Well, hey, I'm back around. Busier day than I like. But the good news is my physical therapy is going so well that they think after next week I can go it on my own.

Not bad from a wheelchair in July! God is good.

Anybody ooot and aboot tonight? Full moon glowing, 10 pm here in the mountain west, and I'm ready to howl!

Dr. Bob, I have been spending some time with the family. I did not even get to watch the CUB game. I am pleased to see that they won. I have a 12 hour day a head of me Today. I work from 10am to 10pm. The catch is I work from the house. I just hope you have a great day yourself. God Bless. Mark [IMG]

    Good Morning Everyone,

Coffee and tea are fresh and plenty of it. Cereals and fresh cinnamon bagel and fruit juice for breakfast today.

    I will be around later.

It is most difficult to sleep when a Great Dane is
    making music in your ear.

    Good Morning All!

PC is acting up again! It now works when IT wants to!

Great night last night! We are having our 13th annual Youth Conference. We had around 700 teens attend last night from several different states.
It ends today at 5:30. I will be helping with the food again today.

    THEME: Children of the King

PURPOSE: To stress to our young people that "We are somebody! We are the Children of the King! We are royalty!" Therefore, we must live like we are Children of the King!

    VERSE: Romans 8:16

I will be back after lunch. I forgot how much teen-agers eat!!!!!!

Not as amazing as what I write at two in t' morning. Did I really say that?

Sue: It's always been true that computers work when they want to. They don't have minds of their own, but I'm convinced they do have wills of their own. Most annoyingly, they often do what I tell them to do, not what I want them to do. :D

    Hello Everyone,

Jim, I was awake at 2am, and i was listening to Radio 4 from 6.30 am. You should have phoned [IMG]

So you dogs stop you from sleeping too? Ours might only be a teeny eight and a half pounder but his favourite spot is right in the middle of the bed.

It has been one of those days when I haven't been able to find anything I wanted in the shops and Rob has been shadowing me around. In the end I told him to go away. Now I find I need to go into town, but I am too tired really. So it is shall I or shan't I

    Talk to you later,
    Blessings

LOL, Sheila!! So Rob's screenname at BB could be "followingher"!!!

I saw your "list" of books you are reading and I've seen you mention you are studying. Are you going to school? If so, what are you studying? And what is your goal?

Just curious because I am intrigued!! [IMG]

Love a slow morning after busy day. I have kippers frying and toast points ready. One of my favorites (although the wife hates the smell).

Pretty laid off day (it was 36F at 10 am on way up to 70F) with bright sun and blazing colors. Will catch up on some football and do some on-line work. No sermon prep.

NOT preaching tomorrow but have something BETTER. Get to run up to Buffalo and hear my son preach!
Can't imagine how thrilled it makes a dad and mom to hear their kids preach! And (of course) play with grandkids for the day.

    Oops. Kippers are burning . . .

Does this mean my daughters can become Baptist preachers and preach in my stead?

    Cheers,

I'm afraid you're taking Dr. Bob's words out of context there, Ninety Nine! Reading something into the phrase that wasn't meant to be there.

And then our church is voting to receive the SBC's 2000 version of the Baptist Faith and Message--in tomorrow's monthly business meeting---as part of our Constitution and By-laws--our church had accepted the 1963 version a long time ago----the SBC has replaced the '63 version with the '00 version. Part of the doctrine included n the '00 version is the acknowledgement of male preachers/pastors only. Of course, I can't speak for the good Doc---but Blackbird stands behind the '00 Baptist Faith and Message of the SBC.

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird

The Baptist Convention I belonged to accepted women in clergy. The Fellowship I belong to does not. So, I have travelled both roads, but have always been firm with men in the pulpit...I just don't get too excited about it either way.

    Cheers,

    Jim

My daughter taught at an ifb college, but now is in a higher calling - having grandbabies for me to spoil! I keep quoting "she shall be saved in childbearing" . .

Both sons preach. Heard son Josh in Michigan in August and now Jeremiah. Joy to my gizzard.

I am NOT (thank you, Jesus) SBC, but agree with the BFM2000 and would consider it just basic doctrine. Am appalled at so-called Baptists who can't handle sound doctrine!

Not unusual, though. Glad even another old coot like Jim (who's gone head to head with me over some doctrinal issues) sees male-only pastoring as correct! Us coots have to hang together!
