I collect hobbies. In the last year I've acquired model building, airbrushing, resin casting, metal machining, pen turning, and now sculpture. Before that it was robotics, electronics, music composition, philosophy, and Victorian literature. I'm out of control...

And oh yeah, Chinese and Indian cooking.

Lately I have amassed together a lot of books, so much so that I dread moving! But thank God relief is in sight! My son-in-law, who is an associate Pastor, asked me to bequeath him those books. [IMG] He said that he'll be happy to take them over! ;)

I have roughly 130 Pez dispensers and a large wall mounted Pez machine.

I also collect Hatch Show Prints and pinball machines.

I have four machines now (and several "backglasses") and I'm restoring two for a collector who's going to give me another machine as payment.

They're actually a great investment because you can pick them up dirt cheap and, once they're restored, can go for a lot of money.

Like most collectors, though, I don't collect them for the money but because I love pinball and hate to see it dying.

I am one who by nature hates to throw things away - "I might need it later". As far as actual collections go, I collect:

Annuals, minutes, and yearbooks of Baptist associations and conventions

Hymn books and songs books, specifically shaped-note songbooks of the 19th century, and old Baptist hymn books (less the music)

The quarter series representing the states of the union

Bottles - glass soda bottles that have painted labels (not paper or plastic labels)

Oh! Snowmen! I think snowmen are adorable, and use them to decorate the house during the winter months. There is just something so sweet, jolly, and jovial about them.

I collect CocaCola things. I don't know why, but there's just something about the look of them that I love. I don't have anything that's really valuable (at least I don't think I do) but I have a several things that are pretty cool.

I am a radio announcer, so I've often mentioned my collection on the air, and listeners have been kind enough to bring me stuff!

Just this morning I came into my little broadcasting booth, and there was a Hallmark book that is a CocaCola tribute to Christmas, including several of the famous Sundblom Coca-Cola illustrations...along with a Coca-Cola Santa ornament. I was thrilled, and I still don't know who's responsible.

Another time, a listener gave me a good-sized radio that's shaped like a small Coca-Cola cooler. It's AM/FM,works great, and I use it as my kitchen radio.

I don't avidly pursue this collection...we have two sons in college and money is at a premium...but I enjoy adding to it here and there.

I collect old smithy tools. I have a nice collection of 19th century hammers and hardy tools.

Anvils are my current goal. If you have one lying around with the name 'Budding' or 'Wright', I will happlily haul them away for you, free!

    Toad and Frog figurines

Skulls of animals (nothing Satanic, I'm a science teacher, and use them for instructional purposes)

Old cameras. I like to get them working and use them.

Anyone have anything they'd like to trade?

Elizabeth, I have a couple of unopened 8 oz. glass bottles with the commemorative logo of the 1994 Dallas World Cup printed on them. I just put them up and forgot about them. Are they collectable?

    Hi All,
I collect anything cats...the animal not the musical! :D
I have figurines, jewelry, clothes, and I recently cross-stitched an afghan in a cat theme which really looks nice. It makes it nice though as I am easy to shop for, and we both know I'll love it!
I also collect the real thing...though I only have three right now. [IMG] It's enough, when you can't find room in your own bed to sleep!!
    Hugs,
    ~SeaFlower~

I love Bibles and Christian academic books. I collect Bibles, commentaries, Greek and Hebrew study material, and any serious book on theology. My collection is mostly fueled by my desire. I love to read the Bible, study ancient languages, and read commentaries. I have a HUGE wishlist on Amazon that I am trying to get my five simblings and parents to buy me every Christmas and Birthday (December and June, so twice a year). They don't seem to like to do it though and I only got two books this Christmas. Doe! Have to wait six more months.

I DON'T care much for fiction, or any Christian self-help or Christian apologetics.
