Good EVENING! It's been a bit of an interesting day. My insurance denied payment on a medication I've been taking three times a day for almost a year and since that happened on a Friday evening, I'm in withdrawal now! (can't fix it till Monday at the earliest)
The on call doctor said I shouldn't notice anything. And I didn't...the first day. Today? I was, at various times, ready to

    A. Hug someone and tell them I love them
    B. Bite my way through the sanctuary walls and get away from humans
    C. Hug the wall and bite the person next to me

However, I'm sitting here now with cookies and milk and apart from a totally painless sensation that feels like my brain is shifting around in different spots, I'm a-ok! The cookies, of course, are chocolate.

Did you know there's some company out there now that is making a dark chocolate bar with filling made of cherries and chili peppers? I am IN LOVE! It is very very yummy, and nobody else will eat it, so I can buy just one bar and have it last for days! (it's big and made to be broken in squares) I may have mentioned that before, but it's worth another mention!

Amen, Gina L - i been there, done that :(
As usual, I pray for you daily.

I detest insurance clerks making decisions that only doctors should be able to make. I take several (well, eight) meds that say "do NOT discontinue without the advise of a Doctor)

    1. I am fortunate to have a Geriatric doctor who prescribes my meds for a three month period. My insurance company goes along with it. I hope Medicare goes along with it.

    2. When My MIL (Mother in law) was 91 (she died at 93) her doctor figured out she was taking too many med and needed something different so stopped all her meds at once and figured when something went wrong, her Rest Home would give him a call and he could prescribe something else. Well, like me, she a few heart regulator meds, mood regulator meds, and unlike me took an electrolilte regular or two. AT 91, nearly every med - nay, I say every med you take - you are going to take it the rest of your life. If the right meds were not already prescribed before one was 91, the person would never have made 91. DUH, even dum insurance clerks know that

Insurance clerks know nothing except what their bosses tell them! And those bosses have degrees in business not medicine! :( (can you tell I'm a fan of insurance??)

    Howdy do everyone!

We have officially survived the first day of school and I haven't had to ki---umm---mai----hurt anyone yet! :D I did wish that I could borrow one of the bulldozers that were working in the front of the elementary school and push a few dozen cars that were blocking the drive into the parking lot out of my way, though!

15 minutes before the bell was due to ring and I couldn't get into the stupid parking lot! I wanted to park and walk in as is my habit on the first day of school. I ended up making myself a parking spot on the side of the drive that goes around to the back parking lot (full of teacher's cars) instead, but it really irritated me because there were at least 20 empty spots in the front parking lot that I just couldn't get to!!!! Grrr!

Anyhow, Jenna's teacher still had his most of his hair so I guess things weren't too bad. :D I didn't get to see the other 5th grade teachers though, so I'm not sure.......

Sue, congrats on that new great grandson!

LOL! I both homeschool and public school depending on the kid! You know it's funny that I rarely get mad at the homeschool teacher. :D

I knew this construction was going to be going on and seriously thought about homeschooling the Jenna this year just for that reason alone. But, I've had a kid at that school for the last 11 years and thought I might as well make it an even dozen. This'll be Jenna's last year there as the youngest of 3. It has been an excellent school all these years and I've not regretted our experience there.

I began homeschooling my middle schooler, Chris, last year for mainly health reasons and then found it so enjoyable that Jenna won't ever see the inside of the local middle school. She can have the choice of whether to go back to high school. Our middle school is the broken link in our educational system. (They don't miss me either! :D )

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

It's been hot here the last week and we've been spending a lot of time at the lake at the Christian campground we go to. They belong to a national organization now and with membership the camping rates are slashed 50%, and for $1.00/per person you can use their lake for swimming, and the Gkids love that.

Other than that not too much going on around here.

Congratulations on the new Great-Grandson, Sue.

    Welcome to the Coffeehouse, Reformer.

I wish I had a video of you at that school Cuz, that would be priceless.

No swimming today, two of the Gkids have ear infections.

Time to go subsidize Walmart for groceries.

Cuz, if you pour a teaspoon of peroxide into those kiddy ears after they go swimming they won't get infected. Just pour it the ear, let is sit for a second or two and then let them turn their head over and drain it back out. The peroxide will pull out any lake water that is lurking in those little ear canals. Don't put it in an infected ear though!!! (you can use alcohol the same way, but most kids don't like the smell and if there is even a bit of infection, alcohol will burn like fire)

As far as pics of me in traffic goes, you'd have gotten a better one when Jenna came out and told me the comment one of her little enemies had made on only the second day of school. I still have an occasional smoke puff to escape my ears. How I missed that this particular child was in our class this year is beyond me. I'd have prepared myself and Jenna if I'd known. (brat kid needs a trip out to the wood shed!!)

This year better improve quickly or I'll be homeschooling two instead of one!

    Good morning all!

Well, Brent is back with us. [IMG]

He will be going to the Christian School again this year. We sure missed him this summer! We had no idea we would be getting him back, but we sure are happy about it!

He is sleeping on the floor right now and we had to go clothes shopping. His furniture and clothes did not make it back with him. Actually, nothing but the clothes on his back, and his guitar, and his bicycle, made it back with him. :tear:

Hubby had to drop his truck off at a garage this morning, to be repaired, so I had to get up at 4:00, follow him to the garage, and take him to work.

I think I'll go back to bed for a spell. (yawn).

Yay for Brent! Is he going to be in eigth grade this year like I think?

    Good Morning Everyone!

I waited til the smoke cleared before I wrote Jenna's teacher. ya'll should be proud. I didn't actually recommend he take the offending child out behind the school. :D I only requested that she be separated from my child. As for the other incident that occured yesterday (yes there were 2!), I simply requested that the children be reminded to keep their hands out of other people's belongings. I didn't even go into detail about either incident. Wasn't I nice?? (I went to high school with Jenna's teacher so he knows me well enough to know I don't make "requests" without reason)

I am chomping at the bit to get ahold of her SAT scores from last year. The school had a bulliten (sp?) up that listed the names of all the kids that made a "level IV" on both halves of the Alabama Math and Reading Test. Jenna's name was on that list! I'm hoping her SAT-10's are just as high.

Today is supposed to be being spent working on cheerleading costumes, but a variety of things are holding us back, including poor Tanya have to take one of her little ones to the doc in B'ham yesterday and today. They've figured out the problem this time, so I suppose we'll get to work in a couple of hours. I could go ahead and start, but it is rainy and gloomy for the second day in a row and I can't seem to get motivated.

    Ya'll have a good day!

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

That's great about Brent being back with you Sue.

Just think Cuz, if we didn't have to deal with schools we wouldn't know what to do would we?

Guess I'm eating alone tonight. Brenda is down with stomach flu, and the Gkids went with their Mom into town, and she will probably pickup Mickey D's or BK for them. I love it when she "decides to play Mommy." She just doesn't decide to do it very much, that's all.

I'll have a quiet night, for awhile at least.

Well Cuz, I had a satisfactory result from my note. Children have been moved around and the little bra---troublema---darling that was pestering my precious is now located across the room. :) Jenna reported that she had a much better day today.

    Morning all,
Sue, glad to hear Brent is back.
Mom has some tests today so I am off work-after the week I have had it is a blessing!!
    :BangHead:
On our way to the hospital, we are taking all five grandkids to school- the three other ones whose dad would usually take them is out of town and then the two that mom always had. My sis decided last night to play mom and didn't get very far before my mom wrapped up the phone call when mom told her I had taken her girls to buy new shoes and socks. Oh well, breakfast is biscuits and gravy. There is fresh fruit and a variety of jelly (including some sugar free) and juices in the refigerator. Help yourself. Y'all have a good day!

    Good morning all,
It's hard to believe, but he is a Freshman this year...

I got him registered in school yesterday, this morning we go shopping for school clothes and buy school books. I'll be broke by noon. LOL

It's hard cooking now because Brent eats 'real' food (and LOTS OF IT), while Dale and I are on restricted diets. After my losing almost 30 pounds, pray that I don't 'backslide'. The food for Brent looks SO good. :(

    HAGD!

My goodness it's quiet here this afternoon. I have just gotten home from going to a dedication/homecoming service at the cabin at Falls Creek the church I grew up in completed earlier this summer. One of those responsible for it has cancer and it is just a matter of how long the Lord keeps him here. It was a very good service. I saw some people I haven't seen since I was little. The cabin was full of family and God was definately in the midst! I am bringing in some beans, cornbread and some fried pies for dessert. There are all flavors and some sugar free ones as well. Hope you all enjoy. Have a blessed day tommorrow.

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is sunny and in the 80's here with no rain in sight for the entire week.

Starting next Sunday we will be camping for a week at a nearby Christian campground. It should be a quiet and relaxing week, and we're looking forward to it.

For the rest of this week we'll be getting the RV ready and supplies packed. Our Daughter and the Gkids will be in a large tent while Brenda and I will be in the RV. The campground has a lake and a well-supplied game room if the Gkids get restless.

Thanks for the tip about the Hydrogen Peroxide to get rid of water in the ears, Cuz. I'm sure it'll get a lot of use.

I brought in Pineapple Chicken Wings, Watergate Salad, and Double-Chocolate Mousse for dessert.

Time to get back to work packing.

Quick wave "hi" to everyone! We're on vacation and having a wonderful time. We'll be home on Thursday night but then have something at college for Lauren so I won't really be back online until Saturday. I left some chocolate covered cranberries and fresh raisin bread from Mystic Seaport - they're yummy!! :D

This is a look in fast, and run post today.

My MIL was taken to the hospital by ambulance yesterday complaining of severe pain. All tests have come back negative, excep[t they have found a growth that involves the bladder and possibly kidneys that is almost certainly cancer. Due to being on coumadin and plavix a biopsy can't be done for about two days, then we should know more.

It appears it is inoperable and will have to be treated by chemo/ and or radiation.

We're heading back to the hospital and hopefully we'll know more soon.
