    Good Morning Everybody,

It is sunny and nice here. The forcasted highs for today through Tuesday are around 76 degrees.

We had a tragedy occur just down the road from us the other day. A crew of tree-trimmers from the county were working on some trees when one of the workers was hit by a falling tree. One of my neighbors drove thru there just after it happened and called 911. When he got home he told me, so since I'm CPR-Certified I drove down. I got there before the Rescue but there was very little I could do. It's hard to do chest-compressions on somebody who has a crushed chest. Rescue arrived and evaluated the patient then called for a helecopter to transport him. The man died about an hour after he arrived at the Trauma Center. His name was Jimmy and he leaves behind his parents and his fiance. Would you please pray that his family is comforted, and knows that Jesus is real and active in his love and care for them.

Thanks for breakfast Tanya. Have you seen anything of that human dynamo commonly known as my Cuz?

The Gkids go to their Dad's tonight thru Sunday, and our daughter is vacationing in Washington D.C. then going to W. Virginia to be with her Dad who is participating in a Civil War Re-Enactment there this weekiend. So this weekend is just going to be Brenda and I here together. Not sure what we'll do. There are a number of Fall Festivals in the area maybe we'll visit some of them.

Time to do some grocery shopping at Walmart. Maybe I'm going there too much since several of their employees call me by my first name. 'Ya think?

    Here I am Cuz!

I believe I am finally done with fundraising for this year! I have gone from one (Chris's school) to another (Jenna's school), to another (Cass' homecoming run) to another (national competition trip for the karate school) since the beginning of August! Other folk in this area are still funding raising cause I see the signs just about everywhere I go! I'm glad I'm done.

So instead of fundraising activities I have been sewing today. Still have lots more to do, but a girl's got to eat so that's what I've been doing for the last little bit. I have more to do, but I'm considering dessert and by then it'll be time to go pick up Jenna from school. Such hard decisions! :D

I left chicken dressing, green beans, corn, fresh rolls and pound cake for anyone who wishes to partake.

    Ya'll have a good day!

    Good afternoon all,
I am just dropping by for a minute. I am leaving some bbq and some cheddar cheese rolls, corn salad and baked beans if you all would like some. I am going to be a pig and keep all the fruit salad for myself though! I don't get it that often so I am going to enjoy eating it. I am finishing up laundry and then I need to get going since it will be time to get home and get ready for the week.
Dad had some tests done last week and the results aren't that wonderful so he is going back to the cardiologist on the 20th. Other than that, things here are pretty good. Time to hit the road. I hope you all have a blessed week!

    Good Morning Everybody,

No doubt around it, Fall is just around the corner. The nights are getting cooler and the high tempertures for the days are slowly headed down.

Our Daughter got back from Washington D.C. with loads of pictures and memories. She said what was the most interesting was the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They watched the changing of the guard and heard about the history and the requirements for serving in this elite military unit. They next went to Lewisburg, W. VA for a Civil War re-enactment that her Father participated in. They took tours of the historic Williamsburg area and enjoyed it very nuch.

I cut the grass [and the leaves, LOL] yesterday. Nice to get both done at the same time.

Thought I'd bring in breakfast for anybody who wanders in. Pancakes, Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Home Fries, and Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. Enjoy.

Still don't know what to do about church. The animosity and the anger keep getting worse. We've been invited by some friends to visit their church this Sunday. The church is having a Fall Festival after services.

Time to wander off and get some yardwork done.

    Good morning everyone.

I woke up a bit under the weather, took some meds for it and now I am very sleepy! It was only advil! I'm seriously thinking about a second pot of coffee to stave off doziness. I have stuff to do today.

Right now, I'm enjoying the nice breakfast my Cuz left us. Hmmm, maybe that's why I'm soo sleepy. To much virtual food! :D

Today will be spent, once I wake up good, sewing! I have to fix patches on a karate uniform I did yesterday cause I didn't have good instructions and then I need to put patches on Cade's uniform. I'll get three more uniforms to put patches on this evening.

All this cause there is a national Taekwondo event in Chattanooga this weekend that the kids will be competing in. Should be fun. Chris competed in one in April and came home with a silver medal in forms.

Ya'll have a good day. I"m going to get moving and see if I can wake up!

    Good afternoon all,
It is a wonderful fall day! I have finished cleaning the living room carpet and the hall. I am only coming in for a minute but I did bring in some makings for fajitas and chips, salsa and queso. Help yourselves. Y'all have a good weekend.

    Good Morning Everybody,

Sean just got his first wheelchair today. The doctors say they haven't given up hope, and they do intend to fit Sean with braces since he has movement down to his mid-thigh, but it is just so hard to see that little boy in a wheelchair.

I knew it was coming, and I've been trying to prepare myself for this, I guess I just didn't do a very good job of it. I've been crying for some time this morning, I just can't help it.

I know that Jesus has a plan for this little boy, and the doctors still say he'll be fitted with braces and may eventually be able to get around with crutches but it's still so hard to see and accept.

I'm sorry my faith is so weak, if you would please pray for us I would appreciate it. Thank You.

((HUGS)) Rob. I heard someone say something that I thought was good - and might help you through this:

Don't forget in the bad times what God has revealed to you in the good times.

That's most likely a rough paraphrase but it struck me. Remember that God is good and He is sovereign. He has a plan for Sean and while we might not know what it is right now, we can have faith that God has something in store.

I realize I haven't been here in a while! Life is the usual busy with a college student who's now working too (and still not yet driving), a junior in high school who's working on getting a job and just started driving, homeschooling the two littles and being busy with life. We might be facing a 10% pay cut at church which would not be good since we're getting by just barely so please pray that giving would be good enough that we don't need to go there. SIGH

I left a fresh apple pie made with the last of the cortland apples on the counter. It's amazingly yummy!! Enjoy!!

    Good Morning Everyone!

(((Cuz!))) Don't you worry about that baby. God holds him in the palm of His hand just as he hold you.

One of Cade's friends was born with cerebral palsy and is half in and half out of a wheelchair. He uses braces and a walker when he's out. Let me tell you that that fella is a charmer! He is smart, funny and ambitious and he doesn't let his disability get in the way of what he wants to do. He's an impressive young man.

You must make the most of Sean's abilities and not get caught up in the disabilities.

((Ann)) you get hugs too. This financial mess is taking it's toll on everyone. I'll keep you in my prayers.

We are back from the karate tournament! I am happy to announce that Jenna recieved the bronze medal in her group for sparring and Cade won silver in his group for the same. Even though Chris and Cass didn't place, everyone had a wonderful time.

I've been recovering for the last two days and dealing with Chris new pet: a baby African house snake. So far, she still alive. :D How long that lasts is anyones guess! I told my kids I wasn't used to neckkid pets.

Ya'll have a good day. I have to get dressed and head over to the pet store to see if they have any newborn mice for our baby snake.

Eeeeew! Did I just say that???

Just a quick rush in to grab a cup of tea and say "Hi!". I'm also heading off to church in a few minutes. Man, I pray the offering is good today because if it's not, we're looking at a 10% pay cut as of the first. NOT a good thing when both DH and I work for the church. We're barely making it as it is now with a daughter in college and losing 10% will really hurt us. :(

On that note - I'm off!!

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

    Thanks for the chili Cuz.

The weather is supposed to turn nasty tomorrow. We're forecasted to have the bottom drop out tomorrow with rain and possibly snow showers.

    Praying for you Ann. :praying:

I'm starting to handle Sean being in his wheelchair a bit better. I was out with him yesterday and he was going up and down the road. Thanks for all the prayers.

Brenda's been fighting a Migraine for almost a week now and it's seeming to get a bit better. I couldn't see any point in taking her to church today. Things are going from bad to worse. Many people are just staying home rather than get embroiled in the fighting. I really hate to start looking for a church again, but I'm just so sick of all the fighting and gossip. Every week seems to be worse than the last.

I've been having kind of a "down day" so I don't expect much will be going on.

I'll try to check in sometime this week.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Two days in a row with energy, so I'm off to clean house and sew. Got plenty of both to do after a week of doing nothing.

Ya'll have a good day and share the fresh bread I left on the counter.

Morning all!! Well, Lauren drove home from work last night by herself and LIVED!! Woo-hoo!! That was a big milestone for us. But it's not the beginning of her always driving herself because she's not really a good driver but we needed to let her drive home last night since she had a paper due today and there was no one available to get her. SIGH - this is tough!!

Well, today will take us to a nature center nearby for a homeschool group field trip then I'll go riding. I'm hoping DH can take the kids with him so I don't have to take my already allergy/asthma ridden child to the barn where he's allergic to the horses. After that, it will be dinner (YIKES - got to get that in the crockpot!! Be right back!!)...

OK - that's done. Good thing too because I THOUGHT I put the pork in the fridge but it was in the freezer so I need to cook it on high for a while...

OK so anyway, we'll have dinner then we'll pick up our 16 year old from her first day at work (got a job at a local grocery store as a checker) then it's time to relax finally. I feel like we've been on the go a lot recently with Lauren in college and working, Nicole now beginning to work and each of us having other stuff going on at church/with friends, etc. So let the games begin.... LOL

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

The sun is out and it is 55 degrees here. As long as the weather is nice I decided to rake the leaves in the yard, I just do it the easy way...with the lawn mower! Despite common belief, my parents didn't raise any dumb kids.

Tonight is going to have to be an easy and fast dinner before the kids start coming to the door for trick or treat: Roast Chicken with Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, and Deep-Dish Blueberry Pie for dessert.

Don't know how many kids to expect tonight. We used to have high numbers of kids come to our door but last year was down considerably. The weather is supposed to be nice tonight so who knows?

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

    Hi Everyone!

I have been MIA lately. A lot has been going on around here that had to be taken care of promptly.

This is also the time of year for check-ups and tests with several different doctors for both DH and myself.

Of course, it won't get much better, timewise, with the holidays coming up, but I will try and stop in at least once a day.

    I miss y'all!!!

Wow! Did I scare everyone away? I finally decide I have time to drop in every day and now I'm double posting....
Come on back y'all. This place has been deserted long enough and I need help getting it back into shape.

    Good morning!

The leaves have all turned on the trees and are blowing into the yards. It's a beautiful time of year, but I don't much care for it because I know winter's coming and I do NOT like that!

I'm afraid we're in for an early, cold, and long winter, but am praying I'm wrong. It's already been below freezing here. I haven't seen any snow flurries yet though.

Today is laundry, and general cleaning day. I couldn't sleep last night. I've been up since 2:30a.m. I believe I'll have to slip in a power nap sometime today.

    Have a great weekend!
    §ue

P.S. Come next May, my name will be changed to I Am Blessed 20! This will be my 4th great grandchild. Woo Hoo! I guess I could change it now, since the grandchild is already in progress and will always be mine...

Hello Sue. Just to let you know that you are not alone. I have been a distant viewer and reluctant poster of late, but still about.

Enjoy your day "20" and blessings to you and yours as well.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Just a quick pop-in before I run out for the morning. It's been a crazy busy week topped off by my now 8 year old (his birthday was yesterda - yep, he's my Halloween pumpkin) coming down with walking pneumonia. OY!!

But this morning, I'm getting together with two ladies from church - one of the other pastors' wife and the wife of the head of the deacon board. We're needing to get out and get some real contact that's not ministry related so I think we'll make this a semi-regular getting together. :) I'm looking forward to it! We'll just get coffee and sit by the harbor. AHHHH. :)

Have a wonderful day! I left all my Halloween candy on the counter. PLEASE use it up! My belly doesn't need any of it.
