Hey all,
It sure is quiet. I am just dropping off lunch for tommorrow. The brisket is in the fridge, there are some apples in there as well. I also brought in some caramel. It is in the crock pot. It doesn't take but a minute to heat up. There are some hamburger buns on the cabinet. Enjoy for lunch. I am tired! We sold a lot of sandwiches and apples and tea. The cold front didn't get very cold here but we aren't supposed to get all of it until later tonight. I had better go, I need to get in bed.

Good Morning Everybody,

Sorry I wasn't here yesterday, Seems I contracted a nasty case of abdominal & intestinal flu. So I was doing the "Green Apple Quickstep" most of the night and all day.

Cuz: Glad you're feeling better. Don't worry, I'll start c*****g again tomorrow.

Helen: I am so sorry about King. I love dogs[more than some people] and nothing breaks my heart more than a sick or injured dog. Neglected/Abused dogs just make me mad-I want 5 minutes in a room with the monster who did it to them. God bless you for your work in rescuing animals. There is a special place in heaven for people like you. Hopefully in 60 or 70 years I'll see you you there.

Thanks to Palagisislandgirl there is going to be a fantastic lunch in the CGCH. Unfortunately I going to have to opt out today. My stomach is still touchy and I'm going to be living on Coca Cola and French Onion Soup all day.

Gayla:Praying that your chemo is well tolerated, and the markers go down. You're going to beat this because you're in Jesus' arms.

Sue: Thanks for the Chicken Noodle Soup the other night. It's probably why I wasn't sicker than I was. Thanks Sis.

AnnYou've been on my mind for the past few days dear friend. Praying for you daily, as I do all my friends in the CGCH. Praying for the insight and guidance that you bring to the pre-marital counselling. A Secret Service agent once was asked if he studied conterfeit bills so he could spot them easier. He replied "no. I study real, authentic bills to spot the counterfeits." May the people you are counselling study, and learn from the real, authentic marriage that you have so they can recognize what is true and perfect.

I'm going to try some Coke and French Onion Soup to see if it will stop my stomach from rolling.

Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks for doing the cooking today, Island Girl. Maybe Cuz and I will be back to arguing over who's c***ing next week when we both get to feeling better. :D

Poor Cuz, stomach bugs are no fun. French Onion soup on the other hand sounds wonderful. Wish I could get my group to eat it. Tell you grand kids to quit bringing home "guests" from school. (school is where we catch everything! It has been amazing how much less we have caught with homeschooling Chris. Just one kid's less germs have made a big difference)

I'm off to make the payroll at Wally World. If'n we don't get there early it gets to be a zoo!

I'll be around later!

Cuz No need to argue. I'd be more than happy to eat your delectable creations. You may not like cooking, but you are an excellent cook. :wavey:

Mornin' all,

I'm running really late. One of those nights I couldn't manage to drop off to sleep so I got up and fiddled around with stuff until about 2 when I got sleepy. Sigh.... so it's after 8 now and the horses still haven't been fed.

Can horses form a lynch mob?

Rain on and off -- light, not hard to be out in. But I'm already missing blue skies. Tomorrow is supposed to be clear before Alaska sends down another round. It's getting cold early this year, it seems. Our nights are already into the thirties and that does not normally happen for another month or so.

About King. No, he is not overweight, but he IS a big-boned guy and you can still see the outline of his ribs a little at 100 lbs. Ginger seems to help a lot, by the way. We get crystal ginger in bulk from the Safeway stores in California and our kids mail it up to us if we are not there often enough. It is a terrific anti-inflammatory and works on my arthritis as well.

Got about 300 pictures off Barry's camera onto his computer, which he then put on a disc and I now have on my computer, but for some reason I cannot edit them to reduce the size and get them here or on our website. So have a call in to a good friend who teaches computers at the local junior college and waiting for him to rescue us....again....

God bless you all. Have a lovely day.

Oh no Cuz, I'd much rather eat your cooking! :D

Walmart will definately be making payroll and profit this week! I went early to avoid the crowd. I was too late. I honestly don't know where all these people come from! This pm I can imagine a zoo over there.

Helen, I wish I could send you some of our blue skies and you send us some of your rain! We got a very nice cold front too, but only a ten minute shower came with it. It is sooo dry here.

I wish ya'll could see our spoiled cat! Chris is propped up on the bed playing video games and she has crawled up on his chest to lay with her head under his chin. Of course, Chris would never move her and it holding his controller over the top of her. Spoiled, spoiled cat!

Cuz: I just read on a different thread that you are dyslexic. My daughter is too, she had reading comprehension problems all through school and her dyslexia wasn't discovered and identified until her sophomore year in college.

There are far too many similarities between us. Are you sure we're not really Brother and Sister? :wavey:

Waiting to see this headline in the Medical Journals: Found Cure Dyslexia For!

Rob I completely appreciate the prayers. This is a tough couple - we'll see what happens in the next week or two.....

We're also dealing with the sickies here. Robby had a bit of the runs yesterday and since yesterday afternoon, he's vomited 3X. Not a lot but enough. The last time was about an hour ago but I had gotten motrin into him soon enough to take down the fever and get him to feel all chipper and himself. How do you tell a 6 year old that he's sick and to take it easy? I guess you don't. He's having some chicken soup now and will go lay down for more videos in a bit. Well, Rob, I hope you feel better soon!

Speaking of onion soup, how did you know I have that today?? Costco had a pack of frozen onion soup so I'm trying it out - so far it looks good!

So, today will be a day spent just cleaning and maybe doing some baking as I care for my sickie child. :( But then again, I get a day home and I LOVE that! I'd be up at church for about 9 hours today - I hate being out of the house that long!

Hi folks,:wavey:

Feeling a bit better today. Still tired and woozie.

Ann may I ask how old this "Older" couple is? And is his a first marriage for both? Guess that could make a difference.
Either way, when you get married "me" is now "we."

She's 50, he's 55 (if I remember correctly). It's a second marriage for both after pretty long first marriages. Both are clear from their divorce (one was divorced before they were saved and the other was abandoned). She just doesn't understand what we young kids can teach them (we're not teaching them anything - just going through God's Word on what He says about marriage). UGH!

Cuz, I was far older than your daughter when I learned what my problem was even though I never learned my right hand from my left and had a much younger cousin who was dyslexic. Mine is fairly mild though. I learned to read with my classmates (failure was NOT an option, my parents would have put any blame on me personally and never looked for a cause) though my teachers consistantly told me/us that I didn't read well. And I was lucky that I loved to read (reading gave me an out from an otherwise unhappy childhood) I also loved to write so making up stories for my friends gave me lots of practice in spelling and writing. Spelling wasn't really a problem since it only involved memorizing a string of letters. I was lucky that memorization was easy for me. By the time I hit high school, I was pretty much up with my friends and by the time I graduated I was ahead (funnily enough).

But, when I am reading or writing (especially typing) I get angry if I'm interupted, that's how focused I am. That is if you can attract my attention. Sometimes I have to be touched before I realize I'm being spoken too. Drives the family wild!

What is really amusing, is to go back to some of the books I read in elementary/middle school and find the story I remember to not be the same. Evidently, I made up things when I couldn't comprehend what I was trying to read. Parts of the story will be the same, other parts it's as if I never read it, and still others never happened at all.

Nowdays, it doesn't affect me much except when I am tired or trying to listen and write at the same time. Tired makes me start transposing letters and leaving off suffixes and reading things that aren't there. I try to read everything twice before posting and proofreading my own two or three times, but sometimes I miss the point and post something really off the wall. I try to warn people when I think that's likely to happen.

Good morning all!

Well, two days of sun and then a week of rain. So I'll probably let the house go today and get the yard and animals totally caught up and then relax and let it rain! Plenty of time for ironing and such then.

We're supposed to go look at a five month old pup today a breeder wants to give us. The humans involved are getting older and getting out of the breeding business. They have been working with Queensland heeler/Australian shepherd crosses and were going to keep this young man for a stud later, but now simply want to find good homes.

We need another dog like a hole in the head. Have two now. But would this be a good playmate for Dusty now that King's arthritis is so bad???? Or would King feel displaced??? Animals from these litters from these people have been used in professional advertising, movies, search and rescue....they really are fine animals....

We'll see.

"But, Vicki, why are you GIVING him away to us?"

"Because for this one especially I want a guaranteed good home and I want to be able to visit him."

Now what do we say?

but a new pup takes a lot of time and training and attention

and we have absolutely nothing else to do...

God bless you all. Have a lovely day!

Good Afternoon Everybody,

About the only good thing I can say about the cooler weather is that it's great sleeping weather at night. Can't help it I like warm weather.

HelenIsn't it "amazing" that that woman just knew that you would love and care for that pup? Wouldn't be surprised at all if there aren't two nail-scarred hands applauding you this very minute.

My MIL woke up scared and confused about 1:30 this morning. She had our number on redial, we make sure it's there every night, and she called terrified. I was at the house in 5 minutes and got her calmed down, and reassured her that I'd be there and nothing would hurt her. Not sure what is causing this whether it's mini-strokes, medications, dehydration, or what. Guess maybe a CT scan is in order. Seems my nights will be occupied for the near future. Doesn't bother me. I'm not much, but I do my best. I'm deaf in my R ear and always scared to death that she'll yell or fall and I won't hear her. Needless to say, I'm up all night because I'm there to help, not sleep. She seems to be okay during the day so I cam home for awhile.

I brought in Hot Artichoke Dip, Pulled Pork, Buns, Mexican Slaw, and Molten Chocolate Cakes for dessert. Enjoy.

It's a Dog-eat-Dog World, and it seems like I'm wearing Milk-Bone Underwear.

Good afternoon all,
Rob: Lunch sounds delicious! I'll just sneak a peice of cake since I had a ham sandwich.
I am taking a break from house cleaning and can't be gone too long. It is getting piled up here. Today is a beautiful day. It is really hard to convince myself that I need to clean now! Oh well, oldest neice has a soccer game soon and then nephew has one after that so I'll be outside long enough!
When you think about it, please keep my baby niece in your prayers. She is having some stomach problems. The program that buys her formula switched brands and she started having problems after that. I got her some of the original kind, some bottled water (we were using tap water) and some electrolyte replacement. Hopefully that will take care of it. If not, we are going to the doc next week!
I need to get back to the house and get rid of some of the mess!
Y'all have a good weekend.

LOL - Well "older" as in their 20s as the majority of our premarital counseling has been so far. :D I would have said "older" for 40's even (and I'm there!!). What I'm saying is that they are not young whippersnappers - both were married for almost 30 years before..... (both of their divorces were in the last 5 years.)

I was just kidding you Ann. No doubt they're probably set in their ways and each one thinks their own way is right. There is an "I" in mine, but never in "ours."

Once a Bigamist was in jail and complaining "My Wives don't listen to me. They never ask my opinion." A detective passing by paused by the cell and remarked "A Man with two Wives doesn't have any opinions...he just nods a lot."[from the TV series Barney Miller.] :wavey:

I can hear you all the way up here in Michigan!

YOU TOUCH MY PRECIOUS LITTLE FLOWER, AND I'LL PLANT YOU!!

I dug the hole where nobody'll think to look, and the gunny sack, and the rags to mop up the blood are behind the dog pen. Let me know if you need help lifting.
