I know Donna! Reruns this early in the season.... ARGHHHH.... I'm sure they figure everyone is watching baseball.

O.K. Sue, start a petition! We want our CSI! No more reruns!!

One good thing... no matter who wins now, my Jim won't be so concerned about the World Series and I can watch SOME t.v.! Shucks.. but they'll probably all be reruns too!

Actually, if the Evil empire wins, than they might show the first run episodes, I know that the networks are already disappointed that the cubbies are out, and really wanted the ratings of the cubs and red sox. I don't know that the nationwide ratings will be that great now that Florida is in, and especially if the Yanks win too. This is a very close game by the way, tied at the top of the 9th

Hey Dave... Maybe by then they'll have the movie 'Fan Interference' on and we can watch it instead of the real ballgames. Why would they ever choose that big guy from 'King of Queens' to play the fan???

I gave up and turned on 'Mash'.

Really should head to bed. Yawn......

    Good Morning All!

I had an early night last night so I didn't even start watching the game (kind of lost interest). So, who won?

Coffee is ready, tea is steeping and we have fresh cinnamon toast this morning, along with our ever famous donuts.

I am going to peruse the board, but I will be around...

Well, the Yanks did it. The home of Babe Ruth rises once more to the onerous task of taking semi-world supremacy in baseball.

Hello Sue...Freezin' here this morning, but I shall survive..I shall survive...So long as I'm alive I shall survive...(the last survive in that falsetto voice)...

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good Morning Jim!

I can hear your falsetto. [IMG]

It is 34ºF here this morning...high today 60ºF.

I did not have the heat on last night and it was a littly chilly when I got up!

The leaves are more beautiful this Fall than I have seen them in a few years, but I sure don't like raking them. UGH!

We have neighbors on both sides and they don't appreciate the leaves from our nine trees blowing into their yards.

We can't burn the leaves, can't rake them into the street for the street cleaner to get, we have no choice but to rake them, bag them, and haul them to the landfill where you have to empty the bags that you just filled up! (Can't dump plastic there).

Can you mulch the leaves with your lawn mower?? That's what Blackbird does! Either that or I rake them and hawl them to the back of the yard to my garden and disk them in to the soil----works good!

We have a total of 20 or so big Oaks and Pecan trees----just crank the lawn mower up and keep runnin' over the leaves till they get worked into the grass---

Your Southern Baptist preachin', leaf mulchin' buddy,
    Blackbird

Good Morning Bro. David and Mark!

Bro. David: We don't have a mulching lawnmower, but will get one on sale this week for $99.00! It will sure make this endless job a lot easier. You could bring your John Deere and bulldoze about 5 of these trees down for us!

Mark: Awww, and here we thought you would get to stay home and post! :D

    We have [IMG]!!!!!!!!!

    Good morning -

I suppose Barnabas and my mother are both smiling this morning - as the horrible Yankees won again.

20/20 hindsight is great - it's too bad the Sox manager wasn't able to take advantage of it when he visited the mound to see if Pedro was all right.

Well onto the series - and remember who has the home field advantage - thanks to the new meaning the all-star game received this year!!

Dan - with no caffeine in my system!

    Good Morning 'no caffeine' Dan!

I don't do caffeine either, that was for Mark. [IMG]

I have lost interest in the World Series now, I could not care less who wins! Sour grapes? Absolutely! (but no whining) [IMG]

Cubs have waited this many years, we can wait another one. I realize we are the brunt of jokes, even some from members on this board! (not mentioning any names, but he wears a funny tie)

Anyway, the jokes have made us STRONGER! [IMG]

I am off to 'the corner'. I will be back later.

    Sue -

One thing I can say about the Cubs - they have a great manager - and if he holds true to form - your Cubs will back for another try again in the near future.

One thing I learned from the Mets this year - a suspect (polite for crummy) manager with good talent - can get his team to the playoffs (Art Howe got Oakland to the playoffs several times) - but that same suspect manager with a bad team - gets no where near the playoffs (Art Howe with the Mets this year).

Good Morning and Boy Howdy to all you chilly Yankee fans.

Ever hear of "chinook" winds? Wind whips along the mountains and high plains at 8-9k elevation, then rushes downward to the great plains at 5k. As it compresses down, it warms up.

So Wyoming mountains are cold and windy, but the plains at the base of the mountains warm up. Warm winters with snow not staying (warm winds blow it to Nebraska) and mild temps year round.

Adiabatic effect (for those who need a word to learn today) but end result is that it is nearly 60F at 8 a.m. in Casper. Will be EIGHTY all along the front range for the next couple days, while cold and rain invade from Canada through the Midwest and New England.

    Class dismissed.

    Guess what happened to me.
I had to go with Rob to lifeskills(part of his parole was to complete 24 sessions), and she asked how I was related to him, and I said I'm his mother, she said oh really, I thought you were his sister you don't look old enough.
[IMG] LOL! [IMG] LOL! [IMG] lol! [IMG]

I will be remembering that one a long time...... :D

    Hello everyone [IMG]

Just a quick look in to say hi and have a coffee (decaf, of course). I have to go and do Sainsburys in a while. Totally boring. Anyway, how are you all today? I have got the most massive pile of ironing to do, so I spose I won't be around much this evening. Will look in later if I can.

    Blessings,

    Sheila [IMG]

    Sheila,

    My advice:

    1. Get permanent press -
    2. Wash and wear -
    3. Or wear stuff with wrinkles - and if your friends don't like it - they probably weren't your friends to start with.
    4. Let Rob do his own ironing!!!

Dan -- wearing wrinkled clothing as we speak!! [IMG]
