    Cheers,

Jim, that is so frustrating. Have you found the screw yet? Over here it is possible to buy a tiny kit with spare screws and the screw driver the right size to fix it.

CJ, I have just started my third year as a Theology student. My major is Theology and my Minor is Religious Studies.

As for the future: As the Lord leads.

    Blessings

Sheila, when one is bonkers over here they have a screw loose,,well, I have lost the whole screw.

Since Monday is holiday, I must wait until Tuesday to get my glasses fixed..I have three other pairs, but they serve different purposes..so, I can read a book, scan a mid-range item such as the computer, but I will need my seeing-eye dog to drive the truck.

I will find it with the hoover one day when I don't need it. Besides, with my hands, I couldn't manage the screw if I did have a repair kit.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Screw loose? In my "fix-it" kit for eyeglasses it has a magnifying glass, screwdriver and a bunch of tiny screws. But without my glasses on, I couldn't find the KIT much less the screw.

So guess I'm not quite as old a coot as you, Jim, but look in your rearview mirror; I'm gaining on you!

Hey, I am misambidextrous; equally bad with both hands. Now how many will own up to that?

Show how bad I am, I just unscrewed an indoor coverplate for a back window to let some fresh air in....I forgot that I had already screwed in place the outdoors glass cover...it is winterized, dummy!!!!!

    Cheers,

    Jim

Oh, that is because it is extraordinarily warm to-day,,around the 30 mark.

I am back from the Youth Conference. It won't be over until 5:30, but I am worn out! :(

Hubby has been cleaning out the gutters all day and placing a gutter screen on them.

We are both going to relax after supper and watch the Cubs BEAT the Marlins! [IMG]

Jim, try putting something like the foot of some tights over the nozzle of your vcuum cleaner, and go over the area where you lost the screw. That way it won't be swallowed up by the vacuum cleaner. I expect Mary can use a screwdriver, can't she?

Yes, Sheila, we already have a filter catch-all on the hoover. I can wait until Tuesday. The doctor doesn't charge for a loose screw; we are covered by our national health program. [IMG]

No, Mary can't find a left-handed screwdriver from a right-handed one...That's how I kept her from my tool kit..labelled all my tools as left-handed.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Invite the grandchildren over to play with magnets
on that floor -- they'll find it! Or tie a magnet on a
string and drag it across the floor.

Need a magnet? Radio Shack is great for them, as
    are educational and science stores.

We have opticians open here on a Sunday. Don't you have an old pair of specs you could recycle the screws from? This comes from having a husband who you would call a packrat [IMG]

Thanks for all your help. Abiyah, the grandchildren live in Florida....it would be a long visit.

Folks, you may not appreciate this, but both my hands suffer from paralysis from my strokes....I can handle most things, but nothing like a small screw if I did find it. I swing a hammer with both hands, and drive screws with a drill and magnetized tip to hold the screw. I have special tools for eating and my own cup with a special handle, which I even take to cafes when we go out for dinner. There is a special knob on the steering wheel of truck so I don't lose the wheel when turning.

Long story, short...On Tuesday, wife will drive me to oculist who will insert screw in spectacles and I will be back in business.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,

I would be inclined to ask for a couple of spare screws.

    Blessings

    STONE HIM

Jim has OPENLY ADMITTED that on Tuesday he's going to some OCULTIST person . . maybe a familiar wizzard like Sha'ul did at Endor.

THERE IS NO ROOM FOR COMPROMISE. Sad day.

BURN THE WITCH! You get the stake prepared, I'll gather the faggots!

    Oh, wait . .

Good to know, Jim. And did you notice my restraint in NOT listing any URL when talking about gathering faggots?

It is interesting how some words have completely done turnabout in meaning since the 14th century to the present.

I move we return to Chaucer and start over again.
