better president, lets commit to pray hard for the Lord to work in Donald Trump's life and through him to be a blessing to our nation and the world.

"You guys?" I am not part of the investigation or prosecution. Sounds like you think I'm on some sort of team and the President's supporters are on another. I'm not playing team sports here. I was formerly a Republican until the party put forth Donald Trump as their candidate. I am not a Democrat or with any other party. I am simply a concerned American.

ALL OF US need to step away from party loyalties and be concerned Americans. Better yet, we should all be faithful Christians who will rejoice when truth is revealed and when justice is served.

Yes. I am only about a year younger than you, and this statement is quite accurate.

Trump is not perfect.I do not excuse his language or moral failings. I do not pretend that he is "pure as the driven snow".
I'm glad you don't. I wish I could say the same for many Christians I know. I can understand why people Christians for President Trump, but I cannot understand why so many are afraid to point out the President's lies and actions that are contrary to Christian values.

But as of now, He is the President of these United States and I will continue to pray for him, I will continue to support him in the right things he does for our County. I will continue to hold him accountable for his misdeeds. I will continue to be aggravated at his too frequent childish behavior.
I agree with all of this. I continue to pray for him and I support the right things he does for our country, although I'm sure we might disagree on what those things might be. And I also seek to hold him accountable for his misdeeds, which is what the whole Special Counsel Investigation is about.

Too often we Christians have denigrated those in authority over us. As I tell my congregation, 'If you want a better pastor/preacher pray harder for me!" If we want a better president, lets commit to pray hard for the Lord to work in Donald Trump's life and through him to be a blessing to our nation and the world.
I agree wholeheartedly. I also agree that we need to hold him accountable, which involves hearings just like this.

Blessing to you sir!

He lied to banks in order to secure loans.

He’s just mad he didn’t get the chief of staff gig and lashing out. His middle finger to Trump before he begins his three year (so far, they say he purgered himself numerous times this morning) jail sentence.
