    Happy birthday Sue.....

Got a sad email today from across the ditch.....my car was stolen on Sunday night during a terrific storm in Brisbane.....the impertinent thieves under cover of the donner und blitzen.....entered my sister's back door which was open and boldly made off with car keys and 2 sets of house keys.

My sister was home alone.....her locks are renewed and the backdoor is now locked always.....my other sister has changed her locks, and me I bought a lottery ticket because I have been burgled 3 times so I reckon I deserve it....

The car is just a thing although it represents a financial loss even if insurance covers a greater part of it. Dear o dear, the Lord moves in mysterious ways....I wonder what will happen next:flower:

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

It is a nippy 28 degrees with snow showers here in God's country.

It think I heard the trumpet sound. This year for the first time we will be going out for Thanksgiving. My family thainks that it isn't fair that I have to do all the cooking on the holidays so we are taking a vacation this year. They don't believe me that I really don't mind the cooking, but I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings.

We made reservations for the ten of us at a local banquet hall that is serving a Thanksgiving Buffet. Guess I won't have to rely on leftovers for the next week though.

I spent yesterday with my Brother as he put a new water pump on our car. I treated him to dinner out for putting in all the hard work on a cold day. It sure helps to have a Brother who was a mechanic with his own garage before he became an RN. He got the brains and I got the...the...
    wait-a-minute, I got nuthin!!!

We draw names for Christmas gifts on Thanksgiving. I dread this because I am the world's worst at shopping for gifts for others. I've always been tempted to give a gift certificate but feel that's the coward's way out.

The Gkids are at their Dad's this weekend so it is quiet around here. Tonight is Breakfast for dinner for the three of us: Eggs, Waffles, Bacon, Sausage, Home Fries, and Sausage Gravy and Biscuits.

Getting ready to watch my almer-mater [sp?] [Michigan State] beat Penn State in football. Hey, don't laugh my major wasn't english. :saint:

    Good Morning Everyone!

It is going to be a busy day before Thanksgiving at the menagerie! I have carpets to clean, floors to mop, cooking to do and hopefully by the end of the day I'll be ready to enjoy a peaceful Thanksgiving Day and I am looking forward to it!

I hope everyone who hasn't visited the the Coffee House in a while is well, happy and has a wonderful Thanksgiving! Now come back and help me dust off the cobwebs in this place! :D

We're doing well just crazy busy with 2 girls working now and me homeschooling the kids and all of the other things in life. I still haven't gotten ready for tomorrow around the house but I DO have the turkey just about thawed and all of my groceries purchased. Whew!!

Today will find me running up to church to work on Sunday's service since we're off on Friday and then having my mom's group if anyone shows up. I also have an orthopedist appointment at 2:30 for my hip because it's been causing me a lot of pain. I went to a trade show 2 weeks ago and since then, the hip has just really been achy and has kept me up many nights so now it's time to see my dear friend Dr. Green. He really IS a dear friend and is in our small group. :)

After that, I'll come home to do some more housecleaning and then we have our church services tonight at 7.

Tomorrow we'll be having dinner at 1:30 with my dad and my ILs coming out. We're eating early because my ILs travel an hour and a half and they hate to drive in the dark so we'll do it early. I'm looking forward to all of the good food.

For all of the members of the Coffee House, I wish you all a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving. May God touch your hearts and lives with all that He's done for us.

    Good Evening Everybody,

This is the latest I've visited the Coffeehouse in a long time.

If you would please be in prayer for us we would deeply appreciate it. :praying: Sean was sitting on a floor vent yesterday and accidently burned his leg [he has no feeling ih his legs-just from the thighs up.] He has third degree burns on his leg, and is now at home on antibiotic burn cream, dressing changes and antibiotics to fight off an infection. The doctors said that we did everything right to protect the burned area before we could get him to the hospital. His mother took her eyes off him for a minute and he was gone [he can crawl like a bullet], she walked into the bedroom and found him sitting with his leg on the heating vent.

Tomorrow we are going to look at a 5-bedroom home. We've looked at plenty of homes but none seem to be big enough for the seven of us.

I'll try to check in tomorrow after we've seen the house.

Oh Rob! I'll be praying that you can find a home for all of you that will bless your family.

Things are good here. Just the same old-same old. :)

I've left some fresh pumpkin muffins on the counter for all to enjoy. It's nice to have the cool weather so I can bake again! :wavey:

    Good Morning Everybody,

It looks like we're going to be staying put. The house we looked at needs some major work + there is a sewer assessment that the new owners would have to assume. Not to mention that they need a new well too.

Sean is coming along fine with his foot. We put the antibiotic cream on it three times a day plus he is on oral antibiotics to prevent infection.

I brought in Waffles, Eggs, Bacon, American Fries and Sausage gravy and Biscuits. Enjoy.

Today is going to be a quiet day [I hope] with not much but grocery shopping and prescription pickup on the schedule.

I thought the bailout was supposed to be for the financial groups and possibly the automakers...I didn't know I was expected to "bail-out" Walmart with my grocery shopping too.

Grocery shopping kills us here. It's just SO expensive to feed all of us now! I try and try to get the grocery bill down but it just doesn't happen. SIGH I even do most of the cooking at home and try to not use convenience foods!

I was going to have my mom's group today (a support group for new moms at church) but my tummy is off and I have my 16 year old home with a bad tummy. So I figured it would be best to NOT be around babies. ;)

So I'm just home. I love being just home. I may run to the drug store in a few to pick up some Mylanta or something just to settle the acid in my stomach. Bleck!

Rob - I'm sorry about the house. It's hard to find a decent larger house that's not a fortune. I continue to pray that you can find something that will be perfect and will bless your family so you can bless others. :)

My seasonal job came to an end on Monday - this week - now maybe I log on more often - and see how my "old" friends are doing - and meet some "new" friends.

Son - Kelly, and his wife - Elizabeth -- are expecting their fifth child in March -- another boy - poor Abigail (just turned ten) - is still out-numbered. Silas Joseph will make four boys that she has to contend with.

This will be our eighth grandchild - love every one of them - don't see them often enough!

Jan and I adopted another cat - over the summer. Maxi made number 7 for us. Jan fed her well - she gained lots of weight - then she blessed us with three kittens that are now about three months old.

    Jack Daniel
    Amazing Grace
    Abigail Libby

To go with - Cali - Geroge Floyd - Beger - Punkin - Ishe (pronounced Izzy) and Puddin (now called Princess P - by Jan)

Maxi is an excellent mother - she's overly protective of her kittens - but is getting better. Maxi had visited the vet - and she will no longer be allowed to surprise us with little ones.

    Dan - in cat heaven!!!:tongue3:

Dan - Congratulations on the grandson and new cats. LOL!

Today we're switching over to all cable at the house - cable internet, TV and phone. It will save us about $70 a month to do this. So I'm just waiting for the guy to get here. We had to work at cleaning up this place which was a good thing - especially my bedroom. I don't know if anyone else does this but our bedroom has been the dumping ground for years - you know, "Quick! Someone's coming! Put it in mom and dad's room!" So now the room is just about clean and ready for him to go in there. :)

Other than that, weather permitting, today I'll go riding. Fortunately today is a warmer day so he should be good but the temp will drop this weekend with possible snow (our first if it sticks - we've had flurries). I hate winter riding because it makes the horses get all crazy and stupid. We'll see what happens. :)

Left some cut up pineapple and melon in the fridge. Enjoy! :wavey:

Activities are starting to wind down now that all the presents have been wrapped, boxed up, and mailed.

We will be out of state on Christmas day and the next day, depending on road conditions. We have a 500 mile round trip planned with a one night stay at a motel.

I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and much love! :)

    Good Morning Everybody,

Happy Day after Christmas to everybody [tryin' to put a nice face on being a day late and a dollar short.]

Talk about crazy Michigan weather; We had an ice storm last night, but the temps are supposed to top out in the 50s today with flood warnings posted for our area. Ya gotta love Michigan weather, can't do much else with it.

We had a nice Christmas with our family. The Gkids got spoiled with gifts [so did we, LOL], and we all ate too much.

We're all going to stay close to the house to avoid any falls on the ice today.

Friend of God, my family lives in MI and they've told me about the enormous amounts of snow! My Grandparents are in th UP. I talked to her on Christmas day and she asked about my weather. I told her it had been hanging in the mid 30s. Her voice trailed away, as if in daydream, as she said, "Lovely..." Then she told me that their's was below zero nearly every day. She said they had over 2 feet and about 4 inches more accumulated daily. She said that Marquette was totally dumped on all at once.

My Mom and in-laws reported 14 inches.

We've got maybe an inch. I'm ok with that. :)

So how was everyone else's holiday?

We had a great Christmas. Busy, of course, but wonderful. This is the first time I can sit and relax. It's great!!

Of course I have cleaning to do but I'm ignoring that for now.

We just had a weather alert come across the television and the computer for severe thunderstorms tonight with the possibility of tornados, however; the forecast for tomorrow is back to the 30s [we hit almost 50 today - I think we set a record] and snow showers.

Don't like Michigan weather?...wait five minutes it'll change.

My Wife was born in SE Kentucky and grew up in Chicago. She tells me that she has no interest in moving South again. So I guess I'll just have to be jealous of my Cuz and her air conditioning in December. :tongue3:

Well, I wouldn't move to SE Kentucky either, Cuz. (no offense to anyone who currently has the bad luck or courage to actually live there!) I have relatives who live there and an aunt who is literally buried on the side of a mountain! I'm not sure how they get the graves to stay put! Last time we went up there (for her funeral) one had to drive 20 miles to the nearest motel. They didn't even have a McDonald's there!

Alabama however, is a whole different place with a whole different culture. Not only do we have a McD's but we have Burger King too!

Or you could move her to Florida. The only state in the union that the further south you go, the farther north you get. But at least its warm!

Our holiday was nice and quiet (as quiet as you can get with 5 kids). I caught up on some sleep, which was very appreciated by all ;)

Today I'm making chili (for tomorrow----always tastes better when it sits a day or 2) and for tonight, chicken and dumplings and fresh bread.

It's been below zero (celcius) for several days now and my feet are freezing! We only have an inch or so of snow, but it's the cold that is so bad. Dh said that yesterday at church, it was so cold that his feet went numb in the church. This is the time of year that we worry about the people freezing to death.

Tomorrow dh goes back to working on the house. I can't imagine working out in this weather. Gotta love him!

Was quite frustrated with the kids last night, so I vented my frustrations by deep cleaning this house. Unfortunately, I did all the kids' chores for them, without thinking, so they've got too much free time on their hands----and again add to my frustration. What a Mom!
