This morning at 5:AM it was -46c. For those not familiar with celsius, at -46 the temp is the same as F. We also have two feet of snow on the turf! No turf cutting to-day!

I feel the cold now, too Barnabas..Could it be an age thing? I put hot coffee next to me this morning and before I could sip it down, it was ice cold,,,indoors!

Normal temps for this time of year is around -6c...Global warming, you know.

It is so cold here right now that we have to chip the ice off the milk before we can drink it...no kidding! And we keep it in the refrigerator for protection, but turned it off for now.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Okay, this is cracking me up!

It is FIFTY degrees outside right now! Dat's right, FIFTY! With no little minus sign.

It was -50 or thereabouts since...I don't even know now. But within 2 days the temp has change ONE HUNDRED DEGREES.

So now I get to sit here in the interior of Alaska and enjoy weather that's MUCH warmer than that of those who live in the warmer places.

Pardon me if I can't stop myself from saying this as I may well never get the chance again but...

NA NA NA NA BOO BOO!!!!!! :tongue3:

So, that's how global warming is going to work,,,,,in Alaska..........try going to your neighbour in the Yukon...They reportedly still have frigid temps.

I remember times in Saskatchewan just across the border from the North-West Territories. It would be 50 below for about two weeks and then warm up to 32f and it felt like summer.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Yeah - I'd like to just laugh in the next person's face who cries "global warming". LOL

Well, we're home, relaxing and doing take-out for dinner so I don't have to cook. I have the fire going right next to me and the kids are at my side playing with the doll house. What more can you ask for?

I'm going to lay down in a bit since I feel like I'm fighting something (but maybe winning??) A nice relaxing night at home will be wonderful. At church, there's a great seminar going on about raising teens and DH really didn't want to go out again. "Nah - I think our teens are fine." is what he said. LOL

Gina - that is absolutely CRAZY temperature swings!! Where in AK are you? I have a friend in Fairbanks - her husband was in some sort of politics for a while. Wonder if you're near her. :)

Well, I just have to say, if it is going to be less than 30 degrees here in Alabama it is supposed to SNOW! I don't see any snow? Who forgot to send us the snow??? I'm thinking it was Gina cause I distintly remember my weather man saying that this cold air was coming from her direction!

 Just kidding Gina! But it really is 20 degrees cooler here than normal and YOU do have our normal.

I two smart dogs last night as it went down to 8 degrees but this one:

    http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k89/crhmadeit/Mishka-1.jpg

decided to be a miss smarty pants and escape. Escapees get to spend the night in the cold cause I ain't chasin' no dog around in 8 degree weather. Took me 30 minutes this morning to coax her back into the house. She had enjoyed her romp in the cold. Guess who won't be getting off her cable again anytime soon?

I have 3 more hours of being out and about in this chill. Chris has a karate class and then I have two! How'd that happen?

(Edited only to remove oversized image.) :)

Beautiful dog, but slightly oversized (the picture that is). According to the BB rules, it ought not to be much bigger than the BB logo on the top left corner of the page. Sorry. :type:

    Barnabas, LOL!
You deleted my post that simply said it's a beautiful dog instead of editing hers, which has the picture.

That IS one trouble causing pooch!

It's still drip drip dripping outside with the sound of melting snow. We're inside eating nice warm beans-n-rice. Yummy!

    Evening all,
It's a balmy 32 here. That's better than the 10 degrees I think we had this morning. We are having a heat wave. It's only supposed to get warmer. I brought in some hot chocolate and some cookies. Help yourselves.

Oops! Sorry Barnabas! I posted the wrong pic! I have the same one that is avatar size. But I was posting as I went out the door and didn't realize until just now what I had done. It won't let me edit.

Hey Gina, can I blame you for this one too?

    Sure, why not? :flower:

I continue to be amazed at this place. In other parts of the country stuff shuts down when it gets cold, snowy, and freezing.

It hit fifty today and schools and other stuff are shutting down like mad, cars sliding off roads, etc..

We're celebrating the 14 yr. old's birthday tomorrow. She wants brownies instead of a cake and tacos for dinner. Whoo-hoo!
