    Good Monday morning to everyone!

Aren't you glad a new week is starting? :D Isn't it lovely to have a cheerful person greeting you this morning? It's all to warn Tanya though, that I'm in one of my annoying cheerful without cause moods and I expect to be this way all day long.

She should be in a pretty good mood herself as we get to go to the church to sew today. First time we've been able to since the holidays. Today is the kids last day of break and they are pretty much ready to play at the church too. We've been out of our routine!

I gotta get this house straigtened up before we go though and hunt out a smocking plate one of the ladies wants (though I may just pack up the stack of magazine and take it with me).

We are back to bare feet and t-shirt weather here. It is wonderful. The only thing I could wish for is rain. My evergreen is drooping. I've been here 8 years and this is the first time I've had to worry about watering something in the winter.

    Ya'll enjoy your day!

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 55 and overcast here right now our forecasted high is for 61 and thunderstorms this afternoon. BUT the forecasted high for Friday is only 32. All of our snow is gone and we can see grass again. Anybody want to lay odds how long that will happen?

Tanya: I heartily agree this is strange weather[even for Michigan.]

Cuz: Sounds like t-shirts and bare feet up here too today. Not too bad when Michigan has the same weather as Alabama in January is it? We're forcasted rain this afternoon - I'll pm you enough for your evergreen.

Since it feels like spring in January here how about a spring/summer lunch? I brought in Grilled Firecracker Burgers with Cooling Lime Sauce, Banana-Pepper Cole Slaw, and Strawberry Shortcake with Whipped Cream. Enjoy.

Time to go out and enjoy the nice weather before it's gone.

    Good Morning Everybody,

WOW!! This place is big when nobody's here.

It is now 51 and raining here. Overnight we've had thunderstorms and tornado watches....YES, in January...and YES in Michigan. Hmmm, I wonder. Since Michigan seems to be getting Alabama-type weather I wonder if Alabama is getting the snow and ice that Michigan usually endures, I mean enjoys, in January?

I think something is up here. I keep seeing animals walking in pairs during the rainstorms. You don't think?....

I'm not complaining though. This weekend we are forecast to have a winter storm and everything will be back to normal.

Pancakes, Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, and Sausage Gravy and Biscuits are set out for anybody who wanders in and is hungry. Enjoy.

Since it's a rainy, dreary day let's have a contest to liven things up. Since it's raining enough here to build an ark, the winner of our contest can be the official Ark Angel [puns at this time of the morning *groan*]

Dust off your Bibles...here we go,
Who was it in the Bible who killed 1/4 of the people on earth?

Tomorrow we'll see who got it right.

I'm here, Cuz. Just had to exchange T's paycheck for power and phone service and other such stuff before I could come in. The good news is we won't freeze and we'll still be online. Food, however.....nah, we won't starve neither. Well, if I can get someone to cook anyway.

    Good morning everyone!

I'm not quite in as good a mood as yesterday. The body is rebelling and what it really wants to do is go back to sleep! Not going to happen though. We have to do school. Chris has been slacking the last few weeks and only getting the essentials done (I keep telling him gym is not essential, but it seems he gets more of that done than anything. ). We're going to fix that starting today. He's not going to like school taking an extra hour of 'his' time, but that's what is going to happen. That extra hour will consist of logic, test prep, fluency and extra spelling (the last few years have left him behind in these skills).

While he is doing all that, I have to take apart Cass' pageant dress and put it back together, smaller. And clean house (the house isn't going to get real clean today!).

    Ya'll have a good day!

    Sure if you want to.

    * Sheesh * I thought this would be a tough quiz and Gayla thinks she has the answer already.

Understand about exchanging $ for food, utilities, etc Cuz.I just know that WalMart wouldn't make payroll if we didn't grocery shop there.

Our gas just hit $3.19/gal here. I'm thinking of going back to a horse. They're cheaper to feed and take care of. Would I have to file an environmental impact statement with the EPA because of the ethanol that horses emit? [well, it is Natural Gas isn't it?]

    The answer is Cain?

Oh - and horses are WAY more expensive than gas unless you live in a cheap area, have a lot of property and barns already set up and can raise your own hay. Whirl costs about $800 for his owner per month. Of course, he eats like a very BIG horse! LOL! Starr, who eats significantly less costs about $580 per month.

Today is running in the 60s and I have the windows open!! It's amazing!! I'm going to go ride again today, on the day that I'm not scheduled to ride because I think it would be a sin to not ride on a day like today! He was very good yesterday and I want to see how he is with 2 days in a row of good riding. I may even try to canter him - pray for my safety! LOL! He likes to buck and buck BIG when he canters so I've been avoiding it. Oh well - I don't want to see the hospital today so we'll see how he is.

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 37 and overcast here with a forecasted high of 38. Not bad for January.

The sellers bank wants to close on the new house this Friday, however; our loan application is in underwriting. According to my financial people underwriting used to take about 36-48 hours, but now those lengths are history. Our realtor thinks the sellers realtor may have made the Friday deadline. :BangHead:

Now for the answer to the question:
What do John the Baptist and Winnie the Pooh have in common?
I actually hadn't thought of Honey, but it does tie-in with both. So Gayla and Ann are both correct. You both win a 12-piece order of Locusts with Hunny [as Milne would say] dipping sauce.

The answer I was thinking of was that they both have the same middle name.
John the Baptist and Winnie the Pooh.

    Good evening all,
It sure is quiet in here. I am just dropping in for a moment-baby neice is sick and I am waiting for her mom to call and tell me if I need to meet her so they can take her to the emergency room. She is only keeping gatorade in her little tummy (to put it nicely)!!!!!!!
I had better go, I need to get some cleaning done before I hear from her mom.
Y'all take care I am grabbing a Mt. Dew for the road.

Just back from church for the evening. I spent a little time up there this afternoon too - putting together stuff for Sunday which will be our pastor's 40th anniversary at this church! Can you believe it?? We're having a big dinner for him on Saturday night and then a few special things on Sunday for him. I'm working on a powerpoint presentation with a song and I'm SO glad Bob was an audio engineer in one of his past lives because I need him to make Nichole Nordeman's song Legacy almost twice as long as the version on the CD. I have 75 pictures and the song is under 4 minutes - he's going to make it just over 6. Love that man! LOL!

I'm off to bed. I'm so tired and I've got some homeschooling and horseback riding to do tomorrow! Have a great night! I left some crumb cake on the counter for your enjoyment.

good morning all! i guess it is my turn to be in a unusually good mood.

so far i have laundry going, the dish washer has been ran and i am having a cup of coffee.

looks like we are going to have a dreary day...it is misting rain and 63°F outside. this time last week we had frozen water pipes.

my hubby hurt his back, he says i kicked him out of bed saturday when his alarm went off. i don't doubt this one bit, i just don't remember doing it. he has been off work for 2 days. he has gone it to work today and let me tell ya i am praying he makes it through the day. i really don't want him to be in pain...but...i'm not sure how much more of him being home i can take.

the coffee is ready, hot chocolate is on the counter as well. we have muffins, bagels, cereal and fresh fruit...help yourself.

    Howdy Everyone!

We are having the southern version of a snow day! They let school out early because of expected bad weather coming our way in the next couple of hours. Somehow, this isn't nearly as fun as snow. :(

It's gonna be fun anyhow! Tanya is coming this way with her kids and I should have 4 or 5 of my own, so something like a dozen kids between the two of us. Should make for a great time. :D

I better go batten down the hatches before it all arrives. Ya'll have a good day!

    Hey MK, how's the weather?
Has it passed y'all yet? Or should I ask how's the house? Or how're you and Tanya?

Looks like we'll get hit early tomorrow morning. North Georgia is starting to get the storms right about now.

Fun, fun, fun!! but hey, we need the rain!:flower:

    Y'all have a good night!:wavey:

Up late again folks, but I'm heading for bed!

Tomorrow is Brent's 14th birthday and I had to wait until he went to sleep to set his birthday gift out. It sure doesn't seem like he's been here that long, but I got him when he was only 10.

I also mixed up boiled omelets for breakfast so all I have to do in the morning is boil the water and drop the bags in.

I won't see him at all tomorrow after he goes to school. The boys are leaving for a basketball game as soon as school gets out and he won't be home until around midnight.

He picked out his birthday supper, but due to the basketball game tomorrow, that and his cake will have to wait until Saturday.

We'll be having (at his request) fried chicken, mashed potatoes and chicken gravy, corn on the cob, and lemon cake with chocolate frosting (yuck).

Anyway, I am leaving the fixin's for boiled omelets on the counter. Make sure you just boil them for 13 minutes exactly!

    Pleasant dreams all!
