gb93433 , I already know it's hard to teach without those state credentials and accreditations, and that's fine with me. I don't want nor need them. I understand that after I finish school I may not live in the best apartment or home. Money may be tight. But my God will take care of me as long as I am doing what He wants me to do. It's called faith. God takes care of His children.
I've been in public school my whole life and since my salvation I've wished so many times that I were homeschooled or attended Christian school. I've got a captive audiance all right. They're so captive that on occasion I've been spit at, I've had two tires slashed at the same time, I've had my Bible stolen and hid in a trashcan, I've been followed by the Wicken group, threatened by boys while they pushed me against the wall, and had cigarettes put in my bookbag. Now I know there may have been other's who've had worse, but forgive me if I'm not wanting another public school experince. I think I've had the captive audiance long enough. And any of the "Christians" at that place won't have anything to do with me because they think I'm wierd. I havn't exactly found fellowship.
The further in school I've went, the worse it's gotton. I wouln't put myself or anyone else through public school for anything.
I believe I'll stick with a place that puts emphasis on Bible preaching and teaching, a place that has standards, a place that enforces dicipline, and not only all of that, prepares you to serve the Lord in life.
I'm going to teach in a Christian environment, therefore it makes sense to be trained in a Christian place.
There's nothing wrong with a school that refuses a state's acreditations. I admire them for it. If the school is run from a church, they need to keep in mind the seperation of church and state.
Now, please don't think I'm saying public colleges are evil. I'm not. I've never attended so I don't know (and I don't want to). I just know it isn't the place I need to be. I'm going were the Lord leads, and will continue to do so as long as I'm living and in my right mind. (um, if I had a mind that is.) Yes, I don't like public education, but I base that on my experiance.
Maybe other Christians go to school with no problems. For their sake I hope so, and if someone wishes to continue with going on to a public college, great. Just don't think less of a teacher who comes from an unacredited school than you would a teacher from a public school. If a person has God's hand on their life and training to do it, give them a chance to prove themselves.
