Bangers and mash you know..neeps are turnips and tommy means supper..short for tommy tucker (supper).

Bangers and mash is often served at breakfast, but when neeps is added, it becomes a suppertime meal.

    Cheers,

    Jim

(By the way, that is not olde English, but rather Cockney Rhyme and typical East London fare.........now spread abroad.

Briony, that is quite correct. Other, small religions, comprises only 1% of the total population. But in Hungary alone, we have close to 20,000 Baptists (before WWII we had 24,000). In the United States around the thirties we had over 48 Hungarian Baptist churches and a Theological Seminary in New Jersey. Today we have only about 15 churches remaining. But worldwide we have Baptist churches in Brazil, Argentina, several in Canada, the Slovak countries, Romania (second to Hungary) and Australia. BTW, I pastored the Hungarian Baptist Church in NYC (Manhattan) for over seven years before handing over the pastorate due to ill health. :type:

    Welcome to Monday!!!

It is 64°F here this am, the sun isn't up yet. By what the weather person says, I have another hour before the sun comes to join me. The radar looks clear for our area and the high should be 74°F.

I do belive I have lost my mind, if anyone finds it....please return it! I woke up at 4:27am and can't get back to :sleeping_2: :BangHead:

I have oj and apple juice on the table with muffins....sorry no coffee yet, don't want the smell to wake up the :sleeping_2: kids, hubby & cats.

It looks like the plans I had for today will be changed. Jeremy has a few things he wants to get done today. He may need my help. Cindi, I guess we will get the lavender dress pleated up sometime latter in the week.

    Have a wonderful day!
    Tanya

    Good morning all,

It is 50º, heading for a high of 80º, with plenty of sunshine.

I have to work on the corner through Wednesday, so I'm hoping the rain holds off.

We have two walls paneled on the porch and the ceiling is done. Hopefully, the other two walls will get done this week, then the subfloor and carpet (or vinyl) - haven't decided yet.

Time for breakfast, then I will take Brent to school and go to work. Today is laundry day also. I'm making a crockpot supper.

    Have a good day all!

Well, Tanya, didn't you hear "The mind is a terrible thing to waste?" Sorry that you've lost it. Now, if you'll describe to us the color and other attributes, we may be able to find it for you.... I know, Lady Sue has a lost and found section of this place. You'll need to check in with her, after she'll gets back from the corner. Bonne Chance (that's French for you)!

Good morning Lady of the House (a.k.a. Sue)!

Yes Barnabas, I do know that "the mind is a terrible thing to waste" but...my brain is the brain of useless knowlegde  so if you find someting pale, from not being in the sun much and full of useless facts...it belongs to me.

Now, I am going to find myself. If I get back before I return let me know. ;o)

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 44 degrees here and sunny, headed for a high of 70.

Tanya- There is no-such-thing as a useless fact. Just remember: "Testing proves testing works!" Thanks for the muffins, they are great!

BTW I found your brain...now will somebody please come and find me?

Not much going on here today. Seems nice to be able to say that once in awhile.

70 seems to be the big number for today - we're due to get there too! Right now it's 54 degrees and the house is chilly because I turned down the heat (I'm deciding whether to turn off the furnace completely soon). It's beautiful and sunny and should be for the next few days as we approach 80 degrees! Yeah!!

I'm taking Joanna to the doctor today - my guess is she has bronchitis. Her cough is horrible and she's running a low-grade fever - 100.1 orally. So, off we go at 11. Bob will stay home with Robby while I'm gone because EVERY time we take a well child to the doctor, we're back a week later with a sick child. :BangHead: It NEVER fails!

Well, have a beautiful day everyone!! This is the day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad!

I'm just now catching up with posts from the weekend ...

Helen, our Columbines are blooming too. Wow, aren't they gorgeous?!

Umm ... I'm passing on the toad thing. I'm thinking twice about the bangers and mash thing too, Gwyneth. ;)

MK, glad to hear Chris did well with his test! Be sure to share the "interesting" results when they arrive.

Ann, isn't Night at the Museum a blast! We watched it three times before returning it to the rental store. So sorry to hear that Joanna is feeling poorly today. :(

Rob, I seem to have no problem with being a "Belly-Baptist"!

Briony, it sounds so funny to hear you say that autumn and winter are approaching. I'm biting at the bits for spring to pass and summer to arrive!

Sue, I must not have read back enough pages to get the word on your work. Have you put your carpentry days behind you?

    - Pam

    Good Morning Everyone!

Rob, we'll be finding you long about lunchtime. :D Tanya doesn't need her mind back just yet. Her children are all cheerful and running about the house making happy children noise, so if you give it back to her right now, she'll just lose it again!

All my children are in school! I'm getting to veg out for a few minutes! Mighty few as I've already done the checkbook and e-mailed teachers, but a house with no ill children is a marvelous thing!

I'm trying to decide if I want to work on the lawn or sew........guess I'll have to think on it while I go get dressed for the day.

    Ya'll have a good day!

    Good morning all,
It is 73 here with an expected high today of 77. It is storming so yard work is out of the question for the day. We bought some patio veggies Saturday that haven't gotten planted yet-I think that might get done. Other than that it is just the usual chores. Oldest niece has a softball game tonight-unless it is still storming. Had better go see what the dog is barking at. Y'all have a great day!

Howdy all.........my throat and tongue are back to being non entities.......alleluia! Is it just me I take no notice of most parts of the old bod until they start complaining...........

Survived Labour Day....exhausted from labouring in the crispy dry yard....I hate green ants! poisonous nasties.

A light shower whilst I was at work tonight, just enough to turn the dust on the car to mud.....it would be great to be able to wash the car it is a pretty blue under the dirt.

    Have a lovely day everyone!:wavey:

    * whew * Took me long enough to find my way back.

Lunch is Slaw Reubens(I made some with corned beef and some with plain beef), White Bean Chili, Grilled Sweet Potato Salad with Basil Vinaigrette, and Grilled Pineapple(served with ice cream) for dessert. Enjoy.

Tanya- Don't worry about your brain, mine hasn't worked right in a few years now. Doesn't bother me a bit...I'm a legend in my own mind.

I wish, Pam! But no such luck. That's why I usually just post in the morning. I'm busy the rest of the day and well into the evening. I have never seen a house that is more 'crooked' and it's a bummer getting things to fit right.

    Good morning all!

Another 80º day, but with all my new windows open and the ceiling fans blowing through the house, it has been quite comfortable in here.

Today is another work day, on the corner and at home too. After I take Brent to school and do the crossing, I come home and put my 'toolbelt' on. I'm pretty well worn out by bedtime.

Time to wake Brent and eat breakfast. I brought in a Crockpot Breakfast. I think Gayla posted it in the recipe section and it is delicious! I cooked it on low all night so it would be ready to eat this morning. Just make toast and set out the jelly and you'll be good to go...

    Have a good day all!

Toolperson Sue, is it? Any fool can cut wood straight. It's the bends and warps that make you a carpenter. Sue, you want to try my village house...There are not two floors that are either level or meet the level of the other floors. One of the joys of drywall; once it is done the joints don't show!

Another lovely day here, and I must work indoors replacing battub faucets in a difficult place. I tried a plumber yesterday and he was so "fat" he couldn't get near the job....and I am being kind!

    Enjoy the day everyone!

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 60 degrees and sunny, headed for a high of 83.

Thanks for the breakfast casserole Sue, that should hit the spot.

It isn't well known Pam, but the CGCH is actually quite unique. For instance, we have....
    A TOOLBELT DIVA [Sue]
TWO MATERIAL GIRLS [Cindi & Tanya]
CGCH is INTERNATIONALLY FAMOUS [We are known in Canada, Australia, and parts of Europe]
A "handy" SAILOR & EQUESTRIAN [Ann]
A former MOD & EDITOR whose husband gets paid to study heavenly bodies(astronomy-that is) [Helen]
A former UNDERTAKER who used to "put smiles on Women's faces" for a living, but now does it with food [Rob]

Good thing we're all so well-behaved. We're just a big bunch of :saint: , and if you don't believe us...just ask us.
