    Praying for your hubby, Gayla.

    Good morning all,

We haven't touched the siding yet because the book did not arrive in the mail. Dale did get most of the fence repaired though. Tonight, he will install the last section and it will be finished.

Hopefully, the carpet will get laid on the sun porch tonight also. It is laying in a roll in the living room and, of course, I keep tripping over it or bumping into it!

We have an addition to our family. Her name is 'Miss Kitty' and she is 6 weeks old with VERY sharp claws and she is very inquisitive! We love her already, but I will be glad when she is old enough to have her front claws removed. She will be strictly a house cat.

    Another busy day today.

    HAGD!

I bet Miss Kitty is a doll, Sue. Please post a pic when you're not so busy.

My brother, mother and I have been bottle feeding kitten siblings for a month. They finally started on solid food this week. They're soooo cute! My brother has named them Biscuits and Gravy. They're already house broke, cuddly and would make the best indoor pets. They're going back out to the barn, where we found them abandoned by their mother, unless we find some takers. I just hate to see that, but we've all got too many cats in our homes already.

90 degrees with high humidity in southern Ohio today. Our first smog alert this year. I've been getting my cardio walk in early, before it's so hot that I talk myself out of it. ;)

Wishing you all a fabulous day in the Lord! :godisgood:

    - Pam

Well, Pam, since you insist.

She was bottle fed too. She was a little runt. She's still very small, but on solid food now and she's a 'cuddler'.

Cute kitty Lady Sue! Which reminds me, Lenke adores those Geico commercials with the gecko lizard with an Australian accent. It makes her laugh. :)

If someone asks for "Miss Kitty" at Sue's Castle... who are they asking for Miss Kitty [the kitten] or
    Miss Kitty [aka Miss Sue?]

Asking for the wrong one could be catastrophic.

We're camping Fri-Sat-Sun and have a 60% chance of storms each day. I wonder if RVs float like tents do?

Please do not mutilate the poor kitten. Thank God our veterinarians in Canada will not remove cat's claws because it is cruel.

    Cheers,

    Hey folks!

Been a busy hopping all day today. My children were pleasantly surprised (not) when I woke them up at 6:30 this morning and made them help me clean up the house because the exterminator was coming early and we had a full schedule before he decided to come.

Then it was off to pick up Chris and Jenna's report cards. I'm happy to say that somehow in spite of everything that went on with Chris this year, he will be a 7th grader next year. Jenna made the AB honor roll. :) Poor Cass doesn't get her report card until in the morning.

After that it was time to head to B'ham for lunch with Daddy and then to discover where the neurologist office was located this time (the neuro moved from one hospital to another but not before the first hospital moved his office from one building to another). Found the building was easier to get to than I expected and we were well over an hour early. What to do?

Well 15 minutes away are the lovely Birmingham Botanical Gardens, so we spent the time there. The kid didn't get to see everything they wanted to see, so after the neuro, we called T and had him meet us back there and spent another hour walking through and watching the birds, squirrels and chipmunks.

We had quite a nice time and even with a doc visit it ended up being a nice start to summer vacation. (for everyone still attending, you have this to look forward too and then you can tell us what fun you are having while you are still out unil Labor Day and we start back Aug. 11 (14th?).

I even found time to make homemade spaghetti sauce for supper tonight.

    :)

    I want a kitten! (whispered so T can't hear)

    Hello everybody!

The surgery went well this morning. Ann, his hand is not bandaged near as heavily as yours was. A couple gauze pads, then wrapped with gauze. Just before we left, the nurse put on one more gauze pad and an Ace bandage. Keep it clean, dry and elevated.
We can take that dressing off in three days. Then he can leave it uncovered or bandage it again. They said not to push, pull or lift anything heavier than 5 pounds. Finger wiggling is good, but a little painful right now. Mild pain.

Gayla - That's great!! Make sure he takes any pain medication he needs - but I honestly didn't need anything. It would throb pretty well when I put it down and up until about 8 days afterwards, it hurt to put any pressure on my fingers at all. Definitely keep the fingers moving because that will keep any scar tissue from forming on the tendons from the fingers that go through that area. If he can get any ice on it to get cold through the bandaging, have him do that too.

But I'm glad he did well! I'm sure he's going to be happy he did this!

Gayla: Glad hubby is doing so well.

Rob: I'm only Miss Kitty on ebay.

Jim: I have always had my house cat's front claws removed. It saves on the furniture as well as my legs from them climbing up on me. They are asleep when they are removed. I've always had happy cats.

Barnabas: I like the gekko too! Much better than the cavemen!

    Good morning all,

It has cooled down this morning to 61º and we are expecting rain. I think the high is only going to be in the 70's. We are expecting rain for the next few days. I wish I could send some of it to Australia, Georgia, and Florida!

Brent isn't feeling well this morning. I'm thinking he may have a kidney stone. I'm taking him to school as he has one more 'final' to take. After that, if he's still having problems, I will pick him up and take him to the doctor.

    Gotta run.

    HAGD all!

    Good morning all,

Bri-Glo: I upload my photos to http://www.flickr.com and they fit on here really nice.

Brent is on antibiotics for a UTI, which is very uncommon in males. He has an appointment with the urologist next week for an ultra sound and some other tests to find out what is wrong. Please say a prayer for him. He's not looking forward to another surgery.

I didn't sleep good last night. I have been up since 3:00 this morning. I have no doubt a nap will be in order sometime today...

I believe the carpet will be laid in the sun porch this afternoon. Then I can start cleaning and painting the living room so I can get my drapes back up. I've been living in a glass house! We still don't have the trim up on the sun porch. All in good time... I don't work as fast as I used to.

Bob is coming back up here around June 18th to do the siding. Our job is to get all the trim around the windows, doors, soffets, facia boards, etc. done before he gets here. Now all we have to do is find a break (brake?) to bend the trim. Hopefully, we can borrow one. They cost $30.00 a day to rent (if you can find one to rent) and we will need it for at least two weeks. I am just thankful that Bob and his friends will be doing the actual siding!!!

I may try to lay back down now for a while. Brent will probably sleep at least another two hours - unless "Miss Kitty" wakes him up. She has taken up her night-time residence in bed with him. She's boss already! So much for the cat bed I bought her...

    HAGD all!

Good morning Briony & Lady Sue! Early birds get the worm, huh? Thanks for preparing breakfast. I'll take a couple of whole wheat English Muffins with a slice of low sodium Munster Cheese. I think I'll top it off with a BIG mug of decaf with a small tea spoon of honey and fat free milk. I'll be generous this morning, I'll need the strength for the trip. Lenke and I will be going out to the country to be with the family.... and naturally the three grandkids! So, have a nice day everyone and a blessed Memorial Day weekend! :type:

Good morning! I have been working in the garden all morning. It's gonna be hot today--87 degrees and no rain in sight. The drought is getting scary!

We went to Savannah and Tybee to celebrate our 25th Anniversary and had a really great time! Highlight of the trip was eating at The Lady and Sons (Paula Deen's place) and it was worth the wait! Yummo!!

I love the new addition to your family, Sue. Makes me miss my cat, tho. Kittens are so much fun. I hope Brent is doing better since he is on antibiotics.

Briony, how is the drought there in Oz? Any relief in sight? Squirrels are cute, but they can be destructive. They chewed up a part of my deck, and eat all the birdfood in my bird feeders in a day! (Birds take a couple of weeks for the same amount). I don't like them much!

See ya'll later. I'm off to do some shopping!

    Good, mmmm, Afternoon, Everyone!

Poor Brent. I'm in the boat with him. Don't have a UTI, but I am sick. I had things I wanted to do today but my body had other ideas, so I've been stuck in the bed. Good thing this doesn't happen often, I'm about stir crazy already. Since I've done so well sitting at the computer I'm thinking I could get away with sitting at the sewing machine. I'll probably try that in a little while.

Right now I'm enjoying a nice smoked pork roast supplied by the local Catholic church(one of my neighbor's attends there). It is so big I won't have to cook for the next two days. Good thing too, since I've decided to be sick. :D

    Ya'll enjoy your holiday!

Hey all - I have just a second. I put in 14 hours between yesterday and today on the Memorial Day service! 14 hours for just an hour and a half service. LOL!! It was good, though - should be very moving. :D

I'm off to the pool! It's in the high 80s here and gorgeous! It's summer finally! See ya'll later! :wavey:

    Good afternoon all,
I went with mom to an auction this morning we bought a new ceiling fan for my bedroom after it gets painted. We also bought some lumber for some fix up jobs that need doing. It is 75 here and a low pressure front is parked right over us. It is bringing some rain that will be needed in July but my head is wishing it would go away!
Sue: Brent is in our prayers and Ms. Kitty sure is cute. My sis brought my parents a cat over and she is expecting kittens. I sure will be glad when they get here though-she is being a pest right now. I had better go, no big weekend plans for me. My sisters are both going to see a big country music concert tommorrow. I imagine we will have a cookout Monday but that is about it. Y'all have a blessed weekend.

what a week we have had!

our power box had to be replaced and we were without power for 3 days. we were able to go to my parents house...i'm thinking next time i had rather be hot. we all felt like ashtrays when we got home. my shower never felt so good. jeremy feels bad that he wasn't here to take care of things...lol...poor guy. the power was back on by 2:45pm and we were home by 3:30pm.

yep, i'm getting old...i didn't sleep good while we were gone and my bed was wonderful lastnight!

jeremy should work tonight and sunday...then fly home on monday. i will sure be glad to have him home. he will be happy that he will make it home well in time for my dr visit on the 4th.

i have spent most of the day on the sofa. that seems to be the only thing that keeps me from feeling sick.

*note to self, if i ever think a $1 burger from mcdonalds sounds good...i'm going to fight it. there is a reason they are only $1!*

hope you all have a good weekend!

    Good morning all,

Brent is feeling much better. PTL! He's almost back to normal already! I have been giving him plenty of water and Vitamin C plus his antibiotics.

He helped me cut and lay the carpet on the sun porch yesterday. We finally got it done! Now for the trim and I can put the curtains back up and start moving things back in there. Then I can start my cleaning and painting in the living room. I only have 7 rooms and a hallway to paint... <sigh>

Time for breakfast. It's going to be cereal, toast, and juice this morning so we can get ready for SS and church.

    HAGD!

    Hi folks!:wavey:

We took the bandage off Carl's hand about three hours ago. Ann, his wasn't as crusty as yours was. Washed most of the bloody stuff off and will re-cover it before we go to bed. He'll get the stitches out on June 4. (I think that's longer than stitches are usually left, isn't it?)
The hand has a nice bruise and is swollen a bit, as are the fingers. He's having a little bit of tingling in the fingers, too.
