George Neumayr, who is a contributing editor of The American Spectator magazine and author with the late Phyllis Schlafly of a book called No Higher Power: Obama's War On Religious Freedom as well as a new book a year ago entitled The Political Pope: How Pope Francis Is Delighting the Liberal Left and Abandoning Conservatives, has written an article about Comey's Complexes.
Comey, for his college degree at William and Mary (1982?) wrote a sophomoric thesis attacking Fundamentalism and touting New-Orthodoxy, a form of cultic liberal theology.
Specifically, Comey liked Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971), who was a professor at Union Theological Seminary for 30 years and a pacifist and a socialist. Riebuhr disliked the "idolatry" of nationalism, which he thought could become a vice. Niebuhr thought that true religion must be prophetic and void of nationalism, selifishness and pride. (One key feature of neo-orthodoxy is that it does not accept the authority and inspiration of the Scriptures.)
Comey contrasted the superiority of Neo-Orthodoxy over Fundamentalism--particularly Jerry Falwell--which he critized for narrow Christian morality and nationalism expressed as patriotism. Comey found Reagan and Falwell distasteful and vulgar. Comey finds Trump equally vulgar and distasteful.
