Well, y'all. I didn't know if I was ever going to be able to get back in here. It seems like this place doesn't like to recognize my password any more.

It's been hot here in TN...made it to 98 here yesterday and 94 here now. We might be getting a shower or two in the near future.

There are many things going on here right now. We're trying to decide on how to fix the kitchen faucet..either replace the one that's in there now, or find the parts that the man who built the house didn't install. He had sort of rigged it to stay, but not too long. Viv's leaning towards replacing it all together. I think I agree with her, except that we don't know if we're going to be here in this house after March. We really need to get a place closer to her job.

My little sister, Becky, the one who used to live in Waycross, then Augusta, GA and was married to the IFB preacher, is moving to Pekin and has a job at Caterpillar in Peoria. Glad to know she's going to be able to provide for those girls. It's a shame that their father won't, at least not like he should.

Hope all is going well with everyone else. I'll try to get back more often if this place will ever recognize my password!

Hi Tony. Sorry you are having such a tough time of it getting in here.

Install a new fawcett. They can be had rather cheaply these days, and finding the right parts can be a great hassle. I have to change all my fawcetts periodically because of the very hard water.

Cheers,

Jim

By the way, tell Ron to stop wearing that turbin when he goes on flights. It draws suspicious looks.............

These are the same fears I have about just crossing the border should the USA go ahead with their plans to tighten up the most friendly border in the world.

Cheers,

Jim

Puff, puff! Three hours at the high school just to buy a locker and get an ID photo made. Can you believe it? That is all orientation was. They didn't: give out class schedules, introduce teachers or have supply lists ready. We have a tax free weekend coming up Aug 4-6 but the high school kids won't have supply lists until the first day of school on the 10th. Can you sense I'm not happy? The best part is yet to come. Cassie's group was shown where their homeroom was. Though she wasn't introduced(or expecting us from the look of things) she was in the room. With a candle burning that immediately gave Cassie a migraine. Evidently this school has never had a student with migraines either. Really! I'm getting the feeling they won't like me much here either.

Is it too early for me to start complaining or should they be given the chance to get used to what's coming? Grrr!

Warm southern greetings, everyone!

:wavey:

It's been a long time, eh?

I sure have missed ya'll! I have been busy on my local newspaper board that I haven't had time to get over to BB.

Everytime that I think I will get a chance to post (I look in everyday), I get in a middle of a discussion over there and I can't post over here. Finally, things are quiet (but not for long) over there and I got a chance to come check in.

How have things been? Anything exciting happened?

I'm gonna have to go to GrannyGumbo, huh? I love this new style ..it's so neat! (shows ya how long I've been gone!)

Well, I'm gonna go do a lil' reading and I'll check in later.

LeBuick, if you look carefully at the centre of the photo, you will see my granddaughter standing there. No discount for man's cluttering...we get to enjoy God's creation everyday...

Cheers,

Jim

I see her but where is she standing?

I've only lived in the city and always wanted seclusion. I love your view!

This morning, I fixed some belgium waffles to pop in the toaster. On the counter you'll find some whipped cream, melted butter, and strawberry preserves.

Coffee's perkin'. Tea's in the other pot.

I've got to do some wed work this a.m. and then we'll be gone until sometime Monday. I'll try to check in again before we leave.

Good morning all,

It's 77º with a heat index of 83º and humidity at 94% and its not even 6:00 a.m. yet!!! Expecting more thunderstorms today also. Looks like I'll be staying inside with the air on again today...

We did our running yesterday and got all the errands done. Today will be laundry day (things got a little behind this week) and I think I'll mix up a batch of 'Mock' Mushrooms for supper.

Time for a Belgian waffle and some coffee,

Good Morning Everyone!

MmmmMmmm! Bitsy what are we going do when you go back to school?

I'm being a MEAN MAMA this morning!!! (this of course means I'm making my kids do their chores before we start on the day's activities. :D )

Cassie is headed off to her Nana's for a birthday shopping spree and spend the night. While she is there she'll visit the current fella she has following her around. Thank the Lord they are in different schools! Nah, he's a good kid and very accepting of being properly chaperoned while visiting with my daughter. So she'll have a fun couple of days.

Chris has a friend coming over sometime today. Poor Jenna may be stuck by herself. Her best friend left on vacation for TEN WHOLE DAYS! That's okay, cause we are left with their brand new batch of kittens to play with. :)

As for me, I have to get the house ready for the bug man. I need him to spray my carpets. Kitty cat keeps getting fleas and since she doesn't go outside that means the dogs must have brought them inside. Just a hazzard of having so many critters around.

After the house runthrough I have to take T's truck out to the mechanic so they can "pump it up". LOL! I kid you not, that is what the mechanics wife told me. They're doing a pressure test to try and figure out why the engine is missing and it's losing so much coolant. I know it the head gasket as I've been through this before with a different vehicle.

Well, I'd better get started!

Morning friends,
This is the latest I've gotten in here for awhile.
Thanks for the waffles Bitsy, but I'll pass if you don't mind. I don't have much of an appetite this morning(even for virtual food).
If I don't talk to you again before you leave, have a safe trip and a wonderful time. Will we recognize you when you come back, all tan and glowing? I know you're from the South, and it is summer, but you're going North and up here, we do wear shoes. The big question is: would we recognize you with shoes on?
I've got to run and get ready for a doctor's appt. Will try and stop back in later.

Rob

Thankful

Good afternoon, everyone!

MK, you are not too encouraging about beginning high school. My grandson will be in the 9th grade this year, new school and all and I haven't had this experience in so many years I can't count them. Everything seems to start August 1 and school doesn't start until August 21.

I have to go register both children even though they are preregistered. Things went very smoothly for us last spring when they changed schools so maybe it will not be so bad. I will be glad to get back into a routine. Did I really say that?

Ed will get the opportunity to enjoy some of these activities as he is retiring August 3. I am so excited!!!

Well, we are off to Michael's this afternoon. (Craft Store)

Whoo whooo! Congratulations on Ed's retirement. That means more time for him to spend on the B...uh, I mean on the kid's activities so you can rest a bit. :D

Sue, what are Mock Mushrooms?

My house is nearly clean. Only the kitchen is left and the laundry. Lost one kid, gained another and still have to take the truck in.

See ya later!

Thankful

Well, we are back from Michael's. Had to leave before we ran out of money. I should have my head examined for taking a 9 year girl who loves horses, dogs, and crafts. Any way we had lots of fun. It is amazing to see things through the eyes of a child, isn't it?
