Oh dear there is weather in Ohio too.....hope you recover quick......Another walk around this very civilised size city....here in EnZed they have weather called sprinkles and rain bombs.....I love it walking in the rain it is very invigorating I have not copped the wnd that bedevils the city around now and October...the folk seem to make sport a religion which is so facile, but harmless in the appropriate degree I guess.

Off to the opera house tonight....

I homeschooled for a while. Look into a tutor. For example, in this town there is a small college. Freshmen are capable of tutoring for a reasonable fee. Meeting once or twice a week can make all the difference.
My oldest tutored just like that when he was a freshman and sophomore in college.

If no college in your town, see if you can post an ad at the high school for an older student to tutor. And sometimes regular high school teachers supplement their income with such a client base. For $50 or $60 a month, you may love the results.

I am just dropping by for a moment. Dad wasn't doing too well yesterday so I am staying home with him this morning. Mom had to go to church since she couldn't find anyone to teach the kids this morning. My neice's party is this afternoon and then one of my sisters should be here doing laundry tonight so I can go home and get ready for a busy week at work. Mom fell two weeks ago and tore a ligament and cartiledge in one of her knees. The doctor is going to wait to see if it will heal before scheduling surgery and will tell her in three weeks what he thinks. I had better run, I have laundry to do. Y'all have a blessed day!

More ramblings from NZ....I trust my spelling is a bit better today.

Suffered orientation to the job...all those horrible mandatory training one tries not to yawn through....fire safety, bullying and harrasement,customer training, and back care ..........met some more nice folk, noticed that tattooing seems BIG here, it is a cultural thing with the Maori but I do find it distasteful...oh well I dont have the faintest desire to ever acquire one.

Going to find a clay pigeon shooters club and an archery group...stuff that looks like fun, and the paraglider passion....felt a tremor last night here in the shakey isles....I wonder how many months it will take me to become blase about earthquakes:sleeping_2:

Good Morning Everyone!

Today should be the last morning I have to get up and fix things for my little homecoming queen wanna be to sell. PTL, I have survived. Whether she make the homecoming court or not will be announced on Friday. She is ending her fundraising efforts this afternoon and we will go to the bank and turn all these dollars into a check for her to give to the school tomorrow.

I have to run take a check to Jen's school here in a few minutes. Not fundraising money though, she forgot her lunch money! Then back by Wally world where my guinea pigs expect me to buy them some food and then back to clean the house. We wrecked it over the weekend.

I'm hoping life will return to normal now that there is only ONE fundraising effort left to do. This to fund a trip to nationals for the kids at the karate school and to help fund the sponserships we do for kids in foster or group homes. Selling cookie dough for that one (a different kind of cookie dough than that we sold for Chris' school. ). I'm about done with fundraising. When this one is over, better nobody mention fundraising again to me for a goooooood loooooooong time!

Youngest one, Anna, had a baby tooth pulled this morning, so her oldest sister caught a break from homeschooling.

Making Katie's Ribs as we speak, and it smells yummy in here!

The weather has cooled some, so that is great.

Gonna go to the garden in a couple more days and pick MORE cherry tomatoes and probably a few peppers. I had about two weeks where it was really hot out and I couldn't get to the garden, so a lot of stuff dried. Fortunately, one of the ladies (it's a community garden) made use of a few of the items that were ripe! I'm so glad she did and let her know that if she doesn't see me around and things are ripe, she can use them!

We were able to give a nice boxful of produce to Salvation Army, and another bagful to a couple who has their own business, which is struggling a bit lately, and can't afford the high costs of fresh produce lately and appreciated fresh, organic stuff! I love the gardening thing!

We ate our best cantaloupe yet yesterday, and gave another to some guy who was doing work on the property. It's cool to get so much stuff for so little work, or what FEELS like so little work because it's FUN!

Sue, I hope you are feeling better this morning. And can I just say oooooww! for Brent? Poor kid!

I have a whine this morning. I misread the calendar and there is still one more day of fundraising for homecoming queen. Nooooooooooooooooooo! I was sooo ready for it to be over and now I have to survive another day!!!!!!!! Sniff!

Busy day today, for me. I have to go to the bank and trade all Cass' change and checks for cash, pack Jenna up for a three day field trip, and then head to karate where I will recieve my black belt, finally!

In between all that, I need to cut out a dress for Cass so she'll have something to wear for pics if she makes the homecoming court, vacuum my poor green swimming pool and try to fix the leak, and try to clean up some in this house. I didn't get much of that done yesterday. Oh, and do school with Chris! Can't forget that!

And here I was thinking things were slowing down.

Went up the Whanganui River with Noel the Mail and then by jet boat to the Bridge to Nowhere........on my way there went to Jerusalem to see the historic church which was lovely. Sadly, my fool camera died and so I shall have to do it all again for photos....goodness it was a marvellous day, saw lots of lambies sporting on near vertical pastures, tails awagging at the milkbar.....

I am so happy to be blessed in seeing the greatness of God's creation:godisgood:

Wow! That sounds very exciting! I know what you mean about being blessed to see God's creation, many times I have been near tears just trying to grasp the greatness of God. Just how big, powerful, and mighty He is. And also seeing His beautiful handy work all around! GOD is GOOD!

LOL Blackbird! We are now a whole family of black belts. T, Chris and Jen have had theirs for 6-8 months. Cass and I had to battle our arthritis so it took us longer. According to the guys who held for me while I broke the boards required, "we don't want to make you mad or meet you in a dark alley". :laugh:

Things are a bit slower this morning. Only a pool to vacuum, laundry to do, grass to mow (complete with weedeating), a dress to sew and school to do.

Thanks Ann. I think T is prouder of my black belt than I am. :laugh: I don't think he really believed that I would get this far.

I got a good bit of my list done yesterday. The pool looks better, though I didn't quite find the leak. This leak is puzzling me. I've had a slow leak in an obvious location and had thought it had just gotten bigger while I was dealing with the algae infection. But yesterday while I was vacuuming the now dead (hopefully) algae out of the pool I noticed a "spring" spurting from an entirely different part of the pool.

So I'm vacuuming around trying to feel for a washed out spot that a leak of that size would certainly cause when it suddenly just stops. I did everything I could think of to start it back again but no.

Hopefully, today or tomorrow I can get in the pool and maybe find where it is at. I'm afraid it might be along the liner seam, but who knows? At least the pool isn't green anymore. ($50 worth of chemicals later. ) I haven't check it really this morning to see if it's spurting again, but it doesn't appear to have lost much water since yesterday.

Mostly today, I'm going to work on a dress for Cass for homecoming. She'll find out for sure today if she made the "court". The school newspaper had already run a piece introducing 5 girls as this years homecoming court, but a sixth one turned in money yesterday, so I suppose we'll wait for the official announcement. I have a feeling she'll wear this dress to the dance either way. She's been trying to talk me out of this particular piece of fabric since I bought it for myself.
