Betty, that does seem like quite a bit of stuff to all be on one circuit, but, I have the lights of more than one room on a single circuit too. The plugs are on a different circuit, for the most part a one room to a circuit.
However, when a breaker won't reset either the breaker is blown or you have a short somewhere. Have you replaced a light fixture lately? Is there another heavy item drawing power from the same circuit as the freezer (usually a light fixture doesn't draw all that much, this would be a computer or the fridge or something like that) ? Check all your power cords too and any exposed wiring you might have.
Two scary/funny stories from this house:
When we were redoing the bathroom this summer we got down to changing out the lightfixture. Got the new one up and it wasn't quite tight enough to wall. It was mounted on a screw bolt which screw into the bracket and then the cover know screw onto the bolt. So T turns the bolt further into the bracket so the fixture could sit tight to the wall. We have more than enough loose light fixtures in this crazy house.
I asked him when he was turning the bolt, if there were any wires in the way and he said no. Uh huh, famous last words. Couple of days later, with no warning, the breaker flips. We knew the problem had to come from the new light fixture and even though it tested out okay we replaced it. Had to pull all the wires out of the box to put in the new fixture and then we found the problem. When T tightened the bolt he had caught a wire behind it. It took several days for the bolt to penetrate the plastic sheathing on the wire and short out the circuit. The cut spot wasn't apparent until we pulled all the wires out and examined them closely.
The other time we had this problem was the fault of the crazy dog in my avatar. When we bought the house someone had put up a pole light at the end of the upper deck. A thunderstorm came through and blew something into the light and destroyed it. We decided it didn't need to be there anyway, took it down, weatherproofed the wiring that was left with plans to redo the deck lighting eventually. Mishka found it and she discovered that if she pulled on the cap she could pull more wire out of the conduit(something we didn't think could happen.
Got home that evening and couldn't figure out why none of the outside lighting would work. Outside plugs were dead too. Crazy dog had not only pulled out the wiring, but she had chewed into it too.
She's lucky it was a grounded circuit.
I gotta go....
