    * Whew * what a day. We're back from the hospital.

My MIL's Doctor came in and hit the roof. He said that there was no reason why an ER Nurse should be giving any interpretations from test results to the family. He got the name of the Nurse from the chart and he is indeed going to change her ability to "interpret" test results.

They won't be able to do a biopsy until probably Thursday or Friday and then it will take a few days for the results to be examined and the problem properly identified, and a possible course of treatment determined.

If you would please pray for my MIL, her name is Pat, and the family I would appreciate it. My Wife is now a nervous wreck, and Pat's brother in Houston and sister in Miami are very concerned.

I doubt I'll be posting much in the next few days as we'll be spending most of our time at the hospital.

    Good Evening Everybody,

I pm'd Sue today, and she says to tell everybody Hi. Said she'd check in when she can she's up to her ears trying to prepare diabetic, no sodium, low-fat meals for Dale and herself, and trying to feed Brent too.. She is one busy gal these days.

Still awaiting the biopsy on my MIL. If her coumadin is at a safe level again they might be able to do it tomorrow. Then it's a waiting game.

I surprised my Wife with a home-cooked meal at the hospital tonight. She is staying in the room with her Mother. Thought she might be sick of hospital food.

Time to go and feed everybody else. They're howling like wolves.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Sue, good luck feeding Brent! It seems that Chris and Cade are bottomless pits here lately!

Cuz, I'm praying for your family.

We're still sewing cheerleading costumes here. I'm hopeful that today will be the last full day of it and we'll be done except the alterations and one or two outfits for girls who joined up late. We still don't have measurements for those, though they've been threatening us with them for a week. Can't make an outfit without measurements!

Ya'll have a good day and a good weekend. "Fay" is supposed to dump bunches of rain on top of us as the weekend progresses. I certainly hope so as we can use evry drop.

Praise The Lord!!!!, and thanks to everybody for your prayers. :praying:

My MIL had her biopsy this morning, and the Urologist found NOTHING to get a biopsy of. He thinks it was the way she was positioned for the CT Scan that caused the mis-diagnosis of Cancer. I think that she was healed.

She is still in considerable pain, and the thinking is that her R hip is deteriorating and she is a candidate for a hip replacement. Her Coumadin level was sky high, and the way she was lying in bed caused a buildup of blood that caused some distension. The Coumadin level is back where it should be, the blood buildup is resolved, and Pat is scheduled to begin some at-home Physical Therapy until she can be strengthened enough to tolerate hip replacement surgery.

Pat will be discharged tomorrow and she will come home to a hospital bed in her living room so she can be easily re-positioned with more ease, and prevent the possible re-occurance of the blood-buildup.

I've been at the hospital for the last 18 hours and I'm beat. Tonight is going to be an early night. :sleeping_2:

Thanks again for your prayers. Nobody will ever convince me anything but that the Lord healed Pat as a reult of the many prayers that went up on her behalf.

Praise the Lord, Rob!! That's awesome!!

Well, if you guys could keep praying but now put Bob on the list. My poor hubby came home from vacation with a massive leg infection - enough so that the doctor sent him to a surgeon who proceeded to cut open his leg to try to drain the infection. He still has an open incision with a gauze drain in it as well as now taking very strong antibiotics. It seems to be working but he still has a long way to go before this leg looks any better. So if you guys could pray for him, I'd appreciate it. :)

Well, DH just called and the surgeon pulled the drain and the infection is on it's way to clearing up. He can even go swimming if he wants (though I'm not recommending it with an open wound in his leg). So that's great news.

Around here, I'm just trying to get on top of the mess from vacation. I have one more bag to unpack then it's just all laundry to finish up. I'm taking this week to get the house in shape for school to start next week.

Lauren started college today. I'm fine with the whole college thing but the commute has turned into one major headache. We were told that they had a shuttle bus that runs all the time from the train station to the school and that "all the time" turns out to be about once an hour or hour and 20 minutes. She has a class at 9AM 4 days a week and she can either take the bus from the station at 9 that gets her to class at 9:15 or else take the bus that gets her to campus at 8 - a full hour early. That would mean she'd be taking the 6:52 AM train from our station - over 2 hours to get to school that's 25 miles away. It's NOT turning out to be the greatest situation. She'd better get driving more and getting to be a better driver. She has a car and her license but not enough experience for me to even let her drive the 4 miles to church no less driving all the way to school. We ran errands the other day and I had to yell at her 3 times because she would have gotten into an accident (once to yell "BRAKE" when the car in front of us stopped and she was oblivious and 2 other times when she stopped in a major road because she had no idea what to do - OY!!) Once she can drive, it's a 45-50 minute drive to school, so it will be much better. I'm really thinking about letter her live on campus next year - it will be MUCH easier to get to school that way.

Well, I'm off to finish cleaning the refrigerator. What a mess THAT was! LOL

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

Just got back from the hospital and Par can't come home yet. He hemoglobin level has dropped 8-points in two days. The level is borderline right now, and the need it to go up. They're going to check the level again tomorrow and then might do a blood transfusion.

That's great news about your DH Ann.

I'm making dinner to take up to my Wife. I figure she must be tired of hospital food by now.

    Time to run.

    I'm still here folks. :)

I really didn't desert the Coffee House, but it has been so hectic around here and now I'm on Prednisone and a Z-Pac for Bronchitis!

I'm still trying to figure out how to combine 3 different diets for our meals without feeling like a restaurant owner!

Two need to gain weight and one needs to lose weight and then there are the various health issues that demand different eating habits. Brent eats regular food. It's a mess! LOL

We're just getting Brent settled in. He has a bed and some clothes now and we received our home schooling books via UPS this week. He is getting his old paper route back sometime in the next few weeks. The money goes into a savings account for college. I kept his savings account intact when he stayed with his mother this summer. Brent and I both have to sign to withdraw any money from the account and I ain't budgin'!

He will also be getting his driver's permit in about 4 months. Considering I have had him since he was 10, this is hard for me to accept. LOL

Prednisone is keeping me awake, but I am going to try and read myself to sleep.

Pleasant dreams all and I will check in when I can.

    §ue (tired, but happy)

Well, my poor daughter missed the bus from/to college from the train station TWICE in the last two days. But I spoke to the college transportation and the lady was SO nice and was going to get the drivers' cell numbers for her to call if she was going to be a couple of minutes late. I thought that was nice. Now to just be sure she makes the 5:40 bus this afternoon. Today is her long day - 9 to 5:30 but with the train and bus schedule, she leaves the house at 6:30AM and doesn't get home until 7:30 tonight. Poor kid.

I have to say, though - getting up to get her to the train has been good for me the last 2 days. I've gone to the grocery store after dropping her off and been back home before 7:30 with it done! :D LOVING that! Now in the dead of winter, not so sure but for now....

    Good morning all!

I finally got some sleep! I went to bed at 8:00 last night and slept straight through until 6:00 this morning! PTL! I almost feel like a new person. :)

Still have the Bronchitis and still on the Prednisone, but I'm down to 2 a day now instead of 3, by this week end, I'll be down to one a day. I can handle that better!

Brent and I went cruising at the thrift shops yesterday and brought home some wonderful bargains (mostly for Brent since all of his clothes are still in Wisconsin). Then we hit the clearance racks at Wal-Mart.

I have some laundry to do today and fix supper. The rest of the time, I'm just going to take it easy.

    HAGD!

Good morning all! It's a beautiful day here on Long Island and I'm enjoying the cooler weather that we're having! It's 68 degrees this morning - up from 61 when I got up at 6:15. I LOVE the fall and feel so motivated to get things done in this coolness. :) I've been re-organizing my "office" in the kitchen and it's looking SO much better.

Today will be taking DS to his friend's house then going riding. I need to get some chores done around here too. I went "shopping" in the freezer yesterday and found some chicken drumsticks and thighs so I'll make Parsley Parmesan Chicken for dinner and since the oven will be running, I'll do some roasted potatoes to go with it. I know I have a salad too so I'll do something with that. I'm finding with getting up early, I'm feeling less scattered for the day and more on top of things - I think I LIKE this. I just may become a morning person yet!

    Good Morning Everybody,

Seems like a long time since I've been here. We brought my MIL home tuesday. We're taking care of Pat at her house with a Visiting Nurse coming in 3x/week and a Physical Therapist 2x/week. It's going to take some time to increase Pat's mobility again.

I tried to take care of Pat some time ago when her confusion and dementia were giving her a problem, and I just couldn't thandle it. So now I'm just there during the day to support my wife and run whatever errands are necessary. My primary responsibility is to cook the meals. At least I can do that without any problem.

Can't guarantee I'll be visiting here very much while this is going on as I'll have little free time. I'll try to pop in when I can.

Poor girl! I sympathize. I used to be the queen of bad drivers. I failed and failed the test to get my license. Didn't happen until I was 24, and it was passed with EXACTLY the minimum that could be given on the driving part. (I aced all the rules)
    Stinking cones!
It's taken me a long time and I'm still not comfortable with driving very far.

Is she bad at math? Just wondering. I'm horrid, and I think there might be a relationship. It took me so many years to be able to judge the distance to start braking at or whether I'd be able to fit in a spot or not, or the speed of an oncoming or upcoming car.

But at least I was scared and KNEW I was a bad one...unlike a friend of mine's daughter that I TRIED to teach. When we got past the cones and went on to driving on the regular streets, I made her pull over and stop and I took over, lessons OVER. ROFL Completely. She was overly self-confident and would say "don't worry it's fine" or something when I'd tell her she was too far to one side in a lane, I think we almost side-swiped the entire town in that five minutes...:praying:

    Good morning y'all! [IMG]

I have company this week! His name is Gustav and he is quite a messer! I am enjoying the cool and calm morning because I know it will soon go downhill fast. If the power goes out, I guess I'm gonna have to rough making my bayou blend, lol. We're all electric and Mr. Bunn doesn't use batteries! Granny is stocked up on camping supplies, so I might head over that way should I need a cuppa coffee.

How has everyone been doing? I have been great, praise the Lord! We have been remodeling the house and I haven't had a place to plug in the computer. I have a laptop, but I don't do laptops unless I'm away from the house. My grandmother has a computer, but hers is so new I don't know how to use it! So, I just waited to plug up my old battlestation and here I am!

I'll check back in later... have a great morning! [IMG]

First one in...aren't you forgetting something...like the FOOD?! LOL I'm starving over here! A doughnut and a breve sound awesome right now. However, caffeine is something I can only have on a rare occasion (a decaf breve somehow isn't the same without the caffeine) so I'm having a cup of hot apple cider.

I've been up all night writing. I'm writing for a newspaper and have a Monday at 5pm deadline for a special segment that's going out, but got an email at 2am requestiong more articles ASAP, so I went ahead and stayed up to work on them. Just got my second wind, but I can feel the hollowness of it, it's a fake, and I shall crash shortly without a sugar rush. The cider might do it, I'm waiting for it to cool though! Every time I get too tired I pull out my press pass and admire it. It just makes me so happy...I've always wanted a real one! YAY!

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL day, full of Tigger Tails and Kanga Love!
