    Good morning all,

Bro. Barnabas: That was indeed not a nice thing to have happen. Unfortunately, in our town, we have only self-serve, so I am the one pumping the gas!

Surfer Joe: I see you made it back to eat your Poutine. Good job. I thought it might go to waste. That is somewhat like the Horseshoe's we eat at our favorite restaurant.

Rob: Hope your allergies are better today. Mine haven't hit yet and I'm hoping they don't...

Jim: What a handsome dude you were/are...

Islandgirl: You are always on the run. As long as you're out, grab some Krispy Kreme donuts and bring them in for breakfast! Glad you're feeling better.

It is 74º already and we're expecting thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. I always pray the Lord holds the rain back until after my 'tour of duty' is finished on the corner in the afternoon. So far, He has!

    Have a good day all!

    ========================

Brother Barnabas, You see, it took two ministers to tie me down. The chaps on either side are personal friends and vicars of St. Stephen's Anglican and St. Bride's Anglican Churches respectively, my dearest at table and your's truly standing behind her,,,,,,,as always.

    All Londoners we were.

Thank you, Sue and others, you are far too kind.

It rained all night, and Lord knows, we sure needed that. To-day is sunny bright and lovely. We decided to sell off some collections this coming week-end whilst the village house is empty and other sales are happening in village. What a job sorting things out for that. Busy week.

    Cheers to all,

    Jim

    Good Morning Everybody,

We have Sue's weather forecast here in MI too. Hot with severe storms.

My allergies do seem to be a bit better today. I'm praying that the weather change doesn't trigger a migraine.

In the recipe thread Tater Tot found three of the recipes I'd posted there online, and wondered if my recipes were indeed posted on this site she'd found. I'd received the recipes from a friend of mine who didn't say where he got them from. Please believe me Tater my humble attempts at cooking aren't good enough to go into a cookbook. Now if we were talking about recipes from Sue, or Ann, or Gayla, or my Cuz that would be a different matter. I'd buy that cookbook in a second.

I brought in Smokehouse Burgers, Caesar Burgers, and Southwest-Stuffed Burgers, BBQ Scalloped Potatoes, and Lemonade Stand Pie for dessert. Enjoy.

Time to go enjoy the sunshine before the weather changes.

I dont care where they come from, lol. All recipes have to come from somewhere. I was just curious if you had gotten them from there or if they had gotten it from you. :saint:

I get a lot of my recipes from allrecipes - they're great! Just look for 4.5 and 5 star and read the comments - and you're good to go.

Hey all! Today should be gorgeous!! it's 78 degrees right now heading to a high of 86 and it's beautiful! I'm going to enjoy this because it's supposed to get chilly in the next few days and I'm not sure when it will warm up again. This has been the weirdest spring so far - very chilly and a few warm days. No wonder Whirl (the horse I train) is a lunatic. Oh - by the way, if you want to see just how big he is, here's a pic from the other day - to give you perspective, I'm 5'3" - http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e110/annsni/Img_2077.jpg

So, today is just doing some chores, homeschooling and laundry. DH will be grilling steak for dinner since it's so nice out today! :D

    Good afternoon all,
Sue: Sorry I didn't get any Krispy Kremes the only ones I can get aren't fresh so I don't buy them. I don't have a shop around without driving an hour!
I am home for the rest of the day I don't think I have to go anywhere else. It is 81 here and the high I think is supposed to be about 86. Lunch sounds great except I am still eating really soft foods. I had better go see what I can find in my kitchen.

I've had a couple people tell me about allrecipes.com, and I've been slowly looking at their recipes. They are Fantastic.

Just out of curiosity Ann, how many hands high is Whirl? I think they measure a horse's size in hands don't they?

Yep - a horse is measured in "hands" which is about 4". Whirl is 17.1 hands so he's 5'9" at the withers - which is the large bone at the base of the mane between the neck and back - just in front of where the saddle sits.

    Grrrrrrrr!!!

I was at Wal-Mart buying paint for the living room when the storm hit. It looked like a Monsoon and the noise was terrific inside the store.

I got home and found a 30 foot long tree limb on the ground from almost at my front door all the way out into the street. It took out 3 sections of our vinyl picket fence!

It was just a month or so ago that another limb from that same tree blew down and took 2 sections of the fence out!

Our homeowner's insurance is $500.00 deductible (you can't get it any lower in IL), so I doubt they will pay for this one either. I wish I could afford to have that tree cut down because something gets torn up every time we have a storm!

I am NOT a happy camper and the storm is not over yet. The warning is out until 9:00 tonight...

Aww - Sue! I'm sorry! But did your porch hold up???? A huge storm like that would be a good test of the workmanship that went into that porch!

    Good evening folks,
Sue, sorry to hear about the tree limb. I'm also eager to hear the good news that the roof is now keeping the water out.

DH has decided to go through with the carpal Tunnel surgery. It will be next Thursday.

I had a bone scan yesterday, and will see the doc tomorrow to get the good results!!

Gayla - I pray that the bone scan is indeed good - please keep us posted!

Did you get my PM about my CT surgery? I hope that gave you some good information.

    Ann,
    Yes, I got the PM.
When the nurse from the Dr's office called, Ifound out that they have a Surgical center at their office, so we won't even have to go to the Hospital. She also said he could be released to go home as soon as one hour after the procedure.

1 hour? Are they doing arthroscopic or open? Mine was the open procedure. The procedure itself takes about 45 minutes and I can't see how anyone can go home after only an hour of recovery time!! Hmmm - It will be interesting to see what happens!! I'm glad he doesn't have to have it at the hospital - much less chance of infection that way, ya know. :D I hope he does well - it's a great surgery if there's not too much damage yet.

    Good Morning Everyone!

My silly dogs woke us up when the rain started and then we remembered that T has to be at work early, so here I am.

The coffee is on, water is hot, but breakfast.....well there a variety of cereals in the cabinet and plenty of milk! Maybe Rob will supplement that when he gets in. I've been far to busy this week to cook!

I'll probably stay to busy to post for the rest of this week. We are trying to get all of Chris' work made up, there is a field trip for him and a field day for Jen and I'm trying to get clothes organized for our trip to Washington DC in a couple of weeks. I'll be thinking of everyone, though and pop in to read every now and again.

Ya'll have a good day and week if'n I don't get back in.

Oh yes, I killed a huge spider who was making it's residence up near the ceiling by the door when I came in this morning. Might be time to call the exterminator..............

    Good morning all,

It is 52º with an expected high of 71º.

THE PORCH ROOF DID NOT LEAK! PTL!

A tree service will be here this morning to tell me how much they will charge to get the limb off of the fence, cut it up, and haul it away. The insurance will pay for that as well as the replacement of the 24 feet of fence the limb took out.

However, they said they would not pay another claim resulting from that tree because we know it is a danger and it is our responsibility to have it cut down. I was not too happy since I have been paying them monthly for over 30 years and this is only the third claim I have made in all that time!!!

Anyway, I will be busy the rest of this week trying to clean up from the sun porch (that still isn't finished) and getting things ready for Bob and Steph to spend next week here, putting up siding.

I will be popping in each morning, but that will probably be the extent of my posting until they go back to Arkansas.

    Have a good day all!
