Morning to all! Getting ready to head out to church but thought it rude not to say BOY HOWDY to everyone.

Sue - praying for you to fight off this bronchitis stuff. Ugly way to live sitting in a recliner trying to breath

Gwynneth - hope you had a great birthday and good to see you back.

Sheila - we were going to paint it a light blue, with cream trim. Then the wife got pink into her mind. Pepto Bismol pink, only a little brighter. Ugh.

See my new thread on colours. (British spelling) :D

Good day to all. We have just survived a five hour planned power outage,,,regular maintenance. The whole village was without this morning. The church organ couldn't be used...never realized how badly accapala really sounds... We don't have an organist and so we use computer discs to play the music...seems weird, but it works.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Hey Gwyneth,,Did I get the Welsh right? I was pushing it to get happy birthday...Hapus Pen-Blwydd?

Thank you Barnabas and everyone else who has been praying for me.

I'm still running 101ยบ fever and coughing bad, but the breathing seems to be a little better today.

The meds the doctor gave me yesterday morning have me lightheaded and weak (or the lack of sleep does). I have been getting about 30 minutes of sleep, in the recliner, at a time, since Friday night. The prescription cough syrup is supposed to last for 4 hours!

It is bad timing. I have to start a 'small' part-time job Tuesday and have to pick up materials and sign W-4 etc. tomorrow. Not sure how I'm gonna do that but can't call off on first day!

God knows what He is doing though. It was no coincidence that I got this job when I did and I know He would not have worked things out and then have me not be able to start on time.

    Back to the recliner...

    Dr. Bob, pink??
    ok
with all the vast colors available why would anyone choose pink?
Looks like a room on Trading Spaces last night.
Does your wife watch that show too?

If it makes the WIFE happy... Hubby will be happy! [IMG]

Mine is mauvy pink and NOT Pepto Bismol pink. I had a picture posted but must have been off Truepath. It's VERY pretty. Very frilly too. Makes me feel REALLY feminine [IMG] [IMG]

Does it have the same affect on your husband? That would be my worry.

    Cheers,

    Jim

LOL Jim! It has an effect on my husband alright! I just don't know how to express it on the board. Thing is, if I'm happy about the room, I make HIM happy. He's always let me decorate our bedroom to suit my tastes. [IMG]

When we were first engaged, he was right out of Officer's Candidate School and had an apartment with some other Army officers. He didn't have sheets for his bed so I mailed him some extras. Of course they were big bright flowers and all the guys kidded him. He'd make jokes about it but it didn't make sense to go out and buy single sheets for a 2 month stay at a training location... LOL

Well, the wife and I got in an argument over what color to paint the bedroom walls--we were what you called "conflicting" Baptists--I wanted it sky blue and she wanted it pink---well, we decided on Polka-dot--and we're both happy now!!

I convinced her to believe that when we are asleep--the walls are black!

And speaking of conviction---what did the preacher preach on today?? Do any of us recall??

Blackbird's preacher preached--AM service--"A Country Preacher Along the Way"--Jesus and His confrontation with John The Baptizer! PM Service--"By faith, Moses"--our "journey out" as we tour through the book of Exodus!!

Wednesday's---we are combing through 2 Samuel--right now, Blackbird's preacher is on Chapter 6--where David and his trumpeters march into the cityh of Jerusalem following behind that Ark of God!!

I'm tellin' ya--ya'll need to move your letter over to Blackbird's church---can't guarantee you'll be out by noon---but you will have a good time!

    Blackbird

    Preacher was on vacation. [IMG]
The youth pastor spoke tonight and it was on our relationship with God, how he loves us as his children, and he threw in some Screwtape Letter like illustration/scene of how Satan/demons might work to make us feel insecure and doubtful. He even played a scene on the tv from some movie with Mel Gibson in it. (should I tell the people on the fundamental forum that??)
What about you? Do you remember what you preached about? [IMG]

I remember in detail what our pastor preached on today and it was very good, but even though he is a Baptist Preacher, I can't discuss his sermon on this Board.

However, I will give the Biblical reference:

Luke 10: 29 "Who is my Neighbor?"
