    Good morning all,

Tony: Welcome back! You've been missed!

All this week is very busy, but I will at least try and stop in here every morning.

Pastor Bob and his wife will arrive today and be here the rest of the week to put up siding. He will have various friends helping him throughout the week and I will be cooking and doing dishes.

I must run for I am still working on the corner Monday through Wednesday.

    Have a great day all!

    Good Morning, Everyone!

Yay, Sue! The siding is about the last thing to be done isn't it? Then you'll be able to enjoy your summer basking in the glow of a nicely refinished house. :D :applause:

I have two home sick. Haven't these kids ever heard that the last 3 days of school are the worst to miss? All they do is take tests and hang with their friends!

At least Chris is up and talking about going to school. No fever yet this morning. Last night it spiked back up to 102.8; the highest it's been so far. I thought we were headed back to the doc this morning and was beginning to worry that maybe he had pnuemonia. Not something we want to have just two weeks before vacation.

Cass has a migraine. I have a good idea what's causing it. She got into the bananas that I bought for bread to celebrate school ending. Bananas are one of both kid's odd migraine triggers. They can eat them in bread occasionally, but I don't keep them in the house regularly. Hopefully, she'll wake up soon feeling better and I can take both of them to school.

Today I'm going to dig out certain sections of the house and move the guinea pigs into smaller cages so they can come downstairs for a while. Then it'll be time to go to the church for smocking.

I better get moving or I won't get everything done!

    Good afternoon all,
Looks like I am the only one around today. I have been helping mom with my sis' kiddos including the sick one while she had her surgery today. She is doing okay and the one who was sick hasn't had any fever in 24 hours now so he gets to finish his last 3 days of school. I got my veggie garden planted and they got a nice rain on them this morning. Dad's surgery is tommorrow so I won't be checking in we know something. Y'all have a blessed afternoon!

    Evening all,

Cindi: I wish! No rest for me this summer. As soon as the porch and siding get done, I am going to paint every room in the house. I will be busy for a loooooooooooong time yet...

Well, the tree service cut the tree down today and something broke on their truck so they didn't get it cut up and hauled away. I have a front yard full of tree now and they busted out some more fence and smashed my Hostas in the process.

Bob didn't make it up here. They got 2 hours from home and their van broke down so they had to go back home. He can't come next week because he is receiving his Master's Degree. It will be June before he can come if he can come at all now. He can't just leave whenever he wants.

Tomorrow morning, the siding is being delivered. Also the carpet for the sun porch, and the last 2 windows will be installed in the dining room.

I don't know anything about siding and neither does Dale, but I guess we're gonna have to learn because we can't let it lay around outside for 2/3 weeks.

I'm worn out and am heading for bed.

    Pleasant dreams all!

Sue you take care of yourself if you're starting with Bronchitis. I've been battling it off and on all winter along with pneumonia. It's not good!
You don't know how much I wish I could come up and help Bob put up the siding. I don't know a whole lot about it, but, could learn, and would love the Christian fellowship, especially fellowship with a pastor. Mine has been somewhat limited lately as Vivian and I still haven't found the church the Lord wants us in. We're still visiting and taking our time, helping in those we visit to see where God has us fitting in. So far we've got two possibilities, and these pastors have been fair to middlin' in their testimony for Jesus Christ. We've got two more to try just N. of us. If neither one of those work, we've been asked to come back to Hoover's Gap. We know for sure that God WOULD use us there in some capacity. There is also Temple Baptist in Manchester and another small church in Tullahoma that want us to come and visit.

I've actually missed the Ol' Coffee House here. I've brought in a couple of "cubes" of Diet Dr. Pepper for y'all to enjoy! Have a great Christ filled day.

    Blessings!

MK, am praying for you and yours. I hate migraines (I have the relative "Cluster Headaches") and know just how disabling they can be. I've almost had to go to an all out fresh veggie, raw diet with water. It's helped some. As far a the light sensitivity that I have with my headaches, I've started to wear NoIR's glasses. The've really cut down on the pain. Also, you may want to check out the site at http://www.marshallprotocol.com for some help. I know I'm getting ready to go back on their treatments if the Lord opens the doors. :praying:

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 56 here, headed for a high of 82 today.

Welcome back Tony. It's great to see you again. Praying that you and your Wife find a new church home. I've been on that road.

Sue: Idle hands are the Devil's playground, guess you're going to be safe for quite awhile.

Since Tony brought in the diet Dr.Pepper how avbout if I bring in Pancakes, Eggs, Hash Brown Potatoes, Bacon, Sausage, and Biscuits and Sausage Gravy. Enjoy.

I'm watching Sean this morning while his Mother goes in for a Social Security Hearing on her re-application for disability benefits. She suffers from Bi-Polar Disorder.

Not much going on here. We've been getting the RV ready for Memorial Day. We camp at a Christian campground about 10 miles south of us.

Unfortunately the weather forecast for this weekend isn't the greatest. We're forcasted for thunderstorms on thursday, and possibly on Friday as well. Right now Saturday and Sunday look pretty good but.. oh well, live, learn, and have umbrellas.

I'm the chief cook and bottle washer at camp, and no, I don't try and do anything fancy. I did make Beef Burgundy once. That was an adeventure on a campfire, but not again. Chili, brats, a BIG breakfast, burgers, hot dogs, spaghetti, and cold sandwiches is about all the cooking we do.

Time to go check on Sean.

Rob - Camping is a great time to do some cooking ahead of time so that you can have a "fancy" meal without all the work and cooking. I've made up things and just put them in foil pans - then put them on the BBQ to heat up and it works great!

Nothing much going on here today. I'm going to ride later today and until then, I'm doing chores and homeschooling. Oh, what an exciting life! ;)

Thanks Ann. Sure helps to have smart friends.

I can think of a few dishes that would fit into camping easily. Cheese-Topped Grilled Tomatoes, BBQ Scalloped Potatoes, Grilled new Potatoes, Steak Salad, BBQ Grilled Steak Wraps, Foil-Pack Halibut Florentine.

    Guess I better get busy hadn't I?

    Good Morning Everyone!

Rob, you and I must only be second cousins. I HATE CAMPING!!!!! Having an RV does NOT make things better. Did that more than enough when I was a kid.

Hey Tony! Thanks for the link. I'll examine it more carefully later today. :)

Sue, I'm afraid to mention the word paint again in this house for a while. Last year's bathroom painting project that grew into an entire room remodel was enough projects for a while! I can just imagine what would happen if I wanted to paint the living room!

Yay! TWO more days school and then we're done, done, done!!!!!! And this day is half over for Chris and Cass. They are both taking final exams and get out at 11:30 today and tomorrow. Well Cass will get out. Chris will probably have to stay behind and makeup the last of the stuff he is behind on. That's okay, though, cause I was worried about him finishing on time as sick as he's been.

I'm supposed to be cleaning up this bedroom of mine, but I sat down and now I'm having trouble getting up. Instead I'm going to hunt out some patterns for a lady at smocking and get ready to go pick Cass and head over to the church.

Ann, my life and yours are peaceful if not exciting.

LOL Cuz, It took me quite awhile to learn to like camping. We finally graduated from tents to an RV, and I'm liking camping more and more each year.

Still not wild about camping in the rain though.

We do cheat a bit. Our RV has a refrigerator, stove, and a microwave. I've never mastered the art of cooking over a campfire.

    Good afternoon all,
Rob: Camping out in an RV is the only way I will go.
It is 72 here and stormy. It is nice for some rain before the hot summer starts.
Dad's surgery was cancelled. The surgeon didn't tell mom that dad needed a physical done yesterday but his blood sugar was also high. I know it is a little late but I brought in some lasagna and garlic bread for lunch. My sis is here and could rival Garfield for eating the most lasagna so you all better hurry and eat while she is still sluggish from the pain meds! Y'all have a blessed day!

    Good morning all,

The tree is gone, the fence is repaired (except for one-eight foot section), the last two windows are installed, the siding and carpet has been delivered.

We are waiting on a 'step-by-step' book on how to side a house before we start anything (it should come in the mail today). This is going to be a humongous undertaking for just the two of us - especially since Dale is working 10 hours a day and really doesn't feel like working another 2 hours siding a house in the evening.

We have got to try and have all the trim up by Friday, which of course, is an impossibility. The company loaned us a "break" for this week, which the trim is cut with, but they need it back Friday afternoon or it will cost us $30.00 a day...

I'm too tired to cook for a while, so I'll just make the coffee and let someone else bring in breakfast.

    Have a good day all!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Sue, make sure you and Dale both pace yourselves and don't get to tired out. We don't want you two sick. How's the broncitis or was that just a threat?

:applause: Today is the last day of school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :applause:

I have two smiling kids and one that is enjoying the fact that she only has to go in at 9:30. You can practically see the stress falling off of Chris now that this year is over. This past 9 weeks of almost constant illness has been especially bad.

The only problem with today is that I'll end up going to town over and over. I have to take Chris and Jenna now. At 9:30 Cass has to be at school and Chris has to be picked up. At 11:30 Cass gets picked up and then Jenna gets picked up at 3. 4 trips to town. Guess what won't be cleaned today? :D

    Gotta get drivin'!

Busy, busy, busy ... so much to do now that the weather's improved. Remember just a few months ago when there was 6 inches of snow on the ground and we were stuck indoors? We were forced to rest then. Sue, you and Dale take it easy on the siding.

I have another dental appt at 11 today. We still haven't got the one replacement filling feeling right. I dread drilling it out and starting all over again. Also really sore following yesterday's women's 1/2 day health program. Good thing we only need that once a year, ladies!

Gearing up to RV with my mom and family this weekend. Can't wait to get to Dollywood, one of my favorite spots on earth! :)

We have school through June 8th, MK. Brandon is SO ready to be out for the summer!

    HAGD all! :wavey:

Sue: That is quite an undertaking for someone with no experience. Siding must be installed correctly. I presume you are installing aluminum, since you are using a brake. Three suggestions: (1) Make sure you have a level starting point and draw a chalk line for the starter boards all the way. (2) Allow for expansion and contraction. The siding has a lot of movement through the seasons. (3) The siding comes with an oblong slot for nailing...The nail must be in the centre of that slot and don't drive the nails all the way in...the siding should shift along that slot,,that is the expansion joint..If you don't, the siding will warp out of shape.

All the best with it. Go slowly and thoughtfully, and it should turn out ok.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Cindi: I think it was just a threat brought on by the stress of having all this stuff to do at the same time.

Jim: Thanks for the tips. I can use all of them I can get! The siding is vinyl, I assumed the trim was too, but I'm not sure now. It may be aluminum.

I just went and peeked at the siding. You are very correct (as always). It does have an oblong slot for the nails and I would never have thought of placing the nail in the center!

I know one thing - we're not doing anything until that book arrives!!!

    Good morning all,
Dad is going back to the doc today to get a physical and we will go from there. The doc doing wound care told him that the chances of him losing his toe are very great but that is better than losing his leg.
Sue: Take it easy on the siding and don't overdo yourself. I know how you feel about having painting to do-that is my summer project as well. I have one bathroom to paint as well as a bedroom, the living and dining room and I need to finish the other bathroom!
Only one more day of school here!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I had better run, I need to get my car cleaned out. I have a promotion ceremony for my neice this afternoon and I am taking my sis and one of her kids as well so I have to have room for everyone! Y'all have a blessed day!
