Former FBI Director James Comey is set to testify before the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Thursday regarding his firing by President Donald Trump and the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
The committee has released the full text of Comey’s prepared remarks. Read them below:

Chairman Burr, Ranking Member Warner, Members of the Committee. Thank you for inviting me to appear before you today. I was asked to testify today to describe for you my interactions with President-Elect and President Trump on subjects that I understand are of interest to you. I have not included every detail from my conversations with the President, but, to the best of my recollection, I have tried to include information that may be relevant to the Committee.

Actually, it now looks like the tables might be turned on Comey. Trump's lawyer just unleashed on him. I have a feeling he might find himself in the middle of leak-gate.

I'd be scared if I was deep state right now. Trump is patient, but rarely forgets. Once this empty flurry is over, you're going to see some amazing counter punches.

I call 'em as I see 'em. They are the sort of people I don't want on my side of the arguments because they are so shoddy. Should we accept inaccuracy and falsehoods because they are on our side of the political spectrum? I don't think so.

Gateway Pundit published photos of the Cleveland Cavaliers victory parade last year and said they were Yuge Crowds for a Trump Rally. They misinterpreted closed captioning describing a TV audience applauding as a cue meant to cause the crowd to clap. They published a photoshopped picture of Obama with his hand on Melania Trump's butt. They're just terribly inaccurate and serial Trump apologists.

At least Breitbart tries to be accurate.

Comey has done himself far more damage than he intended to do to Trump. Except to the Trump haters pounding him, his innuendos and Hollywood pauses fell completely flat.

What I saw was a very slick creature of politics, hedge his answers like the pro he is to cast doubt where he wanted it cast, without answering a direct question with a direct answer, always with an eye toward putting himself in the best light.

Sounded and looked like he took lessons from Bill and Hillary.

I only saw/heard the highlights but from what I saw I agree with you. Comey is a political pro, as the FBI director must be.

I think the whole controversy can be boiled down to a couple of points:

1. Trump asked Comey to drop the investigation into Flynn because it was proving a distraction. BTW, while inappropriate I don't think this rises to obstruction.

2. When it became evident that Comey wasn't going to do that, Trump wanted Comey to go public with the fact that the FBI wasn't investigating Trump. When he didn't do that Trump fired him.

I think Trump fired him more for #2 than #1.

Really not a whole lot to get all lathered up over.

Some people have integrity and want more from their news sources then lies to make themselves feel better.
