    Good morning all,

It is cool, wet, and very foggy here this morning. It rained most of the night and is scheduled to rain for the next few days. The humidity is terrible!

Today is laundry and 'pick up the house' day and, of course, a school day for us. Brent usually runs my ebay sales to the post office on his morning break (well, he doesn't run, he uses his bicycle). It gives him a break and some fresh air and saves me gasoline. I have seven packages to be posted today and may have to use the car, depending on the rain.

Coffee is perking, tea is steeping, and there is a breakfast casserole on the counter. Help yourself!

    HAGD!

Ummm, can't say good morning this morning so I'll just say howdy.

I've got 3 sick kids, two with migraines, one with the earache and a meeting with Chris' school in just 30 minutes. This will make for Chris' 6th day out of school and school has only been in session 13 days. :( Evidently the new meds aren't working to supress the migraines. I'm not sure though cause the trigger for this one was the virus he caught last week. Cass is complaining that she can't think or sleep if she takes her preventative. I found her skipping doses again. Grrr! She says she'd rather suffer than not be able to think clearly. We're gonna have to have a long talk with the doc at her next appointment, if we make it that far....

Gotta go print some some letters. I'll be back after the meeting....

Shhh, don't talk to loud in here or you'll

    WAKE SOMEONE UP!

Ok, now that everyone is awake....

What have ya'll been doing? I'm going to have permanent insomnia if I don't quit drinking all this coffee by myself and it would be a shame to waste it. So who's gonna help me out? There's a pot tea that needs drinking as well......

Hehe, the meeting went better than expected, though I think the principal was a little shocked to find out she was meeting with ME just about 5 minutes before we were to meet. (I didn't ask to meet with her, only the teachers) She recovered quickly though, and we had a productive meeting (for a change). Left the meeting with a workable plan. And I didn't even have to hurt anyone! ;) Well, it might hurt Chris' socialization plans but that's a small price to pay......:D

Now ya'll have gone and made me sleepy. I need a nap! Ya'll ougta be ashamed......

Pot tea? Dude I might have to check that out, sounds :flower:groovy:flower:.

Although coffee does sound nice. I would love to have a Starbucks out our way for my occasional caramel macchiato, but I suppose it's probably better to settle for it once or twice a year instead. Could get addicting if it's that close, and the stuff ain't cheap!

    Good morning all,

I got absolutely nothing done yesterday, so today I will play 'catch-up'. It is in the 60's this morning and raining. The expected high is 73º.

I go back to the cardiologist (70 miles round trip) tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it. I'm praying he will keep me on this medicine regime and I won't have to undergo any 'procedures'.

Time for breakfast and then school.

Okay folks, Monday is over it okay to come out now! :D

    Good Morning!

Another sunny day here in AL. Supposed to, well, I actually don't remember what it is supposed to do. I thought it was going to rain today, but it doesn't much look like it. I hope it does though or I'm going to have to water the plants and I hate watering stuff. I always forget to turn the hose off and then I have to yell at myself because of the water bill.

I suppose I'll be sitting back in the docs office again. Cass has already gotten up crying with her migraine and Chris hasn't gotten up so that's a bad sign. Poor Jenna, just doesn't feel well and she hasn't gotten up yet either. Usually btw, I don't have to wake my kids in the mornings; they wake themselves. I think Jenna has Chris' virus from last week. The doc warned me the girls would get it......

After I attend to that I have to go deliver a blouse I made and set some rhinestones on some costumes my friend with the bridal shop is making. Gonna be busy and what I'd really like to do is sleep all day!

Yawn, I've already finished off the first pot of coffee so I've put on a second. Bisquits, gravy and butter and jelly are laid out for ya'lls breakfast, enjoy!

When I was younger, I felt that I always had to be doing something, and would manufacture something to keep me busy. Is it some sort of guilt trip that we feel we always have to be doing?

Now, last night I got about fifteen books of my shelves. I fully intended to look something up. To-day, I put fifteen books back up on shelves. I forgot what I was going to look up.

We had a little rain in the night and it is overcast to-day, but it may not rain. It was so dry this summer even the apples on my trees refused to grow.

I picked 20 plums off my new plum tree, and they are quite delicious. Next year maybe the other new fruit trees will produce more than leaves and branches.

Make your day, and don't let your day make you. Enjoy the moment. At my age it passes quickly enough.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Just a little celebration, cause I'm not going to go sit at the docs office. :)

After Cass woke the second time she was a bit better, so we're going to give her another day. Chris also thinks things are better. I told them both though that it was school tommorrow or a shot! They are back to sleeping now for a while and then we'll start make up work.

Jenna is getting over the virus she has and is much less whiney today! That is always a welcome occurance. :D

Gotta go deliver that stuff. See ya!

    Good morning all,

I slept in later than I had planned so I don't have time to visit this morning.

I'm off for my appointment with the cardiologist.

Lord, Please wrap your arms around Sue. She is your devoted, obedient child and right now she is anxious about her health.

You are the Great Physician for whom nothing is impossible. Please be with Sue, calm her fears, and give her your peace.

Please touch Sue and heal her from the top of her head, to the soles of her feet. Her love, and praise for you knows no bounds.

I ask this in Jesus' name, that he may be eternally praised. Amen.

    Hello? Is anybody here??

This is my first time on today, which is unusual. I will drop in a 'listen' even if I don't join in the conversation.

    MK, how are the young'uns?

Sue, what did the Doc have to say?

FoG, how is our precious Sean? ((Sean)))

Tony? Jim? How are things going in your neck of the woods?

I had a visit with the Oncologist yesterday. My tumor marker has gone from 37 in April, to 58 in June to 69 in August.
There might be some new activity in the lumbar region that was found and Radiated last year. There are also lots of little spots in my spine showing up on the scans. Dr said those may be caused by the Femara taking away the bone density.
Switched to Faslodex for my hormone blocker. One of the side effects listed is backache. I can hardly move because of the pain in my back, right about the middler of my shoulder blades. Sure hope it doesn't last long.

Oh, Gayla! I am so sorry to hear that! I will certainly step up my prayers!

Thank you for the prayers Rob! They helped!

My visit to the cardiologist went wonderful (and here I dreaded it so much)! I was told to stay on the heart meds, live a normal life, and come back in a year! Certainly not what I expected...

Now, if the Dramamine would just get rid of this dizzyness! No smart remarks now. I know y'all think I'm ALWAYS dizzy - but not like THIS!

It's like an inner-ear infection, except it's not really an infection, so they can't give me anything for it. The little bubble gets off-center for some reason and everytime I move my head (even turning over in bed) I feel like I'm spinning off the face of the earth!

Since it's not an infection, it has to 'right' itself and the Dramamine is supposed to keep me from getting sick while it does that (and it does).

    Time to fix supper,

I only have a minute to paste in,,,I guess that makes me a minuteman!!!!

We had a young man of 48 literally drop dead off the main street to-day. He had a massive coronary. The owner of the local hardware engaged him weekly to help unload the transport. She is from India and her husband lives in Toronto. She wanted to visit this chaps' residence and she asked me to escort her....her religion forbids her to visit another man's home unescorted.

I listened to the people talking. They mentioned..He's in a better place now.... The thought came to my mind...does one get into a theatre without a ticket? Why would one expect to enter heaven without a ticket? Why, oh, why, isn't the message reaching the people on the streets? God help us!

Cheers everyone....keep praising our Lord even for small mercies...they are huge parcels compared to the world,

    Jim

    I'm absolutely exhausted!

Jenna's better and went to school. The other two were NOT better UNTIL I took them both to get shots and now Chris has 80% of his makeup work done and Cassie is cleaning the kitchen (wow!).

It was a little sad this evening to go to church with 3 kids and not one of them was my own. I didn't want mine out until I was sure those migraines weren't coming back.

Jim, I've wondered the exact same thing about folks who don't/can't/won't understand the simple truth of "Jesus is the way".

Sue, those are the kind of doctor's reports we like to hear.

Gayla, I'm keeping you in my prayers.

Night, night folks, I'll try to see you tomorrow.

(((((Sean))))) I'm with Gayla, where's my nephew?

    Good morning all,

I got dizzy and just about fell out of bed so thought it was time to get up! I am out of Dramamine, so that will require a trip to the store after Brent gets up.

We are certainly having fall weather here. A sweater would feel nice this morning. High this afternoon in the low 70's.

Coffee is perking, tea is steeping and the ingredients are in the fridge for a boiled omelet. Help yourself and clean up the crumbs.

    Good Morning Everybody!,

Nice to see everybody up and about (sorry Sue, no pun intended).

From the sounds of it nobody is going to feel like cooking this morning. Okay if I try?

The coffee is on, the water is ready for tea, and I've made bacon and eggs, sausage gravy & bisquits, and home fries. I will gladly serve you breakfast in the recliner Sue. Everything else is hot, and ready to go.

Sean came in with me this morning, and he's been quietly (for him at least) watching me make breakfast.
He's looking around for his "aunts" right now, with a big grin on his face. He only be able to stay a little while though, he has physical therapy today.

What is everybody doing for Labor Day?

I propose(ooops, everytime I use that word changes happen) that we have an end-of-summer barbeque, hymn sing, gab fest, whatever. It'll be a potluck (We're Baptists remember?), so everybody bring whatever you like.

We'll have singin' on the grounds, and maybe we can convince Jim to make a quick trip south to give the message.

We'll start on Sunday, and end whenever we want to on Monday. No RSVPs. Just show up chow down, feast on the word, and the fellowship.

I'll bring Bucket Salad for Labor Day!

I made it for our family Memorial Day picnic and it was a big hit. Kind of tastes like Tacos.

Wow! Sue...that is a literal bucket brigade.

It was suggested I come South with a message for this proposed outing. Ye know not what ye ask.........

After my first stroke, I lost my speech, among other things, for three years....then, three years to the day I had to preach at my former pastorate. We held services normally at 11:AM. Now, I am a clock watcher and never preached beyond the noon hour. I had my sermon prepared and typed out word for word....in case I got stuck along the way. Wife said I never once looked at my notes....and I watched the clock faithfully. What I had forgotten is that we started the service at 10:AM that Sunday.....so, at 10 to 12 I was winding down and announcing the closing hymn......Remember the 10 O'clock start? Well, I literally preached for over an hour............warning! warning! The sermon title was...There are Potholes in the Road............

Oh, good morning one and all. The sun is shining here to-day, but there are potholes in the road,,,,the next five days predict rain, rain and more rain.

Did you know that to-day is supposed to be the most miserable day of the year? It ends the summer holidays and the next event is winter.

Compliments to our local Fire Department. They attended to the chap I mentioned yesterday. He was dead the moment he collapsed, but they did not give up on him. They kept his pulse alive to within a mile of the hospital. They worked tirelessly on him. Later I realized we fail to give full credit to the work our fire departments do.

Blessings on all, and enjoy life.

    Cheers,

    Jim

And, who are we to quench the Spirit, Jim?

If you're led to preach for an hour, so be it!

It's good to have an appetite for the Word first, then the food, and fellowship to follow. Feed us Jim, we're hungry.
