MY WIFE IS HOME! Yippee! Flew in late last night and taking the day off today to "recover". Now, if her LUGGAGE comes . .

Busy time here, but will harrass you all on some of the fora before I run again.

Shredding cheques! Now, have you ever thought about shredding the bills? Then you wouldn't need worry about the cheques...Hmmmmm

Hi everyone. Just home from the engineers office, going over some plans. All is just right, so we are a go on two buildings. Two more to go. I am turning down any extra work now.

Sheila, things sure are changing weatherwise over there. Remember when we were still wearing jumpers, especially in evening.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Hi Jim, my greenhouse thermometre says 120 F right now and it is just after 7.30 pm and we have this heat for the next two days apparently. I think I will do chores at night and stay in bed during the day... [IMG] The news people said it is hotter here than some places on the continent, here has been around 90F today...way too much for me :( cough, splutter, wheeze [IMG]

In the US, the only time we know ANYTHING about the weather in Great Britain is Wimbledon (seemed like a LOT of rain this year) and at the British Open (saw Scottish open highlights and guys were all wearing sweaters).

Figured it was about time for winter for you all!

    Good afternoon.
WEIRD day so far. Last night the other two kids I've been watching got picked up by their dad so they're gone now, and it was unexpected for another week so we didn't get to have our special "last day" before they went back into his custody.
Now I just got a letter from Dr. Mee, Anna's heart surgeon, with not good news and sounds like he might want to go ahead with the heart surgery, which is a total shock considering what the cardiologist said at the last visit. I'm debating what to tell Anna. Based on the info I had before I promised her no more doctors. They have all of the info they need so when I go in to talk to him I shouldn't have to take her, and something's just gotta work out where this won't be neccessary. It's like being tossed back into the middle of a nightmare, but we got through it before and it'll happen again.
In the meantime, I think tea is in order. Got any that magically makes a bad day dissippate? Dissipate? Cool word. Oh no, I feel a poem coming on! Must...go...write... :D

    Evening all,
I am having a wonderful week [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] There is a Gospel tent in the village about 1/2 mile down the road............and I`ve just got back, well about an hour ago, still bursting with the wonderful message tonight. "Jesus is Lord ".
It is boiling hot here today, and work was hectic today! why does hot weather make people buy shoes   If I were not employed, I certainly wouldn`t be walking around town today:rolleyes: I`d be home in the country walking in the shade of the trees, enjoying some of the wonders of Gods creation...... and in the evening enjoying the Word preached at the tent. Very few attend, and this evangelist , David Morgan from Llanelli camps here with his wife, for a week or so at a time visiting homes in the locality, giving out tracts, and encouraging souls to attend. This year he says he has given out 800 tracts in the neighbouring villages.
Going over to Bible reading thread to do my daily reading - may pop back later.
    Kind regards to all,
    Gwyneth

Dissipatus (pluperfect of dissipare) from the roots
    "dis" apart, away from
    "sipare" scatter, throw

I like it too. Throw away kinda day. Hey, that's a line for your poem . . . [IMG]

Jim, you said it hadn't been long since you'd worn jumpers in the evening. Is that what you call sweaters or jackets? Jumpers, to me, is a dress without sleeves and generally a V neck. Sort of like a v neck sweater but long....

I'm ready for some jumper weather! Summer... BE GONE!

    Hi all! [IMG]

It sounds like everyone is having a good day!

Dr. Bob has his bride back home.

Jim has a 'go' on two of his houses.

Sheila is napping all day. :D

Gina is inspired to write poems.

Gwyneth is enjoying the tent revival.

I don't want to spoil all the good reports so I won't tell you that Sue is having a bad bout with her bronchitis.

I will TRY to drop in before I turn in for the night.

Ah yes, Dr. Bob, the 90+ temps go
way up into Wyoming today. I
guess the 100s are all over the Colorado
valley and all around western Kansas.
My computer link still says 102F at 6:40PM local.

Wow, sister Followinghim, sounds like a warm spell
in England. Our cooling bill in central Oklahoma
runs over £120 for June, July, and August
and over £80 for May and September.

    JOKE ALERT [IMG]
    Downtown there is an elevator.
The sign on the elevator says:
    elevator to hell
Some one added to the sign this message
    with their dark writer:
    20 Degrees cooler inside

Sue, I'm so sorry about your bronchitis! Jim has COPD and asthma so I am aware of how sick you must feel. I'll be keeping you in prayer! You're so dear to us all and have made us all feel so welcome at the Common Ground Coffee House!

Hope everyone is having a great evening! CJ is off to VBS. Betty is cooking up a storm! Sheila and Gwenyth are almost ready for bed! Dr. Bob is enjoying his wife being home!

[IMG] ED [IMG] I would, but it gets the fax machine so messy.

Diane: Thank you so much! Grandson has asthma and he is having problems today too. We have been inside all day with A/C on, but there must have been something 'in the air' yesterday when we were outside. :( We are both keeping our inhalors close at hand.

Yes, this is Brent. It's not bad right now Diane, but it CAN get bad. He does just like my son used to do. One minute he is fine...the next minute he can't breathe. We almost lost Pastor Bob from Asthma attacks when he was under two-years-old.

Oh my goodness! Thankfully, none of my kids had asthma as kids. Jim developed his asthma at 34 after being in the army and stationed in a quonset hut that was coated on the inside with asbestos.

I sure hope you guys feel better by tomorrow!
