VERY important update on my life: I left a gallon of milk at the store. This is bad, and totally disrupts our cookie and milk plan for dessert tonight. I also forgot to call them when I got home to make sure they held it for me, so I'm not sure the same workers are there. However, I plan on calling now that I just remembered, although I'll most likely promptly forget to go back and get it, at which point I'll feel too dumb to call again. :tonofbricks:

    Good afternoon all,
    It's raining.....
Ike is supposed to send more this weekend. My poor niece is set on having her birthday party Saturday. She will be 11 and isn't taking no for an answer. I personally think it's funny, she definately is her mother's daughter.
Oh well, I am dropping off some roast, potatoes, biscuits and some chocolate chip cookies. I had better go, I need to get the rest of the cookies going. Y'all take care!

Hello everyone, I cannot believe it has been a year since I was last here. I gave my computer to mum as a Christmas gift which was great for her and a sore trial for me as I am quite attached to cyber space.

I have a new computer and a new address. I moved from Brisbane Queensland to across the ditch and now reside in Wanganui on the north island of New Zealand. Just up the road is Jerusalem he hehe.

The climate is vastly different and the locals have an amusing accent:laugh:

    Good Morning Everybody,

    Welcome back Melanie!

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile but I've really been down for the last week and haven't felt like doing much.

Brenda should be able to come home from Pat's next week. Pat has made enough progress with her Physical Therapy that she is getting around well with her walker.

We're supposed to have a possibility of up to 3 inches of rain in the next few days courtesy of Ike.

I'll try to check back in when I can.

Rob - I'll be praying for renewed strength for you and your wife during this rough time. ((HUGS))

Nothing much going on here. I'm at church working right now (actually, am waiting for something so I thought I'd check the board). We have a wedding tomorrow and then a birthday party on Sunday (weather permitting). Things are good and we're all healthy, thank God! :)

    Hi all,

Home schooling a high-schooler is keeping me busy!!!

    Welcome back, Melanie!

Gayla's funeral is this afternoon in OK and I'm sure all the ladies from the WPF have been thinking of her and her family all day. We sent her a bouquet of pink roses because that was her favorite color and we also took up a love offering for her husband and two children.

    We will miss her posting...

So sorry to read about Gayla's passing, but rest assured that she has been promoted to Glory.

I enjoyed much personal correspondence with her and exchange of some books on British royalty and especially some books on Prince Charles and Diana. These were rare books directly from England and I was pleased to delight her before before her passing.

    I shall miss her.

    Cheers, and God bless,

    Jim

    Good morning all,
I am just dropping in for a moment to grab a Mt. Dew and say I hope you all have a blessed weekend. My neice agreed (finally) to change her birthday party but today is going to be busy enough so I personally am glad! Anyway, soccer starts today and I need some energy! Y'all have a good day.

Another one just stopping by. I'm finishing a cup of tea before heading out to go shopping for a birthday gift for a friend's son. We had a wedding this afternoon that was SO sweet and we enjoyed ourself so much. The bride is quite a pip - a very bubbly, sweet, bouncy kind of a girl and her wedding reflected it. We all laughed as she and her groom were ready to kiss throughout the ceremony - so much so that the pastor finally said "You need to wait. It's not time." then "Soon!" then "One last thing" before he finally said "NOW!" ROTFL They were SOOO cute together and the day was just lovely.

Well, my tea is just about done. Time for me to hit up Target! Catch ya'll later!

I took to drinking ice tea this past summer - sweet tea - but no sugar - flavored - love it.

SOme of you know that I retired in April 07 - went back to work from Sept to Dec 07 - then went back to work again in April 08 - beats sitting at home and bugging Jan - she tired of me telling her how to keep house.

    Have a great day!

Hey Dan - You know you can always take over the cleaning if you think you can do it better. ;) See? Us women stick together. LOL

Well, my daughter's college set up another bus in the morning so now she can catch a later train at our own station! I'm so happy! Now we can leave at 7:15 instead of 6:50 and I can be home before 7:30! Woo-hoo!!

Went riding today and the stupid horse is hurting himself. I rode him anyway even though he was limping - it was his own fault! But once we got going, he did much better. Stupid boy. He needs to know that a big horse running in very small circles in his stall will result in a sore shoulder. DUH!! You'd think with a head as big as his, he'd have SOME kind of a brain. Guess not. LOL

Well, left some fresh cookies and muffins on the counter and coffee is set. Everyone have a wonderful night!

Thank you for the welcome back....my sincere gondolences Rob, you are in my prayers, and all the kind folk on the BB.

I have experienced my first earthquake it was 5. something on the Richter Scale but the local news did not cover it...is this blase, blase:tonofbricks: , it made me a lttle twitchy. The hospital where I am working is new, and is on steel springs and rubber shockies...how bout that....Australia is on solid ground and is old geologically, but not EnZed.....the Spring is here and my goodness it is pretty....having more defined seasons is great. Needless to say I am cold, the maximum temperatures are the minimum in Brisbane but the grass smells green, is lush and does crackle underfoot as in dry old Queensland, it rains occasionally, and there are flowers everywhere. Good walking weather, I am not in a lather of sweat after a block.....Kiwis love tramping, bushwalking to Aussies.....

    Hey Everyone!

Cass is still running for homecoming queen. Well, she gets the glory, I get the running. Not fair, but life isn't.... :D She might break the $500 mark tonight. Not sure how it happened, but that seems to be what it is. One more week of fundraising and then it goes to a vote among the top five fundraisers by the student population. Did I tell you that we think there are only 5 girls still running? :D Of course that may just be a rumor.....like the part where two got tossed, one for smoking and one for shoplifting......we'll see.......

Ya'll enjoy yourselves. As part of my fundraising duties, I have been preparing chicken dressing plates all day: you get chicken dressing, corn, green beans, yeast roll and pound cake.

I'm done for the day and will see you the next time I get to sit down!

Glad to hear that y'alls staying on top of things! :D

We had a wind storm Sunday that brought 84 mph winds. No rain, but lots of damage and still no power for over half our local population. Our power is back on but oldest son's power still off on this 4th day. He and his wife shower and share a meal with us each evening. It's been a wild ride!

Still trying to catch up on this last week's posts. HAGD everyone! :wavey:

Mom's Taxi Service here. Need a ride somewhere? Not a problem. I have nothing else to do....

Jeepers! It will be a busy scheduling day and lots of driving here and there. Drove DD to the train, other DD to school. Fielded a crying DD's phone call because she got on the wrong train and was in a strange train station and would be late for class. Got a call that all is OK and I don't have to drive 25 miles to get her to school (then 25 back). Mom's group at church is today - I have 4 new moms expected with babies from 9 weeks to 10 months. I have to homeschool before that (they're doing their work now). Then I have a birthday party for my friend at 4 and NEED to leave at 6. Pick up 2 more DDs, drop one off at school for National Honor Society for an informational meeting, pick up the train DD at 6:35 then head up to church to work and for the DDs to go to KidStuf. DS would go but he didn't do well in homeschool last Thursday so he lost the ability to go to KidStuf. DH will have to pick up DD from school after the meeting because I don't get out of church until about 9PM. Then it's home, get ready for bed so we can start tomorrow. LOL

So, I'll take my coffee in a travel mug - and maybe take some extra in the thermos. Just look for me on the GPS - you might find me somewhere! LOL

Son Kelly and his wife Elizabeth - expecting their fifth in March 09 - granddaughter Abigail hopes its a girl - says she'll ask her parents to adopt the child out - if it's a fourth boy.

But we'll take whatever God sends their way - this one will make number eight for us - don't think I'll ever catch up with Sue!!!

Glad to hear you made it through the wind storm okay!

We too were hit hard in our part of Ohio. That wind was awful, it's was clocked at around 78 miles per hour around here. We had no power for about 26 hours, and others just down the road didn't get theirs back on until yesterday morning. I know that there are other places like in Belmont and Harrison county that won't get power till maybe Sunday.

It's amazing how just losing your power, that you take it for granted everyday. I'm praying for the people in Texas who won't have it for maybe months. And many don't even have homes to go back too. It really makes you thankful for where you live and what you have.

Congratulations Dan! Babies are such a blessing. :)

It's beginning to feel like fall around here and it's wonderful. Fall is my favorite season and I'm beginning to feel energized. Today we need to get homeschooling done for the week since we don't do school on Fridays if we don't need to. I have to work then we have homeschool group so there's no time to do bookwork. I want to call our chimney guy and schedule him to come to clean the chimneys and gutters. I'll have him come again in December for the gutters but for now, they need to be done. Bob's certainly not going up there ever again! He fell off the roof 4 years ago and crushed his foot. 5 months of me driving him around is enough to make ME go up to clean them - but with Rocky charging $50 to do it, we just go ahead and let him. :)
