Morning all you heads!

I've got the coffee on!

 

I have a problem people! I got up this morning and the window next to my computer was covered with either...

1)Termites
2)Winged ants

I have seen both in the past, but I don't think the ants would be swarming like this.

Anyone have a sure-fire way of telling if they are termites or ants?

I had no bug spray, so I zapped them with hair spray! There are still more coming in at the baseboard. I am going to run and get some bug spray. That will, at least, keep them out of the house until I find out what they are and what I need to do.

They're probably termites. They're out in force here too, and even more likely since there's usually old wood around window frames of most Baptist homes. Don't look at me like that, it's all true! How many Baptists do you know that don't have old wood ledges or frames on their windows?

Thanks Gina! The description on the site you gave me said flying ants have irregular-sized wings and termites have the same sized wings on both sides. (Mine have even wings). But it also said that only the QUEEN has wings. (Everyone I have killed so far has wings). Their antenae point up like the picture of a termite rather than the one of an ant too.

I am saving the best sample and will have hubby take it to the USDA tonight to make sure. I hope I can get a good sample, most of them are stuck to the wood from the hair spray I used.

Just what we needed with the house we just bought and are spending a lot of money on maintenance! Another expense! Of course, they couldn't have swarmed a week ago before we had closing!!!

My first thought was, "Why me Lord". My second thought was, "Why NOT me Lord."

strange, my earlier post has dissappeared. Guess the answer to my question must surely be that everything is the same.........but different??????? Is that clear to every one? we know what is appropriate for this thread without getting into trouble.

Thanks Sue, thats great. I'm not the only cocoa drinker am I? I got some last christmas from one of my customers online, maple nut flavored, was interesting.
Diane, could go with a donut right now. Ever just want something and not know what? Good thing I don't have anyhting in the house. Hum, think I need to go to the store.

It is going on lunch time, but I shall say good morning anyway. Take care everyone. I had a bit of a problem with my email system. It wouldn't allow me to send any messages out,,Had to alter my stmp file or some such thing.

You know who I am? but you have not seen me coming in to the coffee shop from the beginning. No wonder the crime wave is growing here, is there no one who watches the customers?mmmmmm

Yes, I was at the Coffee Shop when you came in the first time. This is the Coffee HOUSE. I try to keep my eye on the customers, but some of them pop in and out so fast...I may miss them.

I am so glad your picture is back. I love bagpipe music and I can just see you playing it from the way your picture looks. Do you play?

 

I am going to fix lunch and spend a few hours playing games with my grandson.

If anyone comes in while I'm gone...help yourself. Everything is FREE here.

Good Afternoon, All. I am taking a break from working....a long break. Cleaned out one closet this morning. That's enough for one day.

I do a really good job of packing stuff into a closet.

I'm trying to keep the house organized while I box stuff for the youth's garage sale. They are raising money to go to Falls Creek Camp.

This is my opportunity to get rid of stuff and help them, too. When I took stuff to the sale, I had to put blinders on so I would not buy anything.

I will hang pictures on the walls tomorrow, Sue.

I think I will put ones of landscapes so that we can dream of far away places...I have a New England Light House, a Carribean beach, Colorado Mountains, and Oklahoma Hills with deer, turkey, squirrls, and geese. A clown for the Children's Corner and a lovely floral for the ladies. AND....I have an old barn and tractor for Blackbird......An English Cottage and garden for Jim and FollowingHim...Maybe Jon will like it too.

Jon my first husband's father was from Scotland and played the bagpipes. That is about all I know about him.

I will also put up my Apple clock, that will remind us of Washington State.

We can sit and dream of traveling without leaving the Coffee House.

Would you like to use my collection of coffee cups? I always get one wherever I travel so that I can have pleasant memories when I drink coffee. Today, my cup says I am in Hawaii.

Oh, this is a very relaxing place. Think I will go take a nap, now.

Thankful, sounds like you have been really busy, and you are ready for a nap. I love cottages and cottage gardens, so I am sure I would love the picture too.

Hi Betty and Sheila! Sorry I missed you. I have been playing a board game "WWJD" with Grandson. Then I cleaned the kitchen. I am just popping in for a few minutes. I am having ribs for supper and I need to get busy on them!

Betty, the pictures sound wonderful! It sounds like you have something for everyone. The picture from Oklahoma sounds good to me. I will sit and daydream about my grandson who is going back to college in OK this fall. Thanks for the offer of cups; but I collect them too and I have over 200.

I will be back on this evening after I get supper over with and the dishes done. It's so neat having a restaurant where the food and drinks are free...no one has to be here to collect money!

I am just slow today, can't seem to get motivated for anyhting. I haven't been sleeping well for several weeks, and I think it has finally caught up with me this week.
I did do a little laundry though. I have a couple of dolls that have been begging to have their toes sewn for a couple weeks.
Ok, what do you do when you just feel slow and sluggish?
