Goodness gracious! Are passing leaky porch roofs around? :(

Too bad for the spider that you weren't here earlier, Surfer Joe, you could have taken care of him for me. If I see one, it's the shoe for sure!

I'm back cause I'm waiting on Chris to get it together enough to go to school for a while. Sigh. The poor kid took another fall yesterday and this time busted up one of his knees. I'm not sure how concerned I should be. It is a bit swollen and he is limping and says it hurts, but he can walk on it. He's going to have a nasty bruise, too. Strange thing is, he fell on ashphalt and skinned the knee up, but it didn't tear a hole in his jeans. He says he doesn't know how that happened either!

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 54 and cloudy here, headed for a high of 58.

WOW!!! Where is that dancing banana when you need it?

Sue: Great news about the roof. As far as your insurance company goes I'd thank them for all their help after you've supported them as long as you have. I'd say you're definitely not "in good hands."

Gayla: Praying for your marker results, and for DH's surgery.

Cuz: You actually killed a spider? That would have sent my Wife into cardiac arrest. Maybe he was just inspecting your handiwork so he could copy it into his next web, and you go and splatter him all over the wall.

I brought in Sausage Scramble, Oven Breakfast Hash, Skillet Sausage with Potatoes and Rosemary, and South-of-the-Border Quiche Squares. Enjoy.

Not much going on here today. I'm still fighting my allergies, but I think they're mounting an offensive.

I feel somewhat neglected. No roof leaks and I actually like the purpose of spiders in this life. When tree fell across the roof of my village house, the insurance did not apply because it was an Act of God, as defined in the Insurance Act....It cost me $800.00 just to have the tree removed....it wasn't even my tree!
    http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-8/1065876/treehouse.jpg

It rained cats and dogs all night long, and I couldn't even rescue the poor animals!

Other than that, everythng seems to be falliing into place. Oh right, I was even invited to pastor a small Baptist Church some 30 miles from me. I declined, but it was nice to have the invite...their pastor is retiring....lol...I have been retired for 15 years! and they invite me,,lol.

Cheers everyone and enjoy your day.

    Jim

    Good morning all,
We didn't get any rain although it did cool off a little bit.
Sue: I am sorry to see your fence torn up but the new windows look good.
I killed a spider by the baby neice's bassinet this morning. It wasn't very big but none the less. Speaking of which I had better go she is staying with auntie for the day and thinks it is time to eat again! Y'all have a blessed day.

Of course I didn't splatter the spider all over the wall, Rob. I knocked it off the wall first and splattered it all over floor!

Jim, I like spiders just fine so long as they are OUTSIDE! Hanging over my head in a doorway is not the proper habitat for a spider.

Sue, your poor fence! I have a chainsaw that would take care of that branch (here the city picks up stuff like that). Too bad I live so far away.

Yes, I know I'm supposed to be working.....

No, no, no - Rob! The worst scream came from me when I was on a medication for a UTI years ago. I woke up having halicinations - seeing a HUGE spider (think 3' across) coming down from the ceiling to land right on me! I screamed so loud and scared my husband silly!! It was the worst thing!! After I got up, I thought I had the baby spiders crawling all over me. Bleck!! Needless to say, I don't take that medication anymore. YUCK! YUCK!! YUCK!!! That was just downright nasty!!

    **SHUDDER**

Well, on that note, Joanna was sent home from preschool today with 2 ladybugs!! LOL - What are they thinking?? Fortunately, we're to release it later tonight at dusk so that they can take care of our garden. Whew!! LOL!!

Not much going on today. I had my staff meeting at church and I'm home for a bit. I'm hoping to squeeze in riding but it's beginning to look like the thunderstorms may come early - not sure I can get riding in before that. After riding, I'll come home and shower then head out for a wake of a friend's mom. We'll see what the weather is going to bring.....

    Good morning all,

The insurance agent never did come out, but he called and told me what they were going to pay and I agreed to it. The limb will be removed today and the tree cut down in about two weeks. The fence will be fixed as soon as Dale gets around to it. Next week is gonna be very busy.

It is a cool 46º this morning with an expected high of 68º. Nice working weather for a change!

    Y'all have a great day!

Is it chilly in Anchorage....my dear mother is flying over there (I shudder at the thought of 24hrs in aeroplane) to totter about Alaska and parts wild of Canada. She is a spry 75 yr old who adores travel, saves her pennies and will have a ball.....

Me, I was off to have a chat about lap banding surgery....I am very fat and it is seriously restricting my desire to fly. It is mild in Brissie even though it is Autumn, the dams are down to about 10%.

Sue I love you clean winders.....I hope you all have a fabulous day.

Hope your mom has a grand time, Briony!! It's great that she like to travel!

Ann--I hallucinated only once, when I was given pain meds after having my wisdom teeth out. I saw racoons in my bedroom! That was scary! LOL

Sue, I'm sorry about your fence. But your yard is so pretty and green! Hope they get it fixed for you soon. Love the new windows, by the way.

I'm off to work in the yard. Se ya'll later.

Morning all!! Today is SO much cooler than yesterday - it's just 70 degrees outside compared to 87 yesterday! I actually am thinking of putting on socks!! LOL!

Well, today will be a quiet day around here apparently. I WAS going out but the phones AND computers are out at church so DH had to go up to see what could be done about some of that. It looks like the DSL line (where all e-mails come in) was cut in Manhattan and the entire system is down around here (not sure how Brother Barnabas gets on but if he's DSL, he's not coming here for a bit).

We're going to have an early dinner tonight because tonight starts the Ancient Paths seminar that we're holding. I'm still not sure about it - this is honestly not my kind of thing but I have to go for all 16 hours of this. :BangHead: I pray that it IS a blessing to Bob and I and our family and I pray that I go in with a right attitude. LOL!

    Have a wonderful day all!!

    Good morning all,
I am enjoying the lovely spring weather today. It is only 70 here at the moment. I am not sure what the high is supposed to be. I haven't checked the weather. Dad is scheduled for another surgery Tuesday. They are going to remove all the infected tissue, a bone spur and do another biopsy to see how much infection is in the toe.
I had better go, the youngest nephew has a play at school tonight and I need to get some housework done so I can go to see it. Y'all have a blessed day!

    Good morning all,

It is a cool 49º, but should be in the 70's by this afternoon.

The tree service was supposed to remove the limb from the fence yesterday morning, but they didn't show up. Maybe today...

Whatever happened to professionals being where they're supposed to be, when they're supposed to be there???

Another busy day today. Almost ready to lay the subfloor on the porch, then put up the trim. I still haven't decided what I'm putting on the floor. I would like to have vinyl, but kitchen carpet is cheaper. Decisions, decisions!

I must run but will try and stop in later today. It looks like everyone else is as busy as I am...

Hey all! Just a post and run - have to get to church to work. Today was supposed to be field day for our homeschool group but with lots of rain and a predicted high of 55, we've cancelled. So that means I can get my word done by 2 and still have time to come home and relax before we have to be BACK at church again for the seminar we're putting on. So far it's been OK but we can definitely see that it's a more charasmatic kind of organization due to some of the things that they've said and done. That's OK if it's a good seminar and those things are not the forefront of the teaching, ya know?

So, have a great day all! I'll be gone all day tomorrow with this thing - turns out we have to be there at 8AM (I don't DO 8AM really well) and will be there until 6PM. Bleck! I hope it's raining tomorrow too. :(

Good morning all! It's been cool here and rained some the past few days. We expect a cool 65 degrees for the high today. BRRRR!

Islandgirl, praying for your dad's surgery. Please keep us up to date on his progress.

Sue, good luck with those decisions!

    Ann, enjoy your seminar.

Our oldest son returns home from a business trip this evening. Long drive. Please pray for his safety ... thanks!

    HAGD! :wavey:

    Good Morning Everyone!

Whew! Yesterday was hectic! 6th grade field trip and with Chris being so sick I had to chaperone. The place we went, McWane Center, was crawling with kids cause it is end of the year field trip time. Chris did pretty well considering all the noise and activity going on. We got home and he went to the church with me for smocking (we ended up not smocking!) and just before we were getting ready to go home, he told me he was cold. I didn't pay much attention because I was little cool myself. Got home and noticed how bright red his cheeks were and decided to take his temp: 101.8! Says his throat hurts and he has a little cough. Guess where we're going this morning? Poor kid can't get well from one problem before another one begins.

My walls were grateful, Rob. :D

You figure it out, let me know. During our recent adventure into new heat pump shopping, I chose my company based on how prompt they were in answering my questions and being where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there. I had to pay them a little more, but they were well worth it.

Before you make any decisions on flooring, Sue, consider how easy it will be to clean each of your flooring choices and what will happen if they get wet (heaven forbid you have another leak out there). I'm not sure what you mean by kitchen carpet (people put carpet in kitchens? ), but I'm thinking if you are going to do craft type things out there that vinyl would be so much easier to deal with. I know how much I hate trying to vacuum around my sewing area and if I'm using glue or paint, I better not spill any on this carpet! I'd love to not have carpet in here.

Gotta go get ready for the doctor's office, see ya later if I can.

Cindi my mother has carpet in her kitchen and all 3 bathrooms. She even has carpet on her patio:BangHead:

Today isn't going to be the relaxing day I had in mind. I have to take Amie and Todd to the dentist for a cleening. At least I will not have to take any of the kids back for 6 months.

After the dentist trip I have to go to the church to get a dress finished for a baby shower this weekend & start all over on another dress that I had almost done. I cut the skirt too short. Now Anna thinks it is her's...so it I will just start over:tonofbricks:

Jeremy will be leaving for MN tomorrow if all goes well. On one had I will be happy cause it will mean more money for us...but...I don't want him to go cause the only times we have not been together was for me to have a baby...he is there for the main event and then comes home to the older kids and when we moved to CT the kids and I were there for a few weeks without him. Anna (5 now...2 at the time) will still tell him she didn't like him being gone! LOL this should be fun :)

hope you all have a good weekend!

    Hello!:wavey:

Dr visit Wednesday went well. The tumor-marker went from 65.2 to 65.0. We seem to have reached that expected plateau.
The bone scan showed no change in the spine. PTL!!!!
They did point out the degenerative something-or-other in my knees. And a spot on a left rib that looked "post traumatic". After thinking for a little while, I do remember sometime in January or early February when my side was hurting quite a bit. Guess I'd cracked a rib somehow. Could it have been caused by carrying a heavy tote bag?

DH is having carpal tunnel surgery next Thursday. The DR said that after 2 weeks he could probably go back to work with light duty restrictiions for 3 to 4 weeks. The work place says you don't come back till there are no restrictions. STD, which is about half the refular pay, will start about 2 weeks after surgery, and last for up to 13 weeks. He should be back at work by the middle of July. Can you say "tighten the purse-strings?"

Strep! I hate strep! Yes, that is what is wrong with Chris. Poor kid makes it back to school for a couple of days and someone gives him strep. :(

Gayla, what does your husband do that they don't want him back on light duty? T's office would think light duty would be just fine (anything to keep him at work! )

I'm off to fill Chris' prescription and take one of our poor guinea pigs to "play" with Jenna's class. See ya!
